  I intend to buy an SSD mSATA disc to my desire, because I want to improve the response time at the opening of some programs, improve the General performance of the operating system and to access files faster to big (read and write).

  I searched several readers mSATA SSD in the Web and I chose a P830 Series128GB mSATA SSD Samsung miniPCI-E disk (SATA III 6 GB/s, read 500 MB/s, writing of 400 MB/s).

  But I'm asking about what might be the best option to use the SSD mSATA so suitable as a primary drive (operating system installation and leaving 1 TB of HARD drive for storage and applications) or use it as a cache to improve overall performance.

  I do not envy for IE play or video editing, but I work with VMWare Workstation, and most of the time I need to use about 2 or 3 VM at the same time (sometimes during the recovery of a virtual Suspension of machine it take a long time, the virtual disks sizes about 40 GB).   I read something on Intel Smart Response Technology (SRT) and I heard some benefits for use with SSDS as cache memory but I am still confused the best option.

  I understand that you have questions about the installation of your mSATA SSD.

  The mSATA slot is designed to only be used as a disk cache. You may experience problems starting in the mSATA SSD as drive. For this reason, I recommend to use it in its configuration provided; as a cache drive.

  The decision is entirely at you in the end. If you are able to configure the BIOS to use the mSATA as the main drive, this will help improve your system performance in addition to using it as a cache drive, especially if there is enough space to install your VMWare on the mSATA SSD after you have installed the operating system. Use it as a main drive will also increase the life expectancy of the SSD.

  I can only offer you my personal and no suggestions 'official response HP' in this regard. As previously mentioned, it is entirely up to you.

  Hopfully, this helps at least a little.

  Hi, I upgraded my envy6 with 16 GB Crucial RAM and 500 GB samsung SSD evo. After upgrade, I did a clean install of windows 10 and stopped to use the itegrated msata ssd. My question is:
  Can I install a second operating system on the msata ssd? Can this bios read the second OS on the msata? Is there a procedure to follow?

  Thanks for suggesting it, but I've created a simple way... I just installed the second OS on the msata. At startup the sistem starts automatically on my main drive (500 GB win10), but if I press F9 when starting, I can see my linux on second drive (32 GB msata) and just choose to start when I need.
  Don't need to grub or similar just manual choice, and that's what I wanted!

  I just have to use the SSD Sandisk more for the startup of Windows 7 and MSOffice programs.
  I made a mistake of a new copy on Windows 7 top loading.
  What I wanted, it was just part of Windows 7 with all current configurations and keep the data on the other hard drive.

  So what I did is to clone the old HD (which was almost full) to a larger HD, so I have a full copy, which is bootable.
  I took the old HD and removed/uninstalled all data & programs except: all files in Windows, the files MS Ofc, video card, keyboard & mouse records, Internet browsers, contact lists, etc.

  My plans were to take stripped this old HD, after defragmentation and clone through for the Sandisk SSD, so it will start quickly.

  My first concern is to clean the SSD drive that has the Windows 7 barebones.
  Can I just reformat?

  Any other considerations that I missed?

  You can re - format the disk and run clone on it, if you don't want to keep of course.

• Portege R930 - upgrade the mSATA SSD succssfull

  Just briefly, I wanted to report an SSD upgrade.

  When I got my Portege R930 (PT331E, i7) two years ago, I changed the HD to a PRO 840 Samsung SSD 512 GB (big improvement). Now, this SSD is too small (photos!) and I wanted to increase the capacity up to 1 TB.

  But instead of a new SATA, I decided to go for an mSATA + adapter SATA I felt an mSATA unit would be more "evolutionary" - next update of the laptop for me would be a Portege Z, who use mSATA.

  So I bought a Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB with a Delock adapter/converter mSATA SSD, made a clone of the Apricorn cable and the software switched the SSD and everything works fine (actually a little faster )! At first I tried to use the clone with software from Samsungs migration but this didn t work, maybe I didn t the right version.

  -Now I have a lager SSD that will live longer than my R930. Please note that I'm not an expert with computers - just a happy user Toshiba! Thanks for a good forum with my good ideas!

  That's very true, I used gparted before checking this again, and it was corrupted. Very well! I ended up installing windows 10 home using a free student license. It's perfect, since I have windows 8.1 before running on the 1 TB hard drive and it was filled with bloatware, thanks to HP (no offense). So, it is nice to have a clean install. Everything works fine now, I had to change some settings of 'Legacy Boot' in the bios to boot from the USB.

  I found a post where a guy - now away for me is 'God' - explains how to fix this problem yourself! AND a lot of positions where other guys did, and they confirm that it works!

  Here's the method. Feel happy!

  take a (ascending) table of arbitrary values... that is to say {1,2,3,5,8,12,16}

  now for any desired value, return a subset of table of values that SUM to the desired value. Elements can only be used once, obviously there are several solutions. As for the table above 8 would have 2 solutions: {3,5} or {8}.

  My particular problem was not as arbitrary, so I was able to use a combination of thresholding and number to Boolean matrix to determine the value.

  My instinct tells me to nested loops would work but messy, maybe a form any recursion could be better, or is there a way to solve this problem with a linear system.

  It is expected all behavior.  Use XML, as all VBScript DataPlugins, runs in a separate VBScript host of the DIAdem VBScript host.  DIAdem VBScript host adds all global variables green and Red controls global to host Microsoft VBScript standard.  Use VBScript host has its own special abilities (file object, root object), but there is NO access to Globals green or red blanket orders in the reception of DIAdem VBScript.  Your SUDialog runs in a third host VBScript, which is separated from the other two and the other two are not capabilities (command SUDialog callback functions), but the SUDialog VBScript host and VBScript tiara share all global variables green and Red orders overall.

  Normally all blue VBScript commands are allowed in all 3 VBScripts hosts, but in the case of the DataPlugins MsgBox and InputBox functions were especially restrained because the dialogues could cause a lot of trouble with the DataFinder.  In fact, they have been allowed to 9.1 tiara which was the latest version of tiara for the DataFinder appear.

• E3000 with the same problems on & more here, but no expert solution for the 2 main problems

  

  1 - with regard to support USB connected hard drives that will not transfer data & like to come & go quite often of the view.

  Everything seems like a joke to me, when I read that a lot of people have hard drives USB who worked for a year, & when it stops working or acts upward, we all have a test to see if it connects & works very well on our other connections PC/Laptop & the only advice given, this firmware is upgraded or a list of hard drives that have been tested and work on the E3000.

  2nd - my other problem is that my E3000 now decides of its own to disconnect wireless & cable Communication and then reconnect alone, whenever you feel.

  What makes angry of this problem is that it is abundant in the Forums & I tried all the fixes, but I still have the same problem & sound as good as this device of 2 year, Max is grilled.  As is the case when there is a loose connection that overheated, in what thread or welded metal move when heat is added & move at the time where the heat is removed.

  PROBLEM:

  My touch 1 Maxtor (from the approved list) is connected and playing now you see me & now you don't game.  If I ever try to import or to export any image file or music, the Communication goes & then sometimes will return its own. Please give us/me expert advice on how to solve the problem.  If nobody knows the answer, then Cisco/Linksys looks really bad for selling a router high of $$$, being touted for the games and files sharing multimedia home & it only at this stage.  If it should be recalled, will bring up by all means, or come up with a fully functional firmware.

  Well, I'm here, not having heard an assumption about my problem, but to get an opinion of experts & solution to my problem, but also all other users of the same or very similar problems.

  I am now a HAPPY 'Belkin N600 DB' owner for only $79.99 @ Wal-Mart/Radio Shack. This new does much more than the Cisco E3000 wireless router & even changed my Modem 100 MB (green) flow out of 1000 GB (Amber Light).

• Play/Pause for the SmartBand swR10 problem

  Hello

  The only question I have now with my SmartBand SWR10 is so is not play/pause my media file. Does anyone else have this problem apart from me?

  I don't have a Smartphone Sony but a Samsung Galaxy S5 and everything seems to work fine, but a problem with the tap once for the play/pause is annoying me. I can still go and return songs, but every time I type once he just stops for a split second then continues to play.

  On Z1, it works pretty well. Have you tried a reboot of your SGS5? It records all the water from the tap correctly however.
