Exclamation dictation command returns 'exclamation point '?

On my MacBookPro, dictation commands generally work very well, but the Point of Exclamation command does not work. It returns "exclamation point"when the documentation says it should return "!" Any thoughts on how to solve this anomaly?

Many thanks - Tom

My CD drive on my Dell 2400 appears disabled (on Admin Managemnt yellow exclamation point) as this is my plugin dvd recordr/cd player recorder. How can I fix? Thank you

Locate your CD drive integrated in the device list manager.

Do a right click on it, it should appear a window with "Disable"... 'Enable '.

    Click Activate.

It is a possibility, the other is...

The fact that you are also using EXTERNAL units could be the 'reason' why one integrated disabled to start with.

The USB in the BIOS setting must be wrong... to do this.

In addition, the "HALT ON...» ' Command, in the BIOS, will not. (It is possible that the "Halt" command is... ON "ALL ERRORS").

    Assign to this... "WITHOUT ERRORS".

This should cure the problem of USB connection (for external use) disable your "built-in" CD player

  • Lightroom 4.3 - exclamation points on all the files in the library module after migrating to OS x 10.8 PC

    Hello

I copied my Windows 7 PC catalog (and photos) to a new iMac OXS 10.8.

4.3 Lightroom installed on iMac (with photos and catalog in the same relative locations as previously in the folder of photos)

In the Lightroom library on the iMac, all my photos have an exclamation point at the top, and when you open one of them, I get a comment suggesting the metadata are in conflict.

The actaul on photo metadata seems fine.

Is there a global command with which I can cancel those exclamation points?

    Thank you

    Dave

    Yes, there is.

In > edit > catalog settings > metadata tab uncheck .

The behavior you observe is an old bug in Lr, and it occurs when the box mentioned above.

You can leave checked and live with the exclamation point, because the "metadata conflict" warning is not dangerous for your images.

This warning indicates that the Lr catalog and the xmp file have not given exactly the same. But as Lr is always working with the catalog, a xmp file that is not identical with the catalog data does no harm.

In fact, you don't need files xmp for Lr to work perfectly.

The XMP files have essentially two functions:

    (a) they ensure that changes to Lr images are displayed correctly in Adobe Bridge;

    (b) they can be a life saver in case your catalog is corrupt and you do not have a backup catalog. But because not all catalog data is stored in xmp, it would be better to save the catalogue regularly rather than rely on the xmp files.

ITunes 11000 lists all titles but more than 7000 have the exclamation point, which means that they went WHERE they are.

My classic ipod died so I bought a new, came to download my music and cant. who or what has nicked all my songs?

This does not necessarily mean they are gone, it means that iTunes can't find them where he thinks they are. Have you done something in your iTunes library lately? You can try to play a song or two and let iTunes to try to recover their locations. If it does not, a user of ASC here has a wide range of operating on iTunes and Windows tips. How can I find the music marked with an exclamation point in my itunes library?

    Hello there rdgernnr!

I certainly don't want to find the songs that show the "!" and get them to play correctly. If you have not yet done it, read this article: If you see an exclamation point next to your items in iTunes - Apple Support

    More precisely:

Correct the path of the media file

Follow these steps to help find the correct location of the file iTunes media:

    1. In iTunes on your Mac or PC, select the song, album, movie, or television show that has the exclamation next to him.
    2. In the MenuBar at the top of your screen, computer or at the top of the iTunes window choose Edition > read the information.
If you are using Windows and you don't see the menu bar, Learn how to turn it on.
    3. When you see a message asking if you want to locate the file, click search.
      • If you know the location of the file, point to it iTunes and try to read your content.
      • If you do not know the location of the file, search for it:
Mac: Press ⌘ and space control your keyboard, and then type the name of the movie title, app, song, album or artist.
Windows: Press the Windows on your keyboard, and then type the name of the movie title, app, song, album or artist. If your keyboard does not have a Windows key, press the Escape (Esc) and control (Ctrl) on your keyboard.
      • If the file is on a network drive or external, plug on the volume of disk or external network.
      • If you find your objects in the trash or recycle bin, restore them to their previous location:
Mac: Control-click or right-click on the item and choose put back.
Windows: Right-click on the item and choose restore.
    4. Once you retrieve the file, use Get new Info to locate the file, and then point iTunes to the correct location.

    See you soon!

  • Satellite Pro A300-22F - WLAN is listed with a yellow exclamation point

    I just bought an A300-22nd.
WIFI does not work - in Device Manager the conroller of network (under 'other devices') has an excalamation mark on it - the problem is not installed driver.

Laptop came with a sheet of additive of toshiba on problems with wireless connectivity - which goes through how to install the driver. Two problems - the leaflet is reserved to L300 L300D and copying is of such poor quality that I can't read the instructions!

I know that this phone has WLAN (a, d, g and draft n), and it has a switch for him - what is on and lights up.

At the moment I am connected to the router broadband - not much use as my PC is at the front desk even - I need a wireless connectivity!

  • Satellite Pro A110 - in BIOS exclamation Point in front of the HARD drive

    Satellite A110 Pro PSAB1C-GM80XE

Question is this. SATA CONTROLLER TOAST the laptop?

    Story.

It seems as if the laptop hard drive has failed.
Prior to the laptop, it would get BSOD.
It would, however, go back to windows XP.

After that, sometimes it wouldn't restart, he would try to boot from lan as if there is no hard drives.
    I check the bios.

There is a! in front of the model of the drive. I can't change it, reset default does not change.
No update of the bios was already made.
Page drivers laptop says I have to install the update to the bios from windows xp... I can't do it of course.

I bought a new hard drive for the laptop. WD Scorpio Blue (pretty standard) 160Gig

The laptop recognize model to drive hard in the bios, but once again with the exclamation point in front of the name of the template.

BIOS can see, but nothing else. No windows CD is able to watch the HD.

Once again, it is the sata controller or can someone point me to an update of the bios I can do with a USB key.
Should I just throw the laptop in the trash? I expect to give it a new life with a new hard drive and own bones.

    Hello

What is the BSOD STOP Code?

If 0x0000007B, it means that Windows cannot find a SATA driver for the SATA controller. To solve this BSOD, set the SATA Mode in the BIOS in "COMPATIBILITY" mode, or use a USB floppy with the SATA driver on this subject during the installation of Windows. Press F6 when you are prompted to install a 3rd party storage driver.

Or otherwise, to use the original Toshiba Recovery disk to install Windows.

I do not mean the exclamation point in the BIOS that the HARD drive is faulty, it means that the HARD drive has the highest priority boot on my laptop.

  • Satellite C660 - no access Internet - yellow exclamation point appears

    Hello

I have a toshiba Satellite c660 and there serious internet problems.
When I turn it on, it says that I don't have access to the internet but when I try to use it, a yellow exclamation point will appear then down down on the wifi icon.

If I click on the internet icon and it says im connected to the internet, but I have no internet access.
I'm really confused as to what to do. Internet days might work for a while and then all of a sudden the exclamation point appears there and I can't get working again.

If anyone has any ideas on what is wrong or how to fix Tournay would be GREAT. as for now I can't use the internet wireless on my laptop.

    Thank you.

    Hello

I think there could be a problem with your WLan router.
I recommend to reset the router and try again

If this is not enough, clear all settings of encryption like encryption, password encryption, mac address filtering, etc. and try to connect again to open WLan.
But this just for testing purposes

If the connection would be functions, you must configure the router once more.

  • exclamation point for songs matching when the file is deleted

It doesn't stop of getting more bizarre.  When I delete the songs to get the version of iTunes, an exclamation point is carried by the song instead of the cloud with the arrow. I double-click on the song and he said: "the 'X' song could not be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate? "Then I hit Cancel it. He then removed the exclamation point, puts the cloud with the arrow through it, as usual, ready for me to click on it and download. In addition, he can now play the song. I have thousands of them in my collection. What I have to double-click on each song and click Cancel so that it it is labeled correctly for iTunes to download game. Yes, I checked library iCloud.

It is the latest version of iTunes 12.3.2.35.  Any suggestions on how I can select all the pieces with this problem and that iTunes is to define each song correctly?

    Hello

Where are located the original songs? What happens when you play these songs on your computer?

  • iTunes can't locate my music. When I try to play a song one get an exclamation point and the message "the song could not be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate?

I don't know if I am posting this in the right place. If she must be somewhere else please let me know.

When I try to play a song I get an exclamation point next to the song and a pop up that says: "the song could not be used because the original file cannot be found. You want to locate? »

I use Windows 10 and iTunes version 12.3.1.

It's the path statement where the music is currently located on my hard drive:

If I click on a single song from within File Explorer, it opens iTunes and the song plays without problem.

To try to solve this problem, I went in 'Advanced' in 'Préférences' and changed the iTunes media folder location to match the location of the files on my disk hard as you can see below.

Unfortunately, it did not work either. iTunes is always gives me the same message that it cannot locate the original files. I REALLY hope someone can help me finally tried for weeks to solve this problem.

    Thank you!

Now iCloud is down, if something happens on the end of apples.
