EX7000 with my R7000

Hello

I hang an EX7000 as an Extender to my router R7000. The router uses the Smart Connect so 2.4 and 5.0 ghz has the same SSID and the best group is automatically selected for each connected device. I don't see such a framework for the EX7000. Should I put up the 2.4 and 5 ghz with the same SSID and assume that it will work, or will I have to turn off Smart Connect on my R7000?

Hello cdysthe

You can name the same SSID, this is not recommended because it can cause some problems with some devices.

Unfortunately, the EX7000 does not work with a USB3.0 Hub that you described.
It is possible to use the hub with only hard drives. But the USB printer does not work with the hub.

  • very slow 5 GHz with router R7000

    Hello

I use the R7000 router at my house for some time. Since the beginning of the speed on the 5 GHz band has been very slow. First I thougt it might be a problem with my Iphone, but now I see that Iphone, Ipad and my laptop have severe speed restrictions when you use the 5 g network. With the 2.4, I get download aof 8Mbit, with 5 g speeds no thant more than 1 Mhz.

Any suggestions? I always used the current firmware, but sees no difference. There is not other 5 GHz networks in the House (I've already checked).

    Thank you

    Christine

Others have had problems with channels 5 GHz with the version of the firmware you have, they seem to have luck in fact revert to the previous version, 1.0.4.28. You can get it here downloadcenter.netgear.com/en/product/R7000

A beta firmware is available, you can find the info here https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighthawk-WiFi-Routers/R7000-firmware-v1-0-5-44-limited-release/m-p...

  • Extender for R7000

Is the nighthawk R7000 supportt that he uses DST the R7300 Extender?

If this is not the case, what would be the most compatible of the range Extenders Netgear which is still an inexpensive option?

    Hello Ne1Scott

This extender is specfic to the R7300, but none of the other extenders Netgear will work very well with the R7000.

  • R7000 WAN Port does not use LAN as a substitute?

I have a problem with my R7000. The WAN port is dead. I used it in access point mode for some time connected to one of my LAN ports, but I need to go back to a main router. Is it possible to run it in router mode outside of a LAN port, or I'm out of options and need to replace the router? Past the WAN port, everything works fine. Thank you!

Ive never used Merlin, but I think you need to activate the dual WAN mode and just use the secondary interface for your main WAN while leaving the other disconnected.

  • Extension of WiFi at R7000

    HI -.

I recently installed a R7000 Nighthawk, but he needs a range extension to access certain parts of the House. The R7000 is rated AC1900. I think buying the EX6150 range extender, which is rated at AC1200. Is it still compatible with the R7000, but at a slower speed? I put off buying an AC1900 Extender because the price is 2 - 3 times an AC1200 unit.

Thanks a lot for any advice.

    Peter

Should work, and as you said, more slow - but 50 percent slower, due to the Extender of nature, they are penalized at about 50% loss of flow. I would suggest buying a router that can operate in Access Point, with connection mode direct etehrnet, back to your router, or seek to connect the router and the AP with powerline ethernet products.

  • R7000 - wired connection slow then fast

    Hello

I'm having a problem with the R7000 - when doing a speed test, connection is 0.21 MB/s, then after a few seconds it seems to speed up to good speed 150Mbps. I had the ISP outside to check the modem and everything seems fine, speeds are ok, when you use the ISP with built-in modem router.

Just wiondering if it's a common problem or if there is a parameter that is the cause.

    Neil.

    Things to check:

Cabling between the modem and the router - should be at least CAT5e.

If QoS is enabled. Disable and try your test again.

If you have recently updated the firmware on the 7000 and reset factory default, it would be a good idea to do so.

You have fulfilled your ISP modem? If you use the 7000 as your main router, you should do, if it's a router / modem combo.

    Well Yes.

  • Can I have 2 routers in my house and extend my range by buying a second device?

    Hello

I have the router 4 X in my living room, but I got a break in the attic on the second floor. The Wifi signal does not reach the attic.

I have a Powerline (internet through electricity network) in the attic. I want to wireless internet in the attic. How ould you recommend? Any thoughts? I was thinking of buying a second nighthawk and this, expanding the existing network. They work together like this?

Everyone out there for a helping hand?

    Thanx

    Winood

Yes, you can buy a second router (a R7000 would be much) set up the R7000 as Access Point (AP mode) and connect your 7500 via powerline, with year R7000 in AP mode, you can use all of the router's LAN ports. Also, take a look at the EX7000 for price comparison. It also supports the AP mode.

  • R6200 caps than ethernet wired 200 Mbps of download speed

I recently updated my home ISP service in the service of Time Warner 300mbps. If I make a wired connection to the modem cable from the ISP, I can reach the speed of 300mbps advertised, so I get what I pay for my provider.

However, when I connect the same PC (cable) to the R6200, the download speed is capped at 200 Mbps. This suggests that the question is the R6200 (I'm just the fact to unplug and plug the cable even in another device located a few feet farther).

After 6 weeks, I've been on R6200 manual and parameters and cannot determine if there is a configuration setting, that I need to address, or if there is simply a limitation inherent in the R6200 who is covering my supposed to 200 Mbps gigabit speed I'm not also find in the documentation (or I found something obvious in the research of the community of Netgear).

Other facts: confirmed I have the latest firmware on the R6200 (V1.0.1.56_1.0.43). Computer is a Dell Windows 10 with gigabit ethernet support (16 GB of memory, Intel i7, etc.). While I'm guessing that this is within the parameters of the R6200, I should not deny the fact that it may have something to do with the handshake between the cable modem and the R6200, to complete the cable modem is a ubee.

If someone has had this problem and they solved? Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I tried all these things before posting. (I could do worse, but never better than 200 Mbps when it should have been 300mbps.) In recent days, I have been plagued by intermittent Internet outages. The R6200 ended up being at fault, apparently because he didn't want unreliable stay connected. I finally replaced with a R7000 Nighthawk AC1900 and I am happy to say that I get the full the R7000 300mbps. My problem is solved in this regard, although I wasn't expecting to have to replace the R6200.

  • Random disconnects.

I bought a R7000 now a week ago. My other router continues wobbly on me, could not take any charge for an amount of time and was generally an unhappy experience.

Now to my problem with the R7000: I keep having random disconnects. Meanwhile, the internet totally cut. The genius tells me that my internet is disconnected. Then he resumed his normal breast like 5 or maybe 8 seconds. This happens from time to time three times ever. I tried the upgrade of the firmware and custom firmware. Any help for me? Thank you!

For those who have R7000, please try to use the beta fw 1.0.5.62.

  • R7000 as router with the router for mobile broadband Internet

Hey guys. First of all, my apologies for my somewhat inadequate English skills. Secondly, I am brand new to the community, so apologies in advance for any fault :-) Third stop, apologize for having a complete beginner :-D

So, for the issue: I recently bought a router top mobile broadband 4G (4 G MBR) to my apartment, because of the gap of strength and speed signal very low quality of the cable to the ground on my Street (fiber is to come next year).

But the router provided by my operator isn't on par with my router R7000 Nighthawk when he comes to reach wifi, wifi speed, number of outputs of LAN and power of the processor.

So, I want to use my R7000 my router, the internet signal from the air to the 4G MBR, then by cable to the WAN of the R7000.
In other words; I want to just 4G MBR to simply pass / transfer the internet signal to my nighthawk R7000 router so I can use the R7000 as my router, LAN and wifi.

How can I set this up?

    Thanks for your help!

Update: the MBR has been no help at all. As far as I could tell, there is no possibility to bridge or pass-through mode. The R7000, as she does the work. I just put it in AP mode, adjust all the wired connections DHCP/auto IP assign and everything works great.

  • R7000-can not get to work with iptv

Hi, I have problems to make my r7000 working with plusnets iptv... Recently signed to it and they sent me their shitty router that feeds their iptv perfectly but I can't figure out how to get the nighthawk for this...

Current firmware 1.0.4.30. in advanced settings, there is an option allowing to the VLAN / bridge I had some success using: iptv works for a bit, but not internet traffic outside of iptv is passed to the youview box - so can't watch netflix etc. It stops also work after I have change the channel so it does not seem in any case the right fix

PlusNet cannot provide me details for tag vlan, so don't know not where to go from there... every time I have activate the Internet is not just connect - tried VLAN 10, 101, 301 and the thing that I could think of...

I read that there is an option to enable the VLAN / IPTV on some firmwares, but I don't see "enable VLAN / Bridge" on mine.
This feature is still supported on the R7000? or would be running DD - WRT work?
    I hope someone can help
    Thank you

    Works fine on my r7000.

And we have a solution! Flashed the CFW, a quick reboot of the router, and a bit of higgery pokery - work with enabled IPTV YouView.

Here's a note in case others run into this forum and fall into the same obstacle. These are the settings you need once you have flashed the CFW:

You must configure 'Enable VPN + connection DHCP' to 'No' to the terms of the WAN option.

    Parameters used were:

-Have the router to the latest firmware: 3.0.0.4.374.130

-Use the following settings in the LAN > IPTV:

-"Select the ISP profile" = None

'Choose the Port STB IPTV' = None

    -"Use DHCP routes" = Microsoft

-"Enable routing multicast (IGMP Proxy) = enable".

'Enable the effective transfer of multicast (IGMP Snooping) = enable ".

    -' UDB Proxy (Udpxy) = 0

I hope this proves use for others in the future and thank you for all your help.

  • How to maximize speeds with a Broadcom AC and R7000 card?

    Hi all
I've updated my motherboard Asus Maximus VII impact with a Broadcom 802.11ac integrated network card. I think this is the model that bcm43xac_nt61 based on the device ID.

On my band 5 GHz network, it will connect and if I click with the right button on the network and click on State of speed is listed at 866,5 Mbit/s. If I move the mouse over the network, it lists what it 802.11n and no ca. I get only 1-2 bars on the 5 GHz if band. With that, I can download steam up to 4.2 MB/s. I think it should be much larger.

On my 2.4 Ghz network, I get 2 to 4 bars, speed is 144.0 Mbps, and I get up to 3.9 Mbps downloads.

I have WMM active on the router, but, but not sure of what another tweak for this card. I changed a bunch of settings for my previous intel 7260, but erset after I got rid of this.

    Any ideas?

    See you soon,.
    Alex

I changed all the settings. Immediately made the signal to jump her four-bar and then slowly go down to 1 or 2. Not much difference in download speed.

But, I got a new Optimum modem, one with Docsis 3.0, the Arris TG862G and she welcomed my dl speeds for up to approximately 7.0 MB/s. Much better.

Should I look for in get one of the high range Surfboard modems to increase speeds?

And is there anything else you guys can think about the Broadcom adapter or the router to further increase the DL speeds?

This is the antenna supplied with my motherboard. I would be better with a standard antenna?

Spare antennas put like this will do anything or is it just gadget? How is it that they don't list it as 802.11ac compatible list?

    Thanks again

    See you soon
