excessive use of the memory of cRIO with without execution of the VI...

I have a cRIO-9073 which seems to work with very high memory use, even when no VI is actually being run.  For example, if I format the cRIO, install the standard cRIO WHAT RTF S/W set (without the analytical engine) and then open Distributed System Manager OR I get 85% (!) memory usage.  I did the format and reinstall to ensure doubly as no VI is running.  I have used several other cRIOs, but I do not remember the operating system that requires this amount of memory.

Attached pictures of the s/w installed and distributed system manager.

When I'm not running my VI, I am of course short of memory.

HI Brad,

I have a 9073, and Yes, the standard operating system uses about 80-90% memory.  You must choose the custom installation and strip off as much as possible.  I have been using 9074 controllers since this experience.  I hope that you can run your application by following these tips.

Good luck

  • excessive use of the memory of vCenter 4.1

    Hi all

We have a new (not upgraded) installation of 4.1 on 2008 R2.  About 20 guests and 70 VM.  SQL is out of box, no premises.  It is a virtual machine.

4 GB of RAM, physical memory usage was 98%, and while vCenter seems to run OK, doing anything on the box has been very slow because there would be an excessive paging activity.  We met up to 6 GB RAM and it helped a lot.  For the configuration of Tomcat (Java tab), I put the RAM to 768 MB max and it has helped a few more things.  I see more physical RAM use overview about 98% and a load of total validation of more than 6 GB.

In addition, NetApp vCenter console was added to this facility.

    Is this normal?

I just noticed the VMware Update Manager is a working set of the top of 1 GB with defects of cumulative page 47 million - current working set is only 43 MB.  I wonder if this process is the bad actor on the stage.

I'll keep an eye on it to see what happens.  However, I do not think you answered the question about the limits.  Are there limits of resource defined on the client itself?

  • Can I avoid excessive use of disk storage capacity by removing the old/obsolete updates... ?

Hello world. I use Windows Vista Home Basic. Updates are very frequent, and some are quite heavy. • HP 550: updated hp 550 memory and cpu with the unconventional settings. is not ideal, but not other choice

HI guys, I hope you can help or at least give a point in the right direction. I am a freelance photographer with a large part of the suite creative Adobe CS6. After a disaster of a week, I came home to find the motherboard on my editing station is fried somehow. I don't know what happened though I wouldn't put past my inattention of roommates.
I'm desperate. I have to finish my current job until I'm able to afford to buy a replacement. So I have to rely on stop-gap measures, in desperation to finish my project, that are less than ideal, but so far are doing better than I'd hoped.
Im a photographer, Capture One, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro are the go for workaholic applications that I need to work. without them I have no income. in order to have this machine run these applications,
the machine I have left is an old hp 550 that was gathering dust in the closet. It was built for 32 bit Win XP and in no case is designed to run adobe products food pork I use, particularly of Lightroom.
Unfortunately PS with Lightroom and first are 64-bit programs and LR and first are hyper threaded. so I did some research and with the help of the list of the utility windows 7 Advisor to upgrade instructions, I was able to get windows 7 Pro 64-bit to install and run.

I know that this is not the ideal machine or the situation, but for a few weeks, I need to make it work.

I really just 2 simple questions. First of all, I went to the HP technical support. but they were not useful. as the guarantee of the laptop are long gone, they would be not even polite and basically told me to shove off. Then on another forum, I called back and comes with a knowledge it all who constantly insisted on the fact that there was no way no how this pc could run 64 bit win 7, which i thought what am I seeing things? It works very well for 3 months. So I decided to come to you. your forums were useful on many occasions.

Basically, I need this machine to run these programs during the next month or two, until I can buy a new machine.

essentially, what I want to know, it's the motherboard support an upgrade of the processor? and if anything goes, what do you suggest as a substitute, given my needs? The Core 2 duo is the bare minimum of what I can limp with like photo/video rendering times are excessively slow.

then I was talking to the support staff essential tech upgraded memory. and possibly set the bios to force to run 8 gigs of ram. They said that they have cold cannot find any version of bios that would make that possible, but only by forcing already run 64 bit, which has already allowed the pc to use the full 4 GB of ram, which was impossible in the 32-bit format. He suggested that I buy 2 4 gig modules such as 4 GB DDR2 PC2-5300 unbuffered NON - ECC, 1.8V 512Meg x 64 which can be seen at http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/memory/ct51264ac667 and try to install the full 8 concerts and see what would happen, saying that he had a feeling that I might get lucky. his logic is that the 64-bit system already open the ram limits and who knows, you can't make an omelet without cracking of eggshells! It seemed very optimistic. So, what do you think? It seems likely you because I love to work. or do you think the guy was a quack? and this whole endeaver is a waste of time and money?

also, any other suggestions on how to time this month long storm that do not involve suggestions of buying new machines would be appreciated!

Unfortunately, the maximum configuration is a processor T5670 1.8 ghz and 4 GB of DDR2-667 memory, you already have. The CPU includes the 64-bit instructions is not surprising, that it can run Windows 7 64-bit. My best advice is to save your money for when you can get a real working machine. The only other likely to help is a solid state drive, you might use in the laptop and then also use the new computer that you intend to buy.

  • Question about the use of the memory modules

I have a dilemma between the use of a new 1 GB memory (what I intend to buy) with more speed
and by using the 1 GB + my old 256 with less speed
    which option will contribute more?

    Hello

The fact is that if you use 2 different memory modules with different properties (of lower performance) so the laptop can run with lower performance. This means that the 256 memory module slows down you memory. The best way is to use the same modules having the same properties.

  • With the help of two CAN channels on cRIO with 9853

I have a cRIO 9014 controller RT and 9112 chassis and a CAN Module 9853.  I used successfully CAN receive and channel CAN Transmit example projects to check the work of material.  Then, I took two screws FPGAS of each project and grouped in a single FPGA VI by copying just the two in the same VI.  I can correctly transmit and receive with the host live

My goal now is to be able to use the two CAN channels on the module 9853 for transmitting and receiving CAN Messages on each channel.  I like to use in a project in hybrid Mode later, so I think that there is only a single DMA channel available after that Scan Engine takes 2.  Maybe that's why I get an error when I make a copy of everything in the FPGA VI, make a new FIFO and make copies renowned host of screws with different names of variables to match the copied content from FPGA VI.

Any other ideas on how to proceed would be appreciated.

Also, I know that CAN1 needs an external power supply, so it is no more a problem.

    Thank you

    John

I thought about it, I don't know why, but some parts with part 'FPGA to receive channel CAN' in their own lines fixed.  Now CAN receive is as fast as can be, never drop frames or overflowing the FIFO.  He also compiled FPGA Bitfile 30% faster and was about 50% less use of the device.  Weird...

If you're curious, here's the new VI:

  • How to set the use of video memory on the graphics card to my laptop cq56-110us?

    Hello

I have a PC Compaq laptop CQ56-110us.  Windows 7 says is has 797 MB video memory shared from the main memory of 2 GB.  I want to reduce the use of video memory, i.e. 256MB.  Is this possible?  If yes how.  I would appreciate help with this.

    Thank you

    Don

    Don, welcome to the forum.

Built-in memory is allocated by the system.  As more video memory is required, is allocated.  There is no way that you can change.

  • A lot of memory used after the repair Installation of Windows XP

I recently put a new motherboard in my computer and it took that I re - install Windows XP.  I managed to re - install Windows XP with my previous settings still intact, but I noticed that he had a lot of memory used (~ 20 GB) which has not been used before the installation of my new motherboard.  I checked all the files that I had in 'My Computer', and the total memory was not adding up to what was planned to be used.

During the Windows XP installation process, I chose the option to repair an existing Windows XP, in the hope that it would recover my previous settings.  I could continue until the activation of the installation part and had trouble with it; but was soon fixed.  I thought that if I continued to repair the existing Windows XP that it would remedy the activation part I had problems.  So all I can assume is that additional memory that has been used is from several times, I fixed my existing operating system due to the multiple copies of the same files that were used to repair.
I contemplated I should save my computer, delete the partition, reformat the hard drive and install a fresh Windows XP or find a way to delete the files that take up a lot of place and who fail to find.  With the first option, I'd still have these files 'Phantom' on my backup, which in turn would be always present when I restore my backup the freshly installed Windows XP.
I would like to know if I'm near a possible remedy to this situation, or y at - it another option I don't see who could solve this problem?

  • Memory and the use of the disc on my IDS 4235 sensor & 4250.

My ID sensor memory usage shows a use of 99%, and the hard drive is already 5 of the 15 Gig. Here is the log of "seeing the worm."

With the help of 398913536 of 1980493824 memory available bytes (99% of use)

With the help of 5 of the 15 bytes of disk space available (66% of use)

-only the signature of med and high seriousness is enabled. Why the sensor used this memory?

-Is this the sensor has IDS to a database that stores the logs which causes the hard drive used space? (considering that she has the management of the IDM)

    - Or any other reason why the hard drive used whereas the large drive space is new and operating time is 2 months?

-Update of the signature file is adults who took over this large space on the HARD drive?

Hope - could someone give me an idea why is it so.

As I said earlier, there is not a problem with the use of disk space. Memory usage bug is fixed in the 5.X product not 4.X. However, there are some good bug fixes in the patch of engineering 4.1(4g).

The number of real memory usage can be determined from the service account by entering the following command:

    Bash-2, $05 free

total used free shared buffers cached

    MEM: 1934076 1424896 509180 0 18284 1214536

    -/ + buffers/cache: 192076 1742000

    Swap: 522072 0 522072

The "Mem:" line and the column 'pre-owned' is the amount of memory (in kilobytes) that

the command reports "show version". However, this total includes the

    amount 'caching '.

So in the example above, the actual memory used is (1424896-1214536), or

    210360 KB. It is (210360 / 1934076 * 100), or 10.9% of total memory.

  • Can we use Office default memory offline if the customer does not have enough free memory?

Can we use Office default memory offline if the customer does not have enough free memory?

Yes. We can use the parameter offlineDesktopDefaultMemoryScaleupValue jointly with the offlineDesktopReportedHostMemoryValue parameter in the registry.

For example, if your client system has 2 GB of memory and the desktop view is configured to require 2 GB of memory, you won't be able to check the desktop view because low memory is also necessary for visualization of hosted customer.

Use the parameter DesktopReportedHostMemoryValue = 2048 registry offline, so that you can go to the desktop and use the registry parameter offlineDesktopDefaultMemoryScaleupValue = 1024.

so that the desktop view uses only 1 GB of memory when run locally.

    Reg patch: HKCU\Software\VMware, Inc. \VMware VDM\Client\disableOfflineDesktopMemoryScaleup

Note: If it's a small environment you can do manual. Or we can simplify this activity by creating a group policy.

  • Use of the Task Manager physical memory is not not to use processes

I have seen this topic discussed it before, but I did not understand what is happening here.

-J' have one windows server 2008 with 8 GB or ram configured, with the limit set to unlimited and booking made 8 GB.

-When you look in the Task Manager, I see the physical memory to 88% and the bar bed to 7.10 GB.

-Adding all process memory usage, it is only about 2 GB.

-In another thread, that I read that it was because he had a deadline, and hot air balloon began.

-J' I monitor the server via SNMP and have alerted all the time that this server joined more than 90% ram usage.

-The Guest server is correct use of the physical memory Task Manager?

-If it is not, and is caused by the ESX host, how can I fix it to properly monitor the comment server.

    ESX.png

    Windows.png

The question here is how windows works,

You reserve memory and don't have no limits, so there is no balloon showing VMs to appear that they have high memory use when they are not actually in some cases.

Processes that Task Manager displays is not all that is running or being eaten, I know when working with SQL, you have FEAR that can use a ton on memory, but there is no process to show.

Best thing to do is to run RAMMAP a sys internals tool that will show you exactly what is using the memory in windows.

  • Question about the use of the memory of the host and the VM memory limit.

Well, I have so vCenter PAHO running in my environment.  My host started to have a little low on available memory and the server of the OPs was the biggest pig, so I thought I could try to corral it a little.  Here is some info documents and help than I thought.

ESX host has pointed out, looking at the level of the ops vc server:

Host of Mem - MB: 7364

    Guest member - %: 3

With the virtual machine has highlighted:

Consommé of host MB memory: 7378

    Client active memory: 573 MB

So I understand these numbers as such: the memory of the host is the amount of physical memory that has been allocated to the vm, and the memory of comments is the amount of memory allocated is really active in the guest operating system being used by the process.  Please correct me if I'm wrong.

My solution was to set a limit on this virtual machine with 4 GB of memory, freeing up about 3 GB of memory to the host, but after the change is made, consumed host memory never came down.

What Miss me?  Thanks in advance for the help.

I understand that. Can you turn off this guy and turn on the power?
