You can check the setting of the home page.

Firefox supports several home pages separated by ' |' symbol (pipe).

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js file in the profiles folder that stores the session data. When sessionstore.js is deleted you lose pinned tabs and open tabs, and you need to recreate them, so possibly make a note or bookmarks.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

  • (Legitimate) -Pop-up Windows every time you start Firefox

So, lately every time I start Firefox, the new browsing session retrieves the pop-up windows during previous sessions (since the last time or even some of love it, three days ago), I long closed down. My boot option was always "show my windows and tabs from last time ' who used to do exactly this: pick up the tabs I had open or start with a new blank tab if I had opened. Now, however, whenever I open FIrefox I get different windows of previous sessions.
The problem here is that this doesn't SEEM to be a malware issue because I don't get weird ad/questionable windows but "legitimate" pop ups I me remember I started personally is to say a photo or an image of a trusted site that opened in a new window or a help section on amazon.com , etc.
This is a first and as you can imagine it has become very annoying. I use Firefox 25.0.1.
    Any ideas? Thank you!

Hello waydown, maybe the files in your profile folder that contain session restroe data was corrupted - perhaps trying to remove them, so that they can get regenerated properly next time: go in firefox > help > troubleshooting information, click on file/show profile folder and close all firefox windows later. a windows Explorer window should open up - in there remove all files starting with sessionstore ...

  • "ReferenceError: prepareFFB is not defined" I started to have this JavaScript error recently, every time I start Firefox. I would like to stop this error

I get the following JavaScript error every time I start Firefox:

    ReferenceError: prepareFFB is not defined.

Hello, this sounds like it is probably caused by an add-on. you have any extension/theme installed, you can connect the "FFB"? Otherwise try to disable everything in firefox > addons > extensions & re-enable one by one to see which one might be causing the error message.

    Question
On the right of the adressbox, I always have Yahoo then Google, how can I solve that, I already delete Yahoo from the list in the box search, but every time I start firefox Yahoo is back. Thanks Ron Mijtelen ter, Amsterdam.

    Hi Ron,

Have you looked at article in the Knowledge Base using the search in Firefox bar? There are lots of good information in there. You happen to have an installed Yahoo! toolbar? You must disable or delete as well if you do. Try to start Firefox in Mode safe mode by holding down the SHIFT key while starting Firefox. If you have any problems using the safe, it's a matter of add-on or extension.

    Hope this helps!

  • How to make only ONE tab open every time I start Firefox - still, my screen jumps to the new tab page, although I tried to turn it off?

I recently had internet service for the first time in two years. Over the two years, I took my desktop computer 4 times for a friend and got the updates that were available for AVG, HP, Windows XP, Adobe, Java, Open Office. As soon as I have internet at my house a few weeks ago, I started to update everything. My computer (HP Pavilion, Pentium 4 of 2006 - old, I know) now seems to work very well, but it's very annoying that everytime I open Firefox, I get a new tab page I ask, in addition to my homepage of Mozilla. Even more annoying is that my computer automatically to this page of the new tab. I tried to disable the new tab page by following the instructions given through the Mozilla 'Getting Started' page, rebooted the computer, and nothing has changed. Please advise!

  • Since the 8.0.1 update every time you start Firefox POPs a box asking if I want to install Java Quick Starter 1.0. I say always Yes, but the next time he asks me the same question. Why?

I thought once you allowed a plug being installed and authorized in Firefox it stay installed. Why should I allow it every time? I don't know what made the extension.

Go to the Control Panel, double-click Java. In the Java Control Panel, select the Advanced tab the + various front and uncheck the box Java Quick Starter to remove the add-on. Restart firefox.

  • I receive the error message every time you start firefox: xmlNode.getElementsByTagName ("id") [0] .firstChild is null - 2

Two weeks ago I started getting this error whenever I start up Firefox: xmlNode.getElementsByTagName ("id") [0] .firstChild is null - 2.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the error persists. Then I did a restore and system several months ago, but the error persists. This does not happen with other programs.

Does anyone know how to get rid of it. If it has nothing to do with the registry, I'll have to let it be and switch to another browser.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of your modules is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

    • Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

See the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems and troubleshooting questions with plugins like Flash or Java to solve common Firefox problems

If this does not work in safe mode and then disable all your extensions and then try to find out who is causing by allowing both the problem reappears.

    • Choose "Disable all add-ons" on issues to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode to set window to disable all extensions.
    • Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

  • Add on update loads every time you start Firefox

The charges 'add on update' whenever I start to tell me an update of Firefox has been found. I started in safe mode and reset the toolbars. Even. I went through the list and disable each one and restarted. Even. I reloaded Firefox from a download to load the entire program. Even. The only thing left to remove it entirely, to save my favorites and start over. Ideas?

This can be caused by one of the files that stores details about the installed extensions are corrupt. Follow the procedure in the section "Corrupt extension files" article Impossible to install add-ons (extensions and themes) .

Check that you are not Firefox running as administrator.

Right click on the desktop Firefox shortcut and choose "Properties".

In the Compatibility tab, make sure that this level of privilege: "Run this program as an administrator" is not selected.

You should also check the firefox.exe program properties in the Firefox program directory.

  • I WANT TO DELETE BABYLON SEARCH WHICH APPEARS EVERY TIME I START FIREFOX

In addition, I would like to inform you that Babylon addon is not available in my computer so that I can remove the same. I suspect a scam because I want Google as my default browser and I want whenever I boot Firefox I should see page of Firefox start, and not the search page of Babylon, Babylon has been downloaded by mistake by me that I removed but I am not able to delete Babylon Search.

(modified the text to lowercase for readability - c)

Back to Google as your favorite search engine, follow these steps.

    • In the address bar, type Subject: config and press ENTER.
    • In the filter at the top, type: keyword. URL
    • Double click top and delete everything in it and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=

It is possible that Babylon will be added in several places in Subject: config. Therefore, after completing the steps above, type "Babylon" in the filter at the top. For all cases where you see a frame with that name in it, right click and choose Edit and then Reset. Then close Firefox and restart.

The URL to add in "keyword. URL"becomes a link in this message, right-click and choose"Copy link location"to copy it to the Windows Clipboard. Then press CTRL + V to paste. You have to type all of this saves.

To reset your home page, follow these steps.

    • Go to the site you want to set as your home page.
    • Click on the orange button Firefox and go to Options | Options | General (Firefox 4.0.x and above).
    • Go to Tools | Options | General (The previous version of Firefox).
    • Make sure that it says in the first drop 'show my home page'.
    • Click on the button called "use current Pages' to set the home page to the one you have on the screen.

Toolbar and search for Babylon will be installed with an IM chat client called Digsby if you're not out of it during the installation. See the info at the foot of this page: http://techshali.com/digsby-instant-messenger-and-email-manager-social-networks/

  • Since the upgrade to fireox 25 every time I open firefox has briefly see the message "Reverted change..... .in general useragent override." does this mean

Hi all, since upgrading to Firefox 25 every time I start Firefox I see briefly what follows in a small window while it is opening. "Ignore the devulcanization change... the general useragent. -What it means and if it is a problem how is it resolved? I see the same message on Windows 7 64-bit and 2 LInux distributions.
    Thanks for any explanation.

COR - el, I thank you for your quick response. I deleted the User Agent Switcher Extension and restarted Firefox several times still get the message showing as in first post.
Then, I went to your link and reset the general.useragent.override remains without effect, but I noticed that there are also 2 references to the monitor of preference Extension which I disabled it then resulted in the window showing "Reverted changes... we override useragent general." is no longer appearing at the start of Firefox. It seems that the extension of this last Vers.3.4.3 was the culprit. Thank you for pointing me to finger the solution. Your help is appreciated, weg43.
