    Thank you very much

    MK

    Hi MK.

The file's name is correct. I installed Oracle 12 c on 64-bit Linux.

According to my knowledge, is the reason for the name of amd.

    AMD was the first to release 64-bit x 86 (x 86-64) processors.

The AMD64 architecture has been positioned by AMD from the beginning in a scalable way to add 64-bit computing capabilities to the x 86 existing architecture, unlike the approach of Intel to create a whole new 64-bit with IA-64 architecture. The first AMD64-based, the Opteron processor was released in April 2003. Indeed, in the core 64-bit support "x86_64" is called to make reference to the fact that the AMD and Intel (and others) are implementing these instructions.

    Kind regards

  • Cloning of R12.1.3 from 32 to 64-bit linux.

    Hello

I tried to clone the application layer R12.1.3 with Database 11.1.0.7.0 Server 32-bit linux to linux 64-bit server. When executing adcfgclone.pl dbtier in his shows following error message.

Exception occurred: java.sql.SQLRecoverableException: ORA-01034: ORACLE is not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
Linux-x86_64 error: 2: no such file or directory

This error is software binary oracle pointing the wrong way when checking via the option of the ldd.

So I tried to connect manually using the following command,

    CD $ORACLE_HOME/network/lib
    f ins_net_server.mk install

Have you used the quick Clone for the database layer node? If so, then it will not work and quick Clone would work for the application only layer node.

To clone your database of Linux 32-bit to 64-bit Linux, you will need to follow the steps described in (migration Oracle E-Business Suite R12 of Linux 32 bit for Linux 64 - bit [471566.1 ID]).

Is it possible to have 10.2.0.2 databases as a 64-bit Linux server or is it only possible since 10.2.0.4?

This (stupid) question has probably been asked a hundred times, but I couldn't get anything out of the research, and I really need to confirm before allocating a large percentage of my hardware budget to a new server (a decision must be made in the AM tomorrow, or someone else gets my $$)...

I can put my current 32-bit (Windows 2000 / 2003) virtual machines on an ESXi host running 64-bit (Quad-core Xeon) processors?

And while I'm cluttering up the forum with stupid questions, are there known issues in this configuration running?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes, all processors can run 32-bit clients.  64-bit clients require some hardware features of the processor and motherboard/BIOS card.

  • Migration Windows 32-bit to 64-bit Linux and fix missing 10.2.0.4.12P

I'm migrating a 10.2.0.4 database of 32-bit Windows to 64-bit Linux. I use OPatch to ensure that the RDBMS software is at the same level and have found I have patch #7522473 (10.2.0.4.12P) installed in my house Oracle Windows but not Linux. I can't find the Linux 64-bit equivalent. Any idea where I could find this?

The 'P' in the way patch number is platform-specific. Windows patch bundles are completely different from the rest of the platforms supported, like for Windows patches are merged into the bundle and binary are precompiled, there is no unique pieces for the Oracle executable files. For other platforms, Oracle releases the files objects that solve a problem specific and executable are reprinted in the moment with them. If this patch is in conflict with some other exceptional items, you request a merge or wait for a power supply. This means have probably Oracle under Windows in perfect synchronization with Oracle everywhere else patch-wise - you do not have control on which patches are included in clusters of Windows patch and there may be cases where the batch of Windows hotfixes merges some one-offs for which no merger is on other platforms.

And Jean Valentine advice is correct: patch to 10.2.0.5 then to CPUJan2011.

  • With the help of cvicc on 64-bit Linux?

I used the CVI8.0 runtime for Linux on a project (~ 4 years) I still need to support, before the implementation of a 32-bit virtual machine, anyone knows the trick of compling the ICB 32 bit for Linux code on a 64-bit system?

I am aware of the GCC - m32 and ld-melf_i386 of the options for the 32-bit version on 64 - bit systems, but I don't see how transmit if cvicc calls the GNU tools, or what I need to do to configure a generic Makefile to compile and link my CVI for Linux code.

I checked I got 32-bit runtime work properly as I can move my CVI for Linux application compiled on a 32-bit system for the 64-bit development system I put in place and it seems to work fine.

    -wally.

    Hey wally.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, I wasn't sure, so I thought I would try it myself.  It turns out that you want to pass - m32 to the compiler and linker flags.  These just tell gcc and ld which directories to use during compilation and linking, which means that all the libraries you depend on must be in the/usr/lib32 directory (or links from there to the libraries that you depend on).   For example, I created a link to libcvi.so in/usr/lib32

  • Should what JDK I download for R12.1.3, 64-bit Linux?

    Hi, experts:

I was downloading JDK needs JDK 1.5 or higher for v5.8 Oracle Linux 64-bit 11.2.0.3 database and applications 12.1.3. I found patch #18143596. Is this correct?
Now I don't know which one I should choose depending on the platform.
If I choose the = Linux x 86 platform, in the readme, there platform: Linux-i586
If I choose the = Linux x 86-64 platform, in the readme, there platform: platform: Linux amd64

That one has reason to choose?

    Thank you for your help.

JDK, you will need to follow the steps (using the JDK 7.0 updated with Oracle E-Business Suite version 12.0 and 12.1 (Doc ID 1467892.1)) and download the 32 bit version.

For JRE, you will need to follow (deployment of JRE (Native plug-ins) for Windows customers in Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 (Doc ID 393931.1)) - download the Windows version (Windows 64-bit) x 64 or x 86 (32 bit) Offline as required
