Exchange virtual and Fusion 8 boot floppies

In my upgrade to El Capitan, I created a virtual copy of my Yosemite machine running on a VM disk.  that created a new machine of Yosemite, created a new virtual disk and then used carbon copy clone to copy my direct drive to the virtual one.  I have 2 drives.  "Macintosh HD" (SATA drive) and 'Vcopy (HDD SATA 2)'.  I can put Vcopy to be my boot drive and everything works fine starting at Yosemite, with the exception of a few programs and symbolic links etc. who (wrongly) assume that the root of the drive is "Macintosh HD."

Is it possible to edit the vmx file or the pursuit of preferences to share how both drives are visible in the virtual machine, so that my drive of "Vcopy" is effectively recognized as "disk Sata hard ' and Macintosh HD SATA 2 hard drive?

I am reluctant to experiment in the case where I break something and that's what I use to migrate slowly to my Live machine running El Capitan Yosemite.

Thank you very much

Jimmy

I just gritted my teeth and answered myself.

I have VMware fusion altogether and simply changed the designation of the sata0:0 and sata0:2

merger of restarted and the disks are correctly named.

I had to stop a merger, as the names came back to their old names if done while he was still running.

Problem solved and everything works normally now.

In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

Also ask them if it is possible to do the recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.

A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.

There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.

If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  • HP Pavilion m94021: boot floppies do not match computer

Some years, I bought a desktop computer HP Pavilion back to Office Depot.  They MADE the disks to start for me.  Now, I have a new hard drive and I put in the first boot floppies and he whirred around for awhile, looking as if she was doing something, and then I got the message that the boot floppies do not go with the computer.

I have an external hard drive and backup Carbonite on that hard drive that takes pictures of the system and the files are saved on their web site.  So far, they were not able to restore my system from the external hard drive, so I'm up to their highest level of technical support trying to figure how to get the operating system of the external hard drive to my new hard drive.

HP support wants me $150 for access to my external hard drive to get the operating system to load, but Carbonite said HP will not be able to do that because the external hard drive has a proprietary of Carbonite on her HP technicians will not be able to work around.

The model number of my computer is m94021.  I had on this operating system is Microsoft Windows 7 Professional.

  • Windows 8 slow since upgrade to Yosemite and Fusion 7

    Hello

I was previously running Windows 8 pro in Fusion 6 on the Mavericks. I had the computer virtual configured with 2 processors and 4 GB of RAM. The main applications that I use in Windows are:

    • Visual Studio 2013
    • SQL Server Express
    • SQL Server Management Studio
    • IIS Express
    • Google Chrome (for test and debug with Dev Tools)

This configuration has worked completely fine, almost as good as a native Windows PC. I've recently updated to Yosemite and Fusion 7.0.1 and upgrading VMWare Tools.

This has caused significant performance with my setup problems. More particularly:

    • The action I perform more is switching between VS2013 and Chrome (alt - tab), it was absolutely perfect and was virtually useful instant switching. Now that the same process can last between 1 and 10 seconds.
    • Chrome opening tools now takes on average about 5 seconds.
    • Doing an update of the DOM in the Chrome dev tools now takes a few seconds.
    • Attempt to inspect a DOM element (via the magnifying glass icon) now takes a few seconds.
    • Even switch between the tabs in Chrome now takes anywhere for 10 seconds, which is simply ridiculous. I never have more than about 5/6 Chrome tabs open at any time.

All the these was practically instantaneous in the old configuration.

All these things combined to me are totally unacceptable. Although they are all only small amounts of time on their own, when they are added together, it leads to huge amounts of frustration and ultimately of loads of useless waste of time.

I did used to close any unnecessary background applications/services, I increased the CPU to 4 cores and 6 GB RAM. Still no significant improvement.

To move a configuration which worked incredibly well and then supposedly "redevelopment" and end up with an installation that is considerably longer important are very frustrating. I'm hoping that someone somewhere has encountered something similar and may suggest something that I can do to make my setup get the somewhere near where it was before.

    Thank you very much

    Lee

Stop your virtual machine and change the mode of your material from 11 to 10 and restart your virtual machine.  Your performance should be back to what you expect.  Merger has MAJOR problems with equipment of level 11.

  • Yosemite and Fusion 7 - very very slow

    Hi guys,.

I have a problem with my iMac with Yosemite and Fusion 7. Everything works fine but I have very poor video performance. My VM work if I move the cursor of the mouse ONLY. If I don't do anything it stops to run everything! It seems to go in standby mode! With Mavericks and Fusion 6 it was perfect! Any help?

    Tanks!

You have fallen on an Apple bug, which affect all programs of hypervisor running on Yosemite on iMac mid-2011.  Apple is aware of the issue.

You can work around it by opening the Terminaland by running the following command:

    sudo nvram boot-args = debug = 0 x 10

Then, restart your Mac.  Merge should then perform normally.

  • Conversion error of an Exchange Server and a server files to 95%

    Hello

I have problems when I am trying to convert an Exchange Server and a file server. Two of them are physical servers that I'm trying to convert an advanced vsphere ESX infrastructure. The problem is that when the conversion process reach 95% fail and sometimes it says that the physical server restarts. Is there a recommendation to convert and Exchange Server. Because I also convert a SQL Server, and I don't know what to do.

I tell you that these conversions have tried to end the two server into production. Could this be the problem? I should stop all Microsoft Exchange services before you begin to convert the machine? Somewhere I found it is recommended all users to be disconnected from the server when you try to convert a machine, but I don't know if it's a suggestion or it is an institution. I thought that maybe the problem could be that the Exchange database cannot be suspended and that is because the process fails.

Can someone help me with this problem? On the other hand, is there another application that is used to convert a physical machine in virtual? I only know the VMware Converter.

    Thank you.

    Warlock.

While making the P2V conversion, it has always recommended to stop the services associated with the database, tools and application. This helps the conversion process ends without errors.

Have you checked that the vmware converter logs, errors it gives while doing the conversion?

For P2V conversion it is company known tool Platespin.Refer the link for more details below.

  • Virtual and Exchange2007 Cluster networks

    Hello

I'm currently in the planning phase of virtualization and the upgrade of our Exchange 2003 to exchange 2007 and the 2007 on esxi 3.5 version

I have 2 IBM x 3650 each server is connected to a SCSI Bay for storage.

The current (already in production) server has 2 network cards, the 2nd (new) Server 6 network adapters.

For the cluster (2008) GUEST OS, I need to assign 1 to talk on a private IP connection network card and 1 card network to talk to the local network. If the two guests were going to be on the same HOST, then I think it would be easier, but for redundancy they need to divide. I know what I have to do, which is assigned 1 network card PHYSICAL to a virtual network adapter on each server, which will be easier on the new server with more than 2 network cards, but on the NIC 2 would be the server, network adapters are associated, so I still would be able to send the private link to down one of them?

The servers are connected to a stack of Cisco, and I got 2 configured ports in a VLAN private for private sign, with a port as a trunk so that he can speak both the LAN and the private VLAN.

I just need a little help in the implementation of the virtual network adapter to the network card physical environment and apply on the HOST servers.

    your

    Dave

I just need a little help in the implementation of the virtual network adapter to the network card physical environment and apply on the HOST servers.

Create a Virtual Switch.  Assign a NIC (that is not in use).  Then, assign him VM to the virtual switch.  That's close enough, you can do from the VI Client software, command line not involved, it's all the gui.

  • Exchange 2007 and VMWare snapshots

    Hello

I did a few tests with Exchange 2007 and use it with VMWare. I ended up crashing the Exchange to the point that I could not restore it without making a recovery, so I decided to go back to a snapshot I took about five days earlier. Snapshot of restoration went well until I started the Exchange 2007. I could not Exchange databases to mount. I couldn't get around this problem and I had to reinstall to lose more mail databases.

Is there something with the snapshoting who does that? I know that running databases can be difficult snapshot safely, but oracle atleast never fell down due to a restore.

Your best bet and the cleanest method would be to create a series of scheduled tasks.

    1. Guest virtual stop at programmed time

    2. Snapshot of virtual hosts

    3. Power on virtual guest

This must be done for all the virtual hosts which depends on a database of any kind (Exchange, SQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc) If you plan on relying on instant VMware as a method of recovery after a disaster.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M50D-A-10W passing me all nuts "reboot and select proper boot device."

This has happened before and it was solved by ctr-alt-del and F12 to get into the BIOS where the date went back to some time in 2010 - after put so far and to change the boot device, everything worked fine... until the next day.

Now I get the screen "reboot and select good boot device ', but the F12 key does not; I also tried F2... the message keep multiplying, no BIOS...

In some cases the BIOS is only accessible by pressing the button turn off force on the lower side of the unit.

  • Reboot and select good Boot Device problem - my PC does not start!

    Hi all

Whenever I turn on my computer I get the message "Reboot and select proper boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected boot device and press a key.

I checked the diagonistics material and these are the results:

    Test CPU-

Hard drive: failure of the connection Test - Error Code: BIOHD1

    Memory - past

I don't think that the issue is a faulty connection. My reason to believe so because I think that I had a virus on my computer (I was not able to confirm) I tried to delete the last time I was able to use the computer. Then I turned off the computer to restart, but unfortunately, that's when I got this error message.

I had this problem once before (about 3 years ago) and I was not able to solve this problem, so I just stopped using the PC. Then one day my Dad turned on the computer (a few months later) and it worked all of a sudden.

Anyone know what this problem is? How can I solve this problem?

Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you very much for your time and effort!

    Additional information:

It was originally a windows 7 PC, but I have upgraded to windows 10, which is the current operating system.

    Product: HP p6620f

I managed to start my PC again.

I have unplugged all connections and left it that way for about 24 hours. Then I plugged everything back in and all of a sudden the PC worked again. I don't know if it will last, but right now it works.

I'll write another post if something changes.

    Hi all

My laptop recently bought C50-B-13N moving 39 updates yesterday, when it crashed.

seem to have accidentally deleted the data on the disk.

I tried the F12 approach to , but my Start Menu does not have this option.

I'm frustrated that the new laptop played if bad, given that I have had Toshiba devices for about 10 years.
In addition, I am disappointed that potentially serious consequences to remove the drive were clearly deprecated for me, before you start.

    Please give us a solution.
The laptop is 4 months old.

In addition, how can I start the process of an application under my warranty?
A dissatisfied customer of experience to date.

    Kind regards

    CGI

I seem to have accidentally deleted the data on the disk.

Obviously the HARD drive recovery procedure is not possible now because the HARD drive recovery files have been deleted.

I guess you have not created such recovery media as recommended in the user's manual.

Well, in this case, you have a chance to order a missing middle of recovery and recover the laptop to factory condition.

Means of recovery can be ordered here:

  • Long boot time and the gel boot drive selection window

Hello. I have a problem with my MacBook Pro 13 retina "(2015 at the beginning).

My mac is about 4 minutes of cranking up about a quarter of the time and it is not related to the problem of the "boot disk select parameters. The computer just hangs before it's anything related to the start-up procedure. It's just a black screen with no interaction with the mouse, no noise and no keyboard input. It does not recognize the 'option key ' (used to get into the disk boot selector) until I pressed it for several minutes, and then the boot drive selector freezes as well.

I don't have any external drives connected, and already tried SMC reset, reset the PRAM and reinstalling the operating system (normal wipe and wipe any partition).

I always have Apple Care left. Help, please. Thank you.

    Hi Herojeff02:

It seems that you have some SSD problems.

Have you tried to boot safe mode. Try safe mode if your Mac does not commissioning - Apple Support

You can start in recovery mode by pressing command + R and then using disk utility to check your SSD.

See the following links: OS X: on OS X Recovery - Apple Support

If you have Apple Care, I'd do an appointment at the Genius Bar. It could also be a hardware problem.

    Hello

I think that your HARD drive is bad.
I think that you have not checked it correctly in the BIOS.

Please go to BIOS once more, by pressing F2.
Now on the first page, you will see date, time, details of CD/DVD drive and you should also see the details of the disk (size, name)
    You see that?

Otherwise, the HARD disk is not initialized by the BIOS and this means that, because of the fall, the HARD disk has been damaged.
