Event DAQmx API for detecting hot plugged USB device
Using the DAQmx API calls, is there a way to request a notification to detect when a USB device is connected to the PC?
I found information on the registration of callbacks for fact, Signal and EveryNSamplesEvent (for example, DAQmxRegisterDoneEvent, DAQmxRegisterSignalEvent and DAQmxRegisterEveryNSamplesEvent) but nothing like 'DAQmxRegisterDevicePluginDetectedEvent '.
The ends of these wires:

http://forums.NI.com/NI/board/message?board.ID=170&message.ID=245864&query.ID=69454#M245864
to believe that I'll have to ask for all devices with:
DAQmxGetSysDevNames (char * data, uInt32 bufferSize);
but I hope that there is something more automated available.
Ideas and points appreciated.
Thank you.

Error "USB device not recognized" but nothing is plugged
Hi, this problem recently just started to happen, nowhere I can say. Whenever I turn on my computer or it wake up from hibernation, a message from the task bar appears saying "USB device not recognized". However, there is nothing plugged one of my USB ports. I have three USB ports available, and all are empty. I tested all three ports in something by plugging, and all three ports seem to work well. What can I do to get this message to stop appearing? Thanks in advance!

you mean the files are hidden inside your hard drive or hard drive is not detected? u can see it in Device Manager?
(1) try to change / assign a different letter for the drive through disk management, if it is no longer visible through the Disk Manager
(2) if files and folders are hiddin use the attrib command
Open the command prompt run as admin and go inside your hard disk by typing the letter of the hard disk on the commnand line
For example D:
then use attrib - a-s-h - r-* /s /d

USB device not shown in my computer
I do not understand what is the cause, anyway when I plug in any device USB on my laptop, I'll take the sound alert that Windows detects a USB (two high-pitched sounds), and the 'Remove hardware safely' icon at the bottom of the toolbar, Windows, so obviously recgonises a USB that I believe has been found , however, in my computer, the USB device is not here to open
I also downloaded a video on youtube showing the problem as I have explained
http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=nvk1ZBQkXu0&feature=youtu.be
Perhaps Daemon Tools have something to do with it?
Edit: I forgot to mention, plug USB devices all worked before as...
Any help will be much appreciated, I'm not experienced with computers & programming either, thanks

Unrecognized USB device if I use more than four devices. WTF.
Hey,.
I currently use a 32-bit version of Windows Vista. I have six slots USB which is given to me. I use four of them at all times to my keyboard, mouse, WiFi adapter and the headset.
Whenever I'm trying to plug a fifth device I get the error: USB device not recognized. However if I unplug any other device, the new device will work perfectly. And then if I try to re - connect the deleted device back in, it will not work until I have remove the fifth device.
WTF?It is certainly not a question of power that I have decent food. In addition, why inlcude 6 USB slots if there are only 4 can work at the same time? I tried Googling for a solution and learned that a computer must be able to handle up to 127 devices, anyway.
What can I do to fix this error? Do I have a virus or something?
Hello
Check with support of the manufacturer of the system (motherboard for customized systems manufacturer) and ask for their
Forums about known issues. Look for the updates the BIOS, chipset of low level drivers, and others
drivers. There could be a power problem that the USB interface can supply only so many devices at a time. If
power is part of the question, then external, powered USB Hub will help.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But powered USB devices are not recognized
Randomly on my personal self built computer, readers usb ceased to recognize anything I put in them. The strangest thing is that the devices kept under tension. The mouse led would light up and charge the ipod. I had to plug into an old school mouse and keyboard that do not use usb to use the machine.
I tried:
Unistalling/reinstalling usb drivers
Update BIOS
Uninstalling drivers for devices (ipod, keyboard, mouse, external hard drive)
Updated motherboard drivers
Compensation to reinstall VistaI'm really confused on what else to try.
Data sheet:
Q6600 2.4
750FTW
500 GB WD 7200 RPM hard drive
2x2gb gskill
EVGA 9800Any ideas would be useful. Right now, the only thing I can think is to replace the motherboard, but I feel that I would not. Thank you.

Device USB error: USB device not recognized
For a week to 10 days I could not connect my USB drive to the USB port. Also my keyboard and mouse stopped working because I was using a USB hub. It must have been a few Windows Vista update recently which caused this problem with USB devices. It does not recognize the USB devices. I can use the USB device on my laptop mini where I have Windows 7.
Microsoft is going to solve the problem in Windows Vista. There should be no reason that we cannot use USB devices and before 10 days ago, it was not a problem.
Thank you for your help.
Hi NRuss,
1. have you checked if the devices are getting detected in Device Manager?
Step 1: Tips for solving problems of USB devices
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/tips-for-solving-problems-with-USB-devices
Step 2: Uninstall all USB device manager entries
a. Click Start and typedevmgmt.msc and then click OK. Device Manager opens.
b. expand Bus USB controllers.
Note: You will need to scroll down to find this point.
c. the first USB controller under Bus USB controllers right click and then click on uninstall to remove it.
d. Repeat step 4 for each USB controller is listed under Bus USB controllers.
e. restart the computer. After the computer starts, Windows will automatically check for changes on the hardware and reinstall all USB controllers that you uninstalled.
f. check the USB device to see if it works
Hope this information is useful.
