export from lightroom in the ' more high resolution possible?

Heres a pickle:

I finished stills for a movie on Sunday. It is unusual in that the mounting will change the pictures in the final movie.

I work with the Publisher to determine exactly what format he wants these images in. The fim is carried out with HD video, and the Publisher keeps telling me he wants the images in the "absolute native RAW image pixel dimensions.

I shot with a canon 5 d Mark II raw images, technically speaking, I think it would be approximately 5 616 x 3 744 (of course, this varies for each image, but this is the data that I read on the sensor of the camera).

I shot about 1,000 images, so to produce 1,000 images, released as TIFF, to something like 4 000 pixels each seems crazy about me and unnecessary, but maybe I'm wrong... Can someone provide entries?

Thanks 1million

San Fran Ellen

If the images are intended to be displayed full-screen (like a still, a timelapse, stop or motion), you can give the person frames size HD (HD 1920 x 1080 or 2K size 2048 x 1536). To be safe, I would use 16 bit TIFF with ZIP compression depth. Any editing tool should read that.

If images must be handled in edition (zoom, cropping,...), you might want to give the resolution of 4K (4096 x 2160).

Raw files (DNG, NEF,...) will probably not be loaded in an editor (CPF, first, avid,...).

Not knowing the details, a safe bet might be 2K TIFF.

  • Export in Lightroom and the size of resolution

    Hi all

I have a recent Bridge/Photoshop convert Lightroom/Photoshop. I want to start using Lightroom to resize my images instead of Photoshop. But, if I really crop an image and export to 1440 x 960 (at 150 PPI), I run the risk of resizing the image, I don't want to. I understand that there is the "don't resize" button in Lightroom.

My question: what is ignored if Lightroom needs to increase the size of the picture based on my entries and that "do not resize" is checked?

Here is my old workflow in Photoshop (customer wants these dimensions)

    RAW: 5184 x 3456 at 300PPI

Resize to 150 DPI (which becomes dimensions 2592 x 1728)

    Resize to 1440 x 960 to 150 DPI

    Save in sRGB JPG

But, sometimes, if I really crop an image I can't get 1440 x 960 at 150 DPI and must keep the PPI to 300.

    ....

If I export an image really cropped in Lightroom to 1440 x 960-150 DPI (not resizes not verified) and it cannot meet the dimensions to this resolution that get is ignored?

The customer wants what dimensions? If it is for the use of the layout or print a specific dpi AND size in inches must be specified. I suggest to ask the customer to provide both of these numbers.

In your example above, here is what you have:

2592 x 1728 @150 ppi = 17,28 in. x 11.52 in. Until the client tries to do? Makes no sense!

If you specifically want an image which is 1440 x 960 @ 150 dpi, and then use the suggestion provided by 99jon.

"Simply export from the original raw file and choose 1440 long edge & 150 ppp."

About cultures that causes the image is expanded you will know immediately if the Cropped Dimensions as shown in the LR library module are less than 1440 x 960. Use the 'I' key to switch the Loupe selection of information if you do not see the cropped size.

I edit my photo, then export it to the hard drive as a JPEG. When I open my folder on the hard drive and you want to zoom in the clarity isn't here. It looks like a bunch of pixels. Am I missing a step in my savings and jpeg conversion process in Lightroom?

  • Why don't more export from Lightroom using all methods at all after update?

Hello, I scanned the community to see if there is no response yet, and couldn't find anything, so I apologize if this is a repeat, but I have a job in which I introduce pictures tomorrow, but I can no longer export from Lightroom after the automatic update of the CC. I tried the shortcut (shift/control/e) and I tried on the file menu, but all nothing happens. I also tried resetting preferences, no dice. I work on a MacBook pro with the latest version of Yosemite installed. Help, please.

If this does not work, your best bet is probably to roll back to 2015.1.1

  • PC will not open .jpg to MAC when you export from Lightroom

When I export a photo from lightroom on my Mac on my external hardrive, they are very good. I can then open it with mac, etc. When I plug in my external hardrive to my PC and open the pictures, some of them only are visible. It looks like 2 different collections of photos. One is. _IMG_xxxx.jpg and the other is_IMG_xxxx.jpg. the. _IMG_xxxx.jpg will open on pc. When I check the properties of the photos that some are newer once I exported from lightroom and some of them are those of an earlier date, and yet I exported just as the exact photo on MAC, Hung my outside up to PC and checked. Did I miss something in my export options? I can export or "save for web" in photoshop (as a jpg file) and have no problems with opening the photos on a PC. Why is lightroom sends me in trouble? Thank you!

FAT32 should work OK for this purpose I was just curious to know if it was something different.

I think that what happens is that Lightroom is not correctly check if the image already exists in the folder. Remove the images from your PC or your Mac after you transfer? You might want to try to do only for the Mac (which will remove the dot files too). You can also reset warnings dialogs in Lightroom, which is done in the preferences-> general section.

You will need make a new version with the settings being applied during export. Lightroom is non-destructive, while you can see the changes made in Lightroom if you export under the original... it's what you will get, the original unmodified file.

  • Is it possible to save photos from lightroom without the original file?

I recently imported photos into lightroom, but I did not back up the original files on my computer and they are deleted from my card.  The images still appear in lightroom.  Is it possible to save them from lightroom without the original file?

Your images are not - and have never had - in Lightroom, they are just referenced in the Lightroom database.

Lightroom generates jpeg previews of the originals, however, and you can export users export preview plugin of Rob Cole: robcole.com - PreviewExporter.

To be clear, however, that are not originals.

    Hello Marianne,.

I have something even. JPEGs are fine, naves are a few weeks ago 1.5 stop underexposed. It only happens with LR and Photoshop. Not with Nikon View or Capture. It only happenes when I use the d-lighting option active with one of my Nikon several. Is equivalent to your problem or is there something else?

  • Exporting DNG from Lightroom, but the thumbnail in os x Finder still shows the unmodified image. How can I update the thumbnail?

I export a DNG from Lightroom on my iMac (OSx 10.11.2) but the thumbnail in os x Finder still shows the unmodified image. How can I update the thumbnail?

Export to DNG will always export a unretouched photo non-modified. Your changes are in the XMP of DNG file as text, and most of the viewers of DNG files cannot interpret or use this text. So, it seems that when you export photos in DNG, Lightroom has done what it is supposed to do.

  • Photo exported from Lightroom appears very grainy in Photoshop

A took my photo in RAW and processed in Lightroom.  It is milky and was shot at ISO 8000.  Using the Luminance slider to the title of the noise reduction reduces the noise/grain where I liked it.  When I exported to JPEG in Photoshop it will look very grainy once again, perhaps even more than the original. When I did export I kept it at its full resolution of 3648 X 5472 origin.  I set the quality to 100, it has exported to sRGB and countered the size max and these other options.  I even closed Photoshop and reopened and reopened these photos and they always look very grainy.  To test I did the same thing and it was exported in a TIFF file and got the same look. Very grainy.  HOWEVER, when I open again the JPEG file newly created in Lightroom, it seems that it should look like, with the removed noise/grain.  It seems the noisey/grainy in Photoshop.

I hope someone can tell me what is happening and how to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance for any help.

To make a valid comparison, don't forget to look at the pictures from 1:1 (100%).

Any other point of view is inaccurate and misleading, picture time putting in the scale/resampling.

If the photos are more granular in Photoshop when seen at 100%, check that Cache levels on at least 4 in Preferences > performance.

  • Setting the quality of the export of Lightroom for the best optimization for slideshow of Muse

    Hello

I use Lightroom to prepare images that I will use in Muse slideshows - basic slideshow widget.  In LR, I cropped virtual copies of everything in exact proportion, I need Muse.  In the LR export dialog box, I use the dialog box Image size affect my exact pixel for image dimensions - 784x560px, 72 dpi.  In the export from LR > file setting dialog box, I put in JPG, sRGB.

My question is this: what is the optimal QUALITY setting in the export from LR > settings dialog box of the file to produce the smallest file size and maintain excellent picture quality in pages Web of Muse?  The QUALITY slider is from 0 to 100.  In addition, because of my Tablet and phone slideshows are smaller than the desktop slideshow, I would be wise to produce another series of images in LR to each of the three formats, sized for the respective formats?

Note that I do not use the HiDPI parameter in the Muse Site Properties > content.

    Thanks for any help here.

  • Place the photos high resolution in InDesign - look terrible when I resize down! Does not work why!

I'm a beginner with InDesign, so I'm looking for very clear instructions. I work with CS6 on a ballot. When I place very large, high resolution photos in and then try to resize the terrible resolution looks down.  I use the tool place during the import. At first I thought it was because I use the 'content to the chassis Fit' tool and who had settled the proportions. So I tried to "Adjust the frame proportionally" and who did not, any more than "automatic adjustment". I have tried to place photos and then making a control + drag to resize down - it did not work. I looked at preferences - file handling - preserve Image Dimensions (I deselected that option). Also, did not work. I wonder if the resizing affects pixels, but I don't know where to find it in InDesign. I found the instructions for Photoshop on the choice of Image - resize the Image, but not in InDesign. The other thing, on what I am wondering is that I put these pictures in a text box - which could cause problems with the resolution? Should I be placing them another way?

Any advice would be appreciated with gratitude!

You should always use one of the options adjustment proportional to avoid distortion. This may mean that you need to change the shape of the image frame allows you to adapt the shape of the image, or crop the image to take into account the shape of the frame. It is a reality.

I'm starting to think that some or all the original problem may be in the jpeg compression, and I doubt that Pixillion Image Convertor is a good choice for downsampling (which isn't the same thing as compression). You can post one of these pictures somewhere for us to watch?
