Extend a thickness of stocked SCSI disk?

It looks like so it is possible to extend a thickness of stocked SCSI disk.  It's not something I do very often does anyone have any notes on this?  It seems that snapshots should be deleted everything first.  It is a Windows 2008 Server.   Thanks for the help.

Yes, it is possible with discs thin provisioned too.

Basically you will ensure that the VM has no snapshots, increase the drive to the desired size in the virtual machine properties editor and then use the measure of volume inside the windows disk management console.

Windows 7 cannot see is not my SCSI disks when I try to install. As the IDE drive is showen but is not usable. Is there a FDISK program that can be run to solve this problem from a command promt?

    Hello

You try to access BIOS and change the SCSI to IDE in the BIOS or Raid in IDE and try to install Windows 7.

If it fails, contact your SCSI manufacturer for the latest drivers for your SCSI and install it by clicking on load drivers and try to install Windows 7.

    Hope this helps and works.

Adobe Stock license allows you to use your assets anywhere in the world, and the license never expires. You can use the assets, in print, presentations, Web sites and even on social media sites. However, you may not distribute digital assets by posting it online or in any other way that would leave other people to use the assets without permission it is.

So is it possible for vSphere CLI through which we can tell if the SCSI disk device can be used as ROW or NOT?

and what parameter defined as capable of RDM?

    Thank you

    Chandra Sekhar P.

    Hi Chandra,

In order to get the SCSI LUNS that can serve as RDM, you must use the QueryConfigTarget method. This method is defined on EnvironmentBrowser. You need to recover some EnvironmentBrowser object ComputeResource the HostSystem where the virtual machine is created. The configTarget.ScsiDisk returned after the method call contains the logic unit number information that is capable of RDM.

    I hope this helps!

  • Several stores data on the Local SCSI disks?

    Hi all

Is it possible to have several data stores on 1 partition VMFS on scsi disk?  or have you partition than to install multiple VMFS partitions?

I have 1 VMFS 500 GB partiton, but it does not chop into several datatsores?

The 'fb' partition created during installation is the VMFS data store. You can add another disk and use fdisk without problem.

To do what you want, I guess you would need to delete the existing partition and then use free space to create new partitions 2 or more which could then be formatted with the VMFS. It is a question of intresting so I thought I'd look around (not enough to trash my interesting, but interesting test server). I found this ad that may be useful

  • Thickness as Thin provisioned disks

I had a strange situation this morning and I hope someone can shed some light for me.

I have a virtual server with several big (300 GB and 200 GB) HARD drive.  The two HARD drives were created as thick put in service, as I recall they show also thick configured in the properties of the server.  The data is stored on an iSCSI SAN.

This morning, I came to find one of my virtual servers had been frozen as he had ' not enough space to write.  I looked in the store and found the property that the disks have been configured in thick they are infact behave more like thin disks.  In the store, they show that 110 and 202 instead of 200 GB and 300 GB.

    Any thoughts?

The screen capture, it seems that your VM has 3 virtual disks (~ 256GB, 60GB, 350 GB). The size of the snapshot files (the screenshot doesn't show timestamps), I guess that there has been a problem some time ago (one of the snapshots already is ~ 67 GB in size) with delete snapshots after a backup operation.

You must take immediate action to get rid of snapshots! However, to know whether to save just delete catches instant in the Snapshot Manager (it can currently not display any shots even if you have a little) I need to know what version/buils of ESX (i) you are running and the amount of free space on the drive you have on data stores different (the virtual disks are located on different data stores)!

Currently, the virtual machine works without problems?

Please join (not paste) the last file vmware.log file for the virtual machine (see the screenshot).
