EX177AVR: I would like to upgrade the processor in my HP pavilion DV 8300 from 32-bit to a 64-bit can it be

I want to upgrade my 8 processor would like to upgrade to 64 bit 32 bit processor to a 64-bit in my HP pavilion DV 8300 it is a 32-bit with Windows 7 and would like to know to what extent I could upgrade my laptop that I use a lot please help if you can would be greatly appreciated thanks for your time.

Those were nice computers laptops in the day but now completely obsolete. Use the Pentium M (Centrino) unique 32-bit processors and memory DDR 1 which tops out at 2 GB. You could do a minimum competence for browsing the Web and word processing, but it is really made for Windows XP, Vista not even without talking about Windows 7-10. It is not capable of running the 64-bit software.

I want to know if it is possible to upgrade the processor in my computer? and maybe the graphics card

Yes, you could as high as this upgrade:

    Processor Intel Core i7 - 2620 M 2.70 GHz (turbo SC up to 3.40 GHz) (4.0 - MB
    L3 cache, dual core, 35 W)

There is no possible upgrade to the video without having to replace the entire motherboard. There are motherboards for him which go as high as a:

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6470 M with 1024 MB of discrete video memory (128 MB × DDR3 16 @ 900 MHz × 4
(PCs), 64-bit S3 package, switchable muxless

    Hello marketsource,.

For later use, please do not share your serial number on the forums where this was considered personal information (that is why it is x'ed in blue). What to recommend a good processor, I need to know what kind of motherboard you have. Go to support.lenovo.com, enter your machine type (B520), go to the product detail, detail parts, spare parts system, and from there, you will need to enter your country and your serial number. It will give you a list of your system configuration. Go where is the mother card/system board and type the model number of your board here. I'll look in the list of compatible processors for her. Hope that helps.

  • Upgrading the processor on the Satellite U200

I have a PLUA0C U200-PT300E and I would like to upgrade the processor in it. I bought a T7200 processor on eBay since it was the most powerful available for laptops U200/U205 CPU. However, when I installed it, I came across a series of problems. First the fan would run at full speed and the computer would briefly have blue screen after Windows loading and then it could restart. He just kept this again and again. I ran MEMTEST because I wasn't too sure about what the issue was. The computer locked up during the test, and then I was unable to restart it. I replaced the processor with the an original T2300E, then the cimputer starts and ran perfectly.

Any ideas why this happened? Was the defective CPU? Both the U200 and U205 come with the Intel 945 GM Express chipset and I have the latest Toshiba BIOS for the U200/U205 (v 3.70) so it doesn't seem to be compatibility problems.

I wonder if it is the CPU that my own past experience if a CPU is not compatible with a chipset then the computer or the other does not start or it will give errors as soon as it publishes. However, this would be POST and would start to load Windows before it crashed.

I m didn't ask you with all these questions. Why you not a not post here until you have made the decision to upgrade CPU?

In any case, I think that the answer to your questions, you will find under http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB9401AX0001R01.htm
Please read carefully what Toshiba guys talking about CPU upgrade.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the processor in a Satellite M40 - 101?

I have 479 pin provided Pentiuma® M 730 1.6 Ghz processor. It is insufficient for some tasks more. So I would like to upgrade CPU, but is it possible?

    Hello

Theoretically, it is possible to upgrade the CPU but practically it is not easy to do.
The M40 comes with different CPU's.
As far as I know, these processors has been used and are compatible:
    -Processor Intel Dothan (533 MHz)
    730 1.6 GHz
    740 1.73 GHz
    750 1.86 GHz
    760 2.0 GHz
    770 2.13 GHz

It seems that notebook was shipped with the first.
But believe me; No one can tell if the laptop can run successfully after the CPU upgrade.
As you probably know the faster and more powerful processor produces more heat and this could lead to overheating of the laptop.
In my view, this is a serious problem and you should be careful

By the way: Please check this thread. The risk of upgrading have been described very detailed:

  • Upgrade the processor to a Satellite A200-17O (PSAE6)

    Hello

I was just curious to know if it is possible to upgrade the processor of my Satellite A200-17O (PSAE6) (it is an Intel core 2 duo T7100) to a Core 2 Duo more powerful as the T7500. I had intended to do so in a year or two, since at that time there prices for chips should go down and the power of the 2.2 ghz (or more) opposed to the 1.8 ghz may be necessary...

I ask that is because when checking, it seems to be quite difficult to obtain for the CPU (which means I have to remove all of the bottom of the laptop to access; would be an obstacle, I could take however). My main concern is that if the Bios would then recognize the chip I use, what should essentially be compatible since it is always based on the right PM965 Chipset?

Thank you in advance, I am grateful for any answer.

Sorry mate but it s not possible to upgrade your system with a new processor because your system it s not like a desktop system that can be easily upgraded.
The problem is, these components such as the processor and VGA are "wired" for the user, which means that the manufacturer of a lack of doesn´t of mobile system to change any of these comps.

You may have a chipset that can handle more CPU, but the BIOS is not how you think. You will have massive problems since the cooling system are designed individually for each machine, but each unit has its own BIOS configuration and so on.

Probably the most interesting is that you will lose your warranty if you really take apart your machine yourself.

    Thanks for anyones help.

    Hello

Upgrading the CPU is a bit tricky on laptops and more often than not desirable and is not possible.
After the CPU overheating upgrade, it would be possible that don t cooling modules are working properly and the laptop.
Why? Well well, the CPU new and stronger products, more heat and the temperature would be Monte. The fan table that is stored in the BIOS will not correspond with the new CPU and the cooling fans would not correctly work.
In addition, upgrading CPU will void your warranty! It's very risky!

Anyway, looks like you certainly want to upgrade the processor?
So I would check the chipset installed on your laptop.
Try to know the details of the chipset and Intel page for compatible processors research!

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I would like to know the "best practices" for unplugging my computer permanently to the internet and other updates. I thought I would do a clean install of Windows XP, install my Microsoft Works again and nothing else. I would like to effectively transforming my computer into a word processor. He continues more and more slow. I get blue screen errors, once again. I received excellent Microsoft Support when it happened before, but since my computer is around 13 years, I think it is not worth the headache to try to remedy. I ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, and my computer would not be able to upgrade. Please, can someone tell me how to make it only a word processor without updates or internet connection? (I already have a new computer with Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, it's the computer that I use. The old computer is just sitting there and once a week or so I updates.) Clean install XP sites
You can choose which site to reinstall XP.

Once it is installed, then you do not have to connect what anyone, however, some updates may be required to perform the work, test this by installing work and see if you get an error msg. Except that you should be fine.

The M640 @2.6 ghz is officially supported the fastest processor. Here is the Manual:

    Manual

    M640 on ebay

The processor is about $ 100 on eBay. However, I wouldn't do this upgrade if your goal is to improve the power of the laptop game. You would not notice a significant improvement. .2 ghz is an increase of 9% which is not significant at the risk of tearing the machine. Also, the power of game is not so much based on a lot more information about the processor, the graphics card and who can not be upgraded. Laptops can usually be modded in game machines when they come that way from the factory.
