exchanging the crio since the Project Explorer controller

I made a mistake and chose the wrong controller cRIO. Now I find I have different controller, but my whole project is built with all the modules and the screws. Is there a way to simply edit the current to the right controller!

Ta

Hi kwaris,

You can add a new controller to your project and then only move the elements of the evil to the correct controller controller.

You cannot move all the items at once, but you can move items in groups. This will ensure that the project is rebuilt correctly.

For items you can not move, please try a copy and paste operation. This is the case for information such as the construction specifications.

Once everything is moved or copied, you can remove the bad controller.

  • How to create a Global Variable through the Project Explorer

    Hello world!

I know how to create a global variable (in a vi through the range of functions...).

but I'm missing a way to create one via the Project Explorer.

It's a missing feature or just this documentation (and the intuition of myself) are missing?

    It would be very convenient.

Right click on my computer > new > new... > select Global Variable.

EDIT: although I agree with Gerd (he probably wondering why you need so we can recommend a better way ), I rarely use them in easy to write once - read many applications such as security levels overall program at initialization (VER) to read later, but NOT modified.  I know it would be better to make a good class, functional Global Variable (FGV) or a motor Action (AE) but globals ARE practical and safe IF used wisely.

  • Police in the Project Explorer problem

I'm under LabVIEW 2013 SP1 and I just installed DAQmx 9.8. After installation, it seems that something has changed with my fonts throughout LabVIEW. Fonts keep intersect or cropped. This applies to everything from the start screen, in the Project Explorer to some of my VI font sizes. I went and checked my settings 'System of the police' and 'Application' but does not seem to solve the problem. See the attached picture

He ended by referring to the display settings of Windows 7. For example do a right-click on the desktop, select Personalize, and then select "display". The window scaling system at Large and I had to change in the medium.

Perhaps, I got a quick access key when installing DaqMX. Very strange, but now its fixed.

  • explamation point error in the Project Explorer near cRIO

Thanks to anyone who can help me...

I created a project for my cRIO 9074 with several modules and is works well on my desktop PC...
However, I have to use, instead of the desktop PC computer, a laptop (two computers with Windows 7 platform) which has installed all the necessary software, which is also on the desktop.
The project that I transferred to the laptop has an exclamation point next to the name of the cRIO and he says: 'for the selected item plug-in is not installed on your system or the plug-in has an expired license. Please contact National Instruments. »
On both computers: desktop and laptop PC the cRIO is fully seen by MAX.
We have all the licenses as University, and anyway the same software has been installed on two computers (both licenses).

Thanks for any information that can help me,

    Hello

This exclamation point indicates that part of the software is not installed or that the software is not enabled on/for that PC.

Is it possible to posta screenshot where exactly the exclamation point appears in the project?
This will allow me to get more certainty about what is causing the problem.

You can also check in the License Manager OR (start > programs > National Instruments > NI License Manager) if the LabVIEW Real-time and other modules are enabled correctly there?
The square next to the software modules must be green in this case.
If you have some orange or red squares, it could indicate that some software was not enabled.
A screenshot of the window would be useful for debugging more the issue.

To check if all necessary software and drivers are installed, I'd need a MAX Report from two PCs:
-You can create it from MAX by selecting file > create a report
' - In the next window, you can select 'My system' and Support '.

Can you do this for both pc and view zip files, so that I can compare the versions of software installed?

  • XControls not found in the Project Explorer

In accordance with the LABVIEW help section create you an XControl by go to your project and in the project, right click on Explorer window workstation and select new' XControl in the context menu. The problem is that it is not available in my menu. I have that control, library, Variable and class.

What license level LabVIEW do you have? XControls are included in professional and above, then you will not be able to create one in basic or Full.

  • can not see Add targets and devices in the Project Explorer

    Hello!

I think I have a strange question. I have the evaluation version of Labview 2010. I am trying to add my cRIO 9004 to a project. I'm just trying to follow the instructions in the getting started with manual cRIO. It is said, add crio to the project by project root right clicking and selecting NEW > ADD TARGETS AND DEVICES. The problem is I can't see the link to the NEW, but once I click that I see not a link under "add new target or device" appear, instead, I see the dialog box to open a NEW FILE LABVIEW appear. everywhere in distress forum/basic knowledge/support of shooting and get started articles have mentioned project root right click > select NEW > select Add a target or peripheral >, as if she IS supposed TO APPEAR STANDARD in all new projects! But I'm not! I do not understand what Miss me. The version of software that I have are below:

    the cRio:

    OR VISA 5.0

    NEITHER RIO 3.0
    RT LV 8.6

and he allied himself with what I installed on my host.

I can communicate with the device of cRIO times using MAX as well as ping at the windows command prompt command.

    Any help would be great!

    Thank you!

    Rajesh

After you have installed the evaluation version of LV 2010, you reinstall all of the other drivers, as for the cRIO?

  • Do a right click in the Project Explorer is sometimes slow

I have a big project of the AF with a lot of classes and libraries. I only really use these two (lvclass and lvlib) to structure and organize the project. Right click on VI sometimes takes a terribly long time to load, say up to 10 seconds, depending on the library/class. It appears to be vaguely related to how many things the owners have libraries/classes. What exactly is causing this loading time? Any ideas how I could get rid of this significant disadvantage?

Here is more information and a few thoughts:

    • Windows 8.1
    • LabVIEW 2015 / 32 bit (I can't say for sure, but I think that I had no such problem on earlier versions 2014 and 2013)
    • Mass of compilation of all of the project (taken as 2 hours) had no effect

Thanks for all the ideas and resources. I'm very, very happy to announce that this particular fix https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-44159 (fix for the issue of AF project provider performance) made my problem disappear. Time has been reduced from ~ 7 sec less than a half second. Wonderful! That, to me, proves false the idea that the mere fact of having hundreds of classes or a large AF would make your current IDE experience terrible.

  • Is there a way to keep the libraries Project Explorer to 'save '?

We use a source control tool (accurev) for storage of our common libraries.  When you pull a library of accurrev to use in a new project, accurev places a lock file read-only on the new library, which we want, we don't want a developer accidentally change their local copy of the library.  However, when you add the library (a lvlib) and click on "Save all" in the Project Explorer, the Project Explorer tries to save libraries that are read-only and barfs errors everywhere.  You can leave all the errors and click on 'save without guests' but it is very annoying and slows down development.  Is there a way to tell Labview is not to save the library, only the screw?

    Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately, no, as far as I know. There is an option for multiplex unalterable screws as locked, but it does not extend to libraries. You can post a suggestion in the forum to exchange ideas of LabVIEW.

  • build specifications have disappeared in the 2012 LabVIEW Project Explorer

I have LabVIEW 2012 Professional Edition and I checked in to National Instruments License Manager that the professional development system, and the Application Builder are both "green".

I noticed that when I open an existing project or create a new project, the construction specifications section disappeared!

No idea what would cause this to disappear?

    Thank you

    FabiolaDelaCueva,

In the Project Explorer, try looking in the framework project--> filters see and make sure that the construction specifications is checked. Here is a link to a knowledge base article OR that might be useful:

  • Convert the project in real time

I started to develop a routine that (finally) will be "split" between a host PC and a remote PXI, using LabVIEW Real-time.  I usually test these things on the side PC and create them using LabVIEW project.  I just started a new 'project' and build first the host code.  However, I simply said "New project" and got a "project without real-time targets.  Is it possible to add a 'target' to this project, or what I need to start over with a new project explicitly in real time?  Is the (only) way to do this by selecting new project from the main menu of LabVIEW Real-time (2010)?

Bob Schor (who should know the answer to that now...)

    Bob,

All you have to do is right click on the name of your project (in the Project Explorer window) and select new > targets and devices. Select yout real-time target. From there, you can right-click on this target RT and tell New > VI, which will create a VI targeted to run on this RT controller.

There is really no such notion as "a project in real time. All projects are the same, but I suppose a real-time project is one that contains a real-time target in it.

    See you soon,.

  • problems with the project of example LabVIEW FPGA

I'm trying to adapt the example project record on CompactRIO and LabVIEW FPGA Waveform Acquisition for my hardware, but can't seem to do things. I'm just following the instructions in the tutorial, but can not make sense out of section adapt this example to your hardware project, in particular, the instruction to "Drag FPGA Main.vi in the Project Explorer in the Open FPGA VI service window reference VI." Can someone explain on what is supposed to happen here? BTW, the target hardware that I'm doing this work on is a cRIO-9068 with some C series i/o modules.

Finally, I came across the answer. For anyone else who may encounter this problem, the attached screenshot is worth a thousand words.

I'm looking everywhere where a shared Variable is used in my project. Right-clicking does not provide a find. The display hierarchy does not help. In the Project Explorer, the appellants find displays only the names of the screw called, not the many places where the call is made.
