Exchange of wall plug adapter Apple AC - Airport express

Hello

The list of exchange programs Apple AC power adapter plugs for Iphone/iPad/iPad/mac - with explanation on how to identify the affected cards. It Tuns on that my plug for my AirPort Express Base Station has the same affected care. However, this s/n will accept not under the replacement program.

The program is supposed to work for caps from 2003 to 2015 - the unit is 2011. I don't know why Apple customer security statement does not apply to Airport express base station. Is anyone here able to explain this?

Since I have small children, I decided to unplug the AirPort express base station as I guess that is not safe since it has identical to the affected card registration. Someone in the registry here the same problem with their caps for the AirPort Express Base Station?

Kohl

Just an update - when I enter the s/n on the AirPort Express base now - he accepts and candle replacement can be ordered. So problem solved - thanks.

  • How can I make it work with just an Apple TV, AirPort Express and iPod/iPad/iPhone?

Hello people of Apple, I have some questions about a new "setup" of Apple products that I hope I can get to work between them. In other words, I need to know if what I am wanting to do in fact is possible with this new configuration.

    Current set up:

    • mini iMac (a former member of 2010, but fully updated for OSX El Capitan)
    • drive external HARD as the Time Capsule disk and with tons of music not purchased through the iTunes store (from my CD collection)
    • Old Airport Express connected to the modem (which received the fiber of my ISP)
    • 3rd Gen iPad
    • iPhone 6 more (work phone)
    • iPod Classic 5th Gen with close to 30 GB of my library and plugged on my car stereo to
    • iPod Shuffle 4th Gen for gym

I want my setup to be:

    • Apple TV
    • Airport Extreme with external HARD disk * even from above * (my library backup iTunes music around, videos and photos) connected via USB
    • iPad Pro
    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPod Classic 5th Gen that I want to stay plugged into my car stereo to
    • iPod Shuffle 4th Gen for gym

So my questions are: can I continue to sync my iPod Classic and my iPod Shuffle without a computer (I guess maybe not), and if so, HOW? I'll be able to sync the iPad and iPhone via wifi without computer as well? Also, I'll be able to play my library directly from the drive external HARD using the Apple TV?

I'm guessing / hoping that the new Apple TV from the music/iTunes app and the pictures/iPhoto app, I can connect my iPod to the airport and synchronize them via the app AND connect Apple TV directly on the HARD disk via the airport. And perhaps also to synchronize the iPad and the iPhone on wifi in all Apple TV apps or something or maybe I just need any Uploader in iCloud and will not even need the HARD drive more except as a backup. Help!

You have need of computer-Mac or PC. You can sync the iPhone/iPad wireless, but only via a computer in iTunes, I'm not sure about the capacity of wifi iPod.  Not to mention the iTunes, the software is required to manage the devices and media.  Important note: you must always back up your purchases - just because you buy a book, movie, TV show, song today does not necessarily mean that the media will be available from Apple servers for eternity.  The Studios retain rights and may, at any time, sign an exclusive agreement with a network, streaming provider etc which would then remove this file to be available on Apple servers.  You must download and save purchases - that would need a computer running iTunes software. You could buy storage for all your media, but then additional personal iCloud yet you would need a computer to manage. In addition, with respect to the Apple TV, you cannot connect all readers.  The USB port is only for the restaurant and full-service.  The Apple TV is a streaming device, but for the local media, he uses homeshare, which requires a computer iTunes rather than be connected directly to a storage device.  Although there are other applications like plex or infusion but they would require a NAS configuration rather than the HARD disk, and you would want / need a computer to manage the NAS server...

the only thing you want to eliminate is the only thing that is required for all...

    Hi all!

Just to be sure, is this recently announced Exchange adapter taken wall (original announcement) is only related to the adapter from the wall socket - plug - not the whole charger? • Can I use the lan Ethernet port on the airport express to the release of music?

Can I use the Ethernet connections on airport express at the exit of music over wifi to a set of speakers? I would use an Ethernet connector at one end a DIN 5 pin to a pair of speakers beolab 2500/2300. I don't want to use the PIN audio output on the Airport express, as it is analog. Possible music out through one of the Ethernet connections at the back of the Airport express? Thank you

Can I use the Ethernet connections on airport express at the exit of music over wifi to a set of speakers?

    Sorry, but no.

I don't want to use the PIN audio output on the Airport express, as it is analog

Perhaps you weren't aware that audio port on the AirPort Express audio book Terminal analog or digital, according to the type of connector used. See this link on the AirPort Express specifications to confirm... http://www.Apple.com/Airport-Express/specs/

In other words, for the Express deliver audio analog, connect a standard stereo mini plug with connectors appropriate to the other end.  To ensure that the Express deliver audio digital, plug a mini Toslink cable to the audio port on Terminal AirPort Express.  An example is in this link... • Airport express to extend wi - fi using the adapter but NOT extreme airport

    Hello

I am looking to buy an express airport in order to listen to music through my stereo and also create another network wireless upstairs in my house.

My question is, I currently have no apple down wireless router and I have connected to a line adapter with an adapter of the power line on the floor. If I connect the airport express base station to the adapter on the floor, I'll be able to create another network on the floor as well as the flow of my music, even if the router that comes from the connection is not apple router?

    Thank you

    Andy

If the floor of the Airport Express will be connected via the WAN port using a regular power adapter ethernet cable carrier online and will be in Bridged mode, you can create a wireless network to the floor. Not bridged mode, you can see double-NAT issues, which should be avoided.

  • Can I plug two Airport Express units with ethernet cord and have a third Airport Express Terminal receive airplay music wirelesslly? In other words, can I combine a Wi - Fi network and roaming?

I have an undesirable on the 1st floor, connected to the cable modem Ethernet event. I want to connect that AE to an another AE on 2nd floor with ethernet cable AND have a 3rd AE on the 1st floor to receive music through AirPlay wireless. I thought that linking the two first AEs with ethernet would improve the performance of web site on my iMac desktop, which is on the 2nd floor and connects to the 2nd floor AE via wifi. The EI the first two are newer model (MC414LL/A); the 3rd AE is old model (MB321LL/A) and is connected to a stereo Bose with a mini-jack to RCA cable double cord. I tried to set up this network using AirPort Utility, but have had no success. I don't know if it is possible to do what I want to do; and if this is the case, I don't know how to set the various parameters for each AE using AirPort Utility. I've temporarily implemented a purely wireless network; Do not connect DO NOT the two AEs with ethernet and everything works. I would enjoy my plan as above, or if I hold with purely network wireless. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Using ethernet network roaming between the two floors is a much better idea than anything wireless.

The installation should be automagical if you start with the two AE plugged in by ethernet.

It must be configured in standard roaming with identical names wireless.

If you have any questions... Please, just after the airport utility screenshots of the configuration... but

An express train is probably the router? You must confirm this.

The second express is so configured in bridge... It's on the network tab, disable the bridge mode.

Without thread is set to create a wireless network and simply use the same name and the same password as the other Express.

As it should be automagical when you WAN on the second AE plugged into the LAN on the first AE.

Wireless and then extend to will also be installed enough well automatically even if sometimes it works better in a client that extend wireless mode.

    See the Client mode.

I unplugged for several minutes and plugged in. I don't know if there may be a software update that I missed?  Someone had this problem?  I would be grateful for any help. Thank you! Chuck

If you have not reset the Terminal AirPort Express to settings by default and then set up again to extend the network provided by the AirPort Extreme... so now may be a good time to do this.

As it is, the Express is not "appear" on your network because it has not been provided with the settings to do.

If you need some advice on how to get the Express running... we will need a little more information from you as follows:

    (1) your AirPort Express Terminal has two Ethernet ports... or... does he have one?  If is has one, we need to model on the side of the unit number. It starts with an "A" followed four digits.  For example... A1264.

    (2) AirPort Express Terminal will connect to the network using a permanent connection to the Ethernet cable wired to AirPort Extreme... or... the Express will connect wireless?

    (3) what device you use to configure the AirPort Express Terminal?

    (4) If you have a Mac, we need to know what operating system they are running. If you are not sure about this, click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click on about this Mac and post back with the Version of OS X number that you see there.

  • Airport Express from Apple

I plugged my music system in an Airport Express as a work-around to play the music from Apple through Sonos.  Now I can get music Apple app Sonos, and my network is provided by my Time Capsule, Airport Express has all the useful functions or should I sell it?

Well, the main function is to extend your wireless network. So if you're not that, then I don't know why you bought it in the first place.

You can plug printers into the USB port on the Airport Express to print wirelessly on them.

  • The Apple AirPort Express Base Station is a good solution?

I'm moving so leaving the wifi station that Verizon gave me. I think I have the Apple AirPort Express Base Station by station WiFi. I connected an iMac (main computer) MacBook Pro, iPad, iPhone.

My main question is how this used for the WiFi base station compares to others on the market.

    Thank you!

    Johnny

The AirPort Express has limited the ability of speed due to its slow and limited capacity wireless Ethernet port due to its very small built in WiFi antennas.

However, if the plan of your new Internet Service Provider (ISP) is limited to about 50 Mbit/s, then the Express would probably be OK if most wireless devices will be located near the AirPort Express Terminal.

If the budget allows, an AirPort Extreme is a much better product... up to 10 times the speed of the Express... with additional WiFi antennas located just above the 'tour' to improve performance.

If your new ISP plan is 100 Mbps or higher, then AirPort Extreme would be a better match.

If you are considering other routers from other manufacturers... we cannot comment at all on their performance without knowing the number of brand and model of the device you are considering.

  • Has anyone found a fix for Airport Express music jump Apple?

I searched for weeks for a solution to my intermittent gaps in music, aka jump. It's so frustrating. I really don't want to have to go to a wired solution. It will take too long and a cable unattractive in my rooms.

I use the Bright House Networks 5 ghz Arris DG1670 router/modem that my provider rents for me.

The router is less than 30 feet of my Airport express

The airport express is on the ground, hooked by fiber TosLink Cable to my Focusrite Safire Pro 24.

    • Thinking that this could be a problem I have since turned sideways to try it as a cure for that surface in contact with the ground is less. The next step, I'll try is put on something instead of on the floor. But given the proximity is is not much of a problem anyway.

    I tried:

    • change the channel on my router from 11 to 40 to 47 to the automobile. They all jump.
    • I tried the 5 ghz and 2.4 ghz for connections.
    • Streaming of my Macbook Pro, streaming from my iPad 2 Air
    • Change the setting of joint A/N to N only (since the Express a N)
    • Activation and deactivation of WMM in the router configuration.
    • Pass bandwidth of 20/40 to 20 only and then back again to 20/40.
    • Change the interval of tag to 500 ms 100. (This allows supposedly with the flow and the battery life).

All jumps. But after change the channel to a 44 superior to WMM and putting the Express with nothing around him to block the antenna inside, he seems to ignore a little less. It is likely that there are too many networks in my home nearby that are fighting in the spectra of bandwidth, but I hope someone may be able to offer something else.

I suggest anyone with the same problems to try some of the "fixes" I tried above reading.

    Thank you.

It may just be possible that you have a bad AirPort Express...

I'm assuming that you have a 2nd generation 802.11n AirPort Express AND that you have configured to join the wireless network provided by your gateway Arris... correct?

The router is less than 30 feet of my Airport express

As you probably already know the AirPlay flow is from your MacBook Pro or iPad 2 Air to the Arris first, then, the Express. In theory, you should get the best streaming when all these devices are co-located. As you can imagine, if you take a camera from another room or floor, the stream will pass through a number of walls, floors, ceilings, etc., which will affect the overall available bandwidth.

    • Change the setting of joint A/N to N only (since the Express a N)

Not quite correct. The Express supports modes radio 802.11a/b/g/n. 802. 11A only works on band 5 GHz. 802. 11 b or g only works on the 2.4 GHz band, and 802.11n can operate on either.

    • Activation and deactivation of WMM in the router configuration.

AirPort base stations do not QoS support for this parameter shouldn't have any effect.

    • Pass bandwidth of 20/40 to 20 only and then back again to 20/40.

This setting is usually only on the 2.4 GHz radio. All AirPort base stations do support 20 MHz channels across this tape. I suggest you leave this set to "20 option."

and put the Express with nothing around him to block the antenna inside, he seems to ignore a little less.

Most likely, it was the most effective solution. All wireless routers must be placed so that they are in a (possible) clear space for their antennas to be clear... especially of metal objects.

It is likely that there are too many networks in my residence nearby which are fighting in the spectra of bandwidth...

It is unfortunately a real problem... and maybe deserves to be studied more, if only to verify that it can be a cause. In an intense environment of Wi - Fi, most people will try to get the "best" of the performance of their network. This could mean, they have implemented their wireless routers to produce a network that can interfere with others without thinking.

At best, you can try to change the channels that you already find one located on a less used channel... but without duplication of canals, including on the 2.4 GHz band are very limited. (1, 6 or 11 to the United States).

  • How to extend a WiFi router network not Apple using Airport Extreme and Express?

My cable ISP company just gave me a new modem/router - a DG of Arris - 2470. For the last two years I used a cable modem independent older with a connected Airport Extreme (both located on the ground floor) and an Airport Express station on the floor as an Extender. I was very happy with the power of the signal around the House.

Since his arrival to the Arris router my signal has become very low to the floor. I would use my two Apple devices to extend/boost my network, but do not know how to do this.

    Thank you!

    Basically, you have two options:

    1. (Best overall performance of the network) Connect the extreme and Express on the Arris Ethernet gateway device and configure all for a traveling-type network. This would require an Ethernet connection between all routers that can be accomplished by either using Ethernet cable or the use of mains adapters.
    2. (The overall performance of the adequate network) Simply connect the extreme to the Arris Ethernet, then extend the extreme using the Express.

Which of these do you prefer?

  • I want to use a Terminal Airport Express to extend network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through another airport base.  Is there a way to do this?  I understand that Apple does not support this, but surely there must be a way to do this.

Can someone tell me how to set up an Airport Express Terminal to expand Network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through an airport as a base?  I understand that apple does not support this use, but my applecare Advisor said it's possible.  Thank you!

Unfortunately, your AppleCare Advisor is wrong if he or she has told you that an AirPort Express to extend wireless signal of a Fios router/modem.

Function of "Extend a wireless network" Apple is an exclusive feature that was designed by Apple engineers to extend the signal from another wireless only router from Apple. Thus, the AirPort Express... or any other router Apple besides... would not be able to extend wireless a Fios network.

SO... you have the possibility to locate the Airport Express where it is needed... And... Connect it to the Fios router/modem with a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, then the AirPort Express can 'extend' in this way.

Or... If you are ready to add a second AirPort Express, connect the first near Fios modem/router with an Ethernet cable, then the second Airport Express could extend the signal first Express wireless.

Another way to say the same thing, is that if you want an Apple AirPort router to extend wireless network... then you need two Apple routers to achieve this goal.

  • Light green quick plug - Airport Express A1088

    Hello

I have an Airport Express A1088, I moved into a new House, so I used it for 8 months.

Today I plugged it and when I plugged an infinite green flash very very fast with suspicion.

I search for anything on this question and reset factory is the main suggestion for the problem.

    It does not work:

-plug in the airport for a long time the reset button

-leave it plugged the airport then tap and hold the reset button

    -Plug/unplug the cables

I don't really know what to do.

    Any advise?

    Thank you

Unfortunately, the internal power supply on the AirPort Express can provide is no longer enough current to allow the Express function properly. This should in a product that is at least 8 years and as much as 11, since most routers designed for home use are engineered to operate for about 5 years.

Congratulations... you did much, much better than average with your AirPort Express Terminal.

If you're really handy with small electronic repairs and don't worry, spend time to saw carefully not open the case of the Express along the seam of middle to expose the electronics repair was possible. The drawback here is that you probably need to buy another second hand Express to get the parts needed for the repairs.

However, since this would imply also opened the second hand Express for the pieces to be cut, I think that you can understand that it would not make much sense to do it when you could simply replace the defective Express with a working model. Another option would be to invest in a new Express and go ahead.

    But it's your decision.
