Existing on the new VM virtual disk mounting problem

Hi guys,.

I have a problem, try to attach an existing (created with the command "vmkfstools") to a virtual machine drive.

Background: I want to set up a cluster 2 vm nodes, with a quorum of virtual disk. I have already 2 - vm, and after the creation of the virtual disk to use as the quorum disk and trying to attach the virtual disk to a virtual machine, I got the following error:

"Device"vim.vm.device.VirtualSCSIController"is a SCSI controller, engaged in sharing the bus."

I use the following command to create the virtual disk (used for the guide "Setup for Microsoft Cluster Service" VMware):

vmkfstools hard - c

I also tried to add the indicator:-a free

But none can do!

What could be the problem here? And how can I solve it?

Thanks in advance...

Martin.

Make sure that the virtual machines is not any snapshots. See this article:

  • How to upgrade the existing using the new version of Muse Web site

I've recently updated to the last version of Muse (2015.0) and may not know how to upgrade my existing Web site. Used to, I would just click on publish and it would update in real time on my site. Now, I don't see how. Someone out there who can help me with this? Thank you

    Hi HeikeDN001,

With the recent release of Muse CC there was a little problem with publication to business Catalyst Control Panel. It has been resolved locally and will be available in the next version of muse. For now, you can try a workaround to deal with the problem. You must use this workaround only once and then Muse will begin to function properly.

    • Create an empty site of Muse.
    • Publish it to BC with any name at random.
    • Once the new published file close and open your original file.
    • Now, try to publish your original file and you will be able to see all the options you could see as soon as possible.

Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

    Kind regards

  • With the help of recovery on the new hard drive disks

    Hello

I have an old t160.uk of Pavilion.  The hard disk starts to sound a bit grumpy.  I have a spare I want to replace it with.  Can I create recovery discs using the partition, and then replace the hard drive and reinstall windows xp on the new drive? or the recovery disks only works on the original hard drive?

    See you soon,.

Hirroshi wrote: what determines if the new hard drive will be compatible with the recovery disk?  Could I connect the new hard drive in another Bay and try to use the recovery disk, before removing my old hard drive?

Hello Hirroshi, it seems that drives hard very little HP only work in an HP computer, or so I said. I think it has to do with some code that HP puts in the Master Boot Record, but that's just a guess. I read on the Forum that this is the case.

I suggest that you delete the partition on the replacement hard drive, and then create a new partition and format the hard drive. You should be able to use the recovery disk, if they are not damaged and that you have a valid burn.

You can try to install the replacement hard drive in the system you propose, and it can work very well. It's certainly worth a try.

Here is a link that shows how to perform a recovery facility when a hard drive is replaced.

  • Replacement of host existing with the new host/material

We are trying to replace our old 5.0 ESXi hosts that cannot be upgraded to ESXi 5.1 with new hardware that will support ESXi 5.1 and beyond.  Existing hosts are members of a cluster of vCenter vCenter has been updated to the latest version  We are preinstalled ESXi 5.1 on new hosts and tried to set them up according to the configurations of existing hosts, except for host names and network IPs management.

First of all, are we on track to replace existing hosts?

Second, what are the next steps we would take?

We have read the various messages that seem to follow the steps below, but want to ensure that our incense are applied correctly, we don't miss any major or minor measures, for iSCSI, reusing names existing ESXi hosts and IPs or something else causing the replacement to fail.

    1. the vMotion VMs to host existing to another host

    2. remove the existing host to vCenter

    3. stop the existing host

    4. turn on the new host

    5. Add the new host to vCenter cluster

    6. apply the configuration changes

    7. the vMotion VMs to new host

    8. follow the same steps in the next new host

    We lose all the steps?

You can use any cloud service, download files in the creative cloud and access, you can also use third-party services like dropbox etc.

I currently have a Behance ProSite I pay for separately each month.  I think about the purchase of a membership of creative cloud and see a ProSite is included in the subscription.

Can I use my existing with my new account CC ProSite?

If so, what happens to my current monthly payments I have do to Behance?

Would like to have this issue resolved before I have buy my CC membership as my ProSite is the main site of my company, I can't lose it or have done anyway by signing up to CC.

    Hello

"Can I use my existing with my new account CC ProSite?" - Yes you can! You should just make sure that your ProSIte account is associated with the e-mail address that you used to pay for creative cloud (if this isn't the case, you can switch what Adobe ID associated with you here: https://www.behance.net/portfolio/promote )

"If so, what happens to my current monthly payments that I do to Behance?" - you not will be charged again. (You can always send us at help.behance.com to make sure)

  • 'No operating system found' when you create the new machine virtual de DVD

Hi, I had problems with the creation of a new machine virtual (Server 2008 R2).  After the initial creation, I turn on - then starts immediately to the network.  I tried to change the boot order in the BIOS and even removed the NIC via Virtual Machine properties.  I built VMs repeatedly using this method.  I use an ISO DVD that I know, I created works.  I select "connect to E:\. "that is my DVD drive on my laptop and have restarted (loses connection every time the DVD player).  I even changed the type of E1000 VMXNET3 network adapter - makes no difference.

I feel good and truiy perplexed!

    Any ideas?

You can connect the ISO remote only when the virtual machine is running.

I suggest you set a delay (or get into the BIOS), in the property of the VM, press ESC during POST to enter the Boot Menu, select CD but wait to confirm.

Connect the ISO and now start to begin.

  • Discover the type of virtual disk

Is it possible to know what type of disc I had selected during the creation of the virtual disk on Linux and Windows?

    Thank you!

IMHO the createType is written in the first two lines of the vmdk itself file. Use a text editor or head xxx.vmdk under linux.

  • Increase the size of virtual disk Volume

If initially, I create a RAID10 array with four drives and install ESX3i, then later add two drives to increase the size of the RAID10 array, I can use the extra space for VMS ESX3i without erasing the data?

    Thank you!

    Bob HHSU

RAID10 on RAID5 due to performance. I 4x500Gb then RAID10 gives me about 1 TB usable, that should be enough space for a couple of years for my application

Okay, maybe that's true, but you are only working with a few axes.  RAID 10 in maybe 20 disks RAID 10 is perhaps better performance, but not big thing with only 2 pins.  If you don't have the space, very well.  I hope it works for you.

In addition, the machine has six spans and so I have the ability to add more than two readers and increase the table to about 1.5 TB. My dilemma is now maybe I should add plus two other readers from the beginning if ESX cannot cultivate virtual disks.

OK, then if you have disks now, why don't put you in now.  Even if you can grow the disk later, why re-work.  This seems really odd.  Do everything now and do it.  If you do not have to do it later.

VM the VMFS, correct? If I have too much space allocated to a virtual computer and he needs for another, I can reduce the allocation?

Yes, but again, it is more work.  Start small.  It is easier to add than SUBTRACT.  Start with only 50 GB, 100 GB.  OS file systems growth is much easier, the fight must convert a copy of the SAME virtual machine, which requires even more work...

Break your table into smaller pieces. ESX requires a minimum of about 10 GB, even if you can make bigger it. ESXi requires only 1 GB. Data warehouses may not be less than 2 TB. You may be able to use virtual disks raid based to break the table.

  • VMs in transition to the new host - host license expiration problem

I have a fully licensed host ESX 3 (+ VC with license server Foundation) and I'm in the process of setting up 2 x ESX 3.5 and hosts SAN new to replace the one 3.02.

I have not quite allowed to have all 3 of the hosts running at the same time.

I was evaluating esx 3.5 on the hosts, but they are now expired and I don't have the chance to test VCB.  (had held by other issues and a holiday in the middle)

I don't want to redo a straight change in case there are problems with the virtual machines on the new host, so I had to migrate virtual machines one or two at a time. (which is also a pain as the 2 x host ESX 3.5 of assessment will not add to the virtual Center due to licensing)

Other that reinstall ESX 3.5 to get another 60 days (and having to reconfigure ISCSI etc) is there a better way to do it?

Reinstall everything 3.5 host for a new evaluation period.
