Explorer Windows stopped working & restarting issue
Whenever I try to go to my system properties I get a message saying "Windows Explorer has stopped working" I get a message saying "Windows Explorer restarts. I tried to do a clean boot and it has always the same thing. I also tried a Sfc scan and it found no problem. When I returned to Mode without failure, the problem seems to go away, so I'm a little lost on what else to do. I checked my history of reliability of computers and has detected an error with Explorer.EXE
I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit.
WHQL certified is "Windows Hardware Quality Labs' certified that is to say, a 'signed' driver, not. for example, a BETA version.
Since you seem to have a control of the laptop, the Web site of the manufacturer of your laptop for the last graphics driver or you can try this link AMD:

Explorer Windows stopped working when opening a folder
Hello
I get this error "Windows Explorer has stopped working" for the past few months, every time I try to open a particular folder that contains 10-15 .avi files. This folder is located on an external hard drive and when I plugged the hard drive of a computer running XP it's the same thing. It throws this error and gives me 2 options,
1. check online for a solution and restart the program.
2. restart the program.
According to the option that I chose it closes all the windows in the Solution Explorer, and nothing happens.
I tried to copy the file from external hard disk to the local computer and the same thing happens when I try to access it. I don't think that's the problem with my computer as the same thing happens also on the XP machine.
Please suggest what to do.

Explorer Windows stopped working, and it wont let me run cmd as administrator.
A few months ago, I got the error message "Windows Explorer has stopped working". He asks if I want such online for a solution, or close the program. I looked online and everyone says to run cmd as administrator, and then type Sfc/scannow, but when I right click on cmd after a search on the start menu, it says that it has stopped working again. I also tried to run cmd as an admin using Crlt-shirt-entry, but he always says that it has stopped working. I use Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit.

Hi Sabrina Awuah Aning
(1) since when are you facing this problem?
(2) when exactly it happens?
Looks like the thread you are referring has been moved or merged.
Method 1: Run the fixit available in the links below and check if that makes a difference
Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically
Difficulty of broken desktop shortcuts and common system maintenance tasks
Note: Fixit would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of data loss from that particular area.Method 2: You can follow the steps described in the article below, which deals with a similar question
Error message when you log on to Windows Vista: "Windows Explorer has stopped working".

Whenever I'm right in the middle to rename the foldr on my desktop files (files are listed as thumbnails), Windows Explorer stops, checks & restarts. solution says download & ffdshow.ax... now install... unsubscribe ffdshow.ax. Download and install does not clear the problem tried to cancel the registration but can't find how to unregister. I found how to enroll, but not to cancel the registration. Same problem persists.
I use this computer for my photography business website management and it becomes a major PITA trying to do business with something that constantly wants to make my life miserable.
Any help would be so appreciate4d
Thank you
Thanks for your help, but I managed to get the issue resolved. I had to do a complete clean reinstall. I got that Windows Explorer has stopped working once, and it's quite earlier. If I feel it once again, I'll Act of when it occurs. Once again... Thanks for your time.

AppName = Windows ExplorerHello David,.
Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft Forum.
I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to help us better understand the issue.
- You did it all changes (hardware or software) on your computer before the show?
- When you get this error message?
This problem may be due to one of the following problems:
- You are using an outdated or corrupted video driver
- System files on your PC can be damaged or do not correspond with other files
- You may have an infection of viruses or malware on your PC
- Some applications or services that are running on your computer may be responsible for Windows Explorer to stop working
I suggest to try the steps in the following Microsoft article and you want to avoid the steps that you have already tried and check if it helps.
Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2694911/en-us
Note
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Important:
When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.
ATTENTION:
For now, skip the step of upgrade in Place.
Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
Kind regards

Explorer Windows stopped working - by clicking on the icons in Control Panel
I discovered that when I go into Control Panel and try to use the programs icon features as soon as I click I get "windows that explore has stopped working" and it will restart windows Explorer.
Playing around I found if I just go to control panel and then close the window, I get the same error!
Argh! How can I fix it?
Hello
Please apply the following patch:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/978433 (Windows Explorer crashes and then restarts when you access an element of Panel of others on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 )
Click on the link view and request hotfix downloads select the platform (x 86 or x 64) and type in your email twice and enter the captcha ad click request hotfix.
After 1 minute, you have an email with the link to download an exe file. Use the password is contained in the email to retrieve the update.
Install the update and restart, now, the problem should be solved.
If the issue is not fixed, please download this reg from my SkyDrive file:
http://CID-128fc518635be2dc.SkyDrive.live.com/self.aspx/.public/Ms%20Foren/registry/WER%5E_Explorer.regand double click on the file to import.
When Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service creates a dmp under C:\Localdumps. Please download the file to your public Skydrive folder and post the link here. I take to the dump, maybe I can see the cause.

Hello
(1) have you made changes before the start of this issue?
(2) you receive an error code?
If you are unable to run a scan for viruses in normal mode, then you can do it in safe mode with network.
Method 1: If you think that maybe it's a Virus attack on this folder and then you can go ahead and perform a virus scan on your computer by clicking on the link below
http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx
Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Method 2: Check if the same problem occurs in safe mode with network.
Please follow the link on how to start the computer in safe mode with network below.

Method 3: Error: Windows Explorer has stopped working

If you haven't tried the "last known good configuration" among the Advanced startup options then do that first. If this does not help, you must run the System File Checker to search for possible system problems. Then, you must run the upgrade from the system tool and then see if you are able to run the SP2 update. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
