External monitor closes on my Satellite A30

Hello

I have a problem with the Intel extreme graphics double display driver. Whenever I have attach an external monitor (projector, screen...), it works very well for a while and then quits. Usually, but not always, restart computer help (laptop Satellite A 30 404) for a period of time, i.e., to get a picture again.

This laptop has been to Toshiba twice and each time a new motherboard was installed. I called the service Tech of the last week and I was the first to present such a problem. My guess is that there is something wrong with the display drivers, although I tried the (most recent) drivers on the intel.com site and they showed the same problem.
In addition, these drivers have not the option of dual display clone the Toshiba version has.

Anyone encountered this problem?

Thank you

LEEN

Hello Leen

It's really not easy to say what can be the problem. Drivers installed on your device are designed by Toshiba and you should use just them and not a driver provided by the producer of the graphic card.

Unfortunately, I am without proper explanation, but in my opinion, you should backup your data and preinstall the unit with recovery CD. On this way the unit will be clean installed and there should not be any problem. Recovery CD images are tested and avoid all wrong driver.

If you try it please let me know what happens after the reinstallation of the operating system.

By the way: how long is the cable between the laptop and data projector?

Good luck!

  • Satellite A30 external monitor

    Hallo
I used an LG Flatron L1910B 19 "external monitor for the past 2 years without any problem using the combo Intel Extreme Graphics Hotkey of Ctrl Alt F3 to switch.

I had to swapout 1910B who had died with a LG L1917S monitor. Now I can't access my external monitor using Ctrl Alt F3 (Intel) or the keys Fn + F5 (Toshiba) when I press the horkey (s) the laptop screen turns off but not switch to external monitor pressing Ctrl Alt F1 resets the display to the Mobile OK. I tested the LG L1917S on a different laptop brand and it works OK

    Thank you

    Hello Roger

It's very strange that switch to external monitor stops at works all of a sudden. Have you checked the connection? Are you able to extend the Office for external monitor?

Furthermore if the utility hotkey for display devices are pre-installed correctly FN + F5 key combination should work and you should not mix it with the combo Intel Extreme Graphics Hotkey utility.

  • Satellite P300 - randomly turns off the power when connected to the external monitor

    Hello

    I have a Satellite P300, Intel Core 2 Duo T9400 2.53 GHz, 4 GB RAM, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 512 MB, running Windows 7 ultimate x 64.

Recently, I bought an AOC v22 led screen and connect my conputer via HDMI. Everything works fine, but sometimes my computer off just randomly. I might have something to do with my computer overheating, so I clean the fan, but this was not good.

I think it has something to do with the LED screen because my computer was never off his own.

    Hello

So this also happens if you n t connect laptop to external display? So, you can determine what is causing this problem.

If the computer laptop doesn t turn off without external monitor, you should try to update the BIOS and the display driver. Two updates that you can find on the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

You close the lid if you have connected the external monitor?
What operating system do you use?

In addition, it would be interesting to know how you clean the laptop. That's why I use the jet of compressed air that can blow the dust from the cooling fans and you don't have to disassemble the laptop.

You should buy a monitor with your favorite image format.

  • Satellite Pro S300 - cannot extend the desktop to an external monitor

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro S300 and it won't extend the desktop to an external monitor / projector, but it will clone the desktop?

    so far I have tried:
2 instructors and 1 projector all do the same thing, will clone but not extend.
Reinstall the latest drivers to display on the Toshiba site.
Reinstall the latest drivers of change on the Toshiba site.

But nothing worked, I even checked my S300 colleagues to make sure that I use the same parameters and their (of 2 other s300) extend and clone office.

Has anyone seen this before and how solve you the problem?

    Paul

Did you first remove the old driver before you install the new driver? If this is not the case, try to reinstall the driver again. Therefore, to remove the old driver, restart the computer, use CCleaner to clean the registry and install the new version you can find on the Toshiba site.

More I would try updating the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site too.

I hope it works for you.

  • External monitor gives strange aspect ration with Satellite P20 XP

I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4), who is four years and works well with XP Home SP3. For more screen space while editing video I recently bought an external monitor - an Acer X193w. It shows everything what is shown crashed down a little bit, that is to say, but it should show., a circle has a distinctive oval to it.

It is plugged into my Toshiba with analog cable and the only resolutions that it will give me are 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 which none do actually correspond to the 1440 x 900 on my Toshiba.

I tried all the settings that I could find, made sure my BIOS and nVidia are up-to-date and I exchanged a few e-mails with Acer support on the subject. Their support staff is now leading me round in a circle ("it is plug and play," "oh yes, that's sounds wrong", "here is the pilot", "no, we don't give installation instructions" and so on) and still no joy. The screen plug and play perfectly with an another Vista laptop that I have, but I really like to use with my Toshiba faithful.

    Suggestions, please?

    Thank you, Brian.

    Hello Brian

Sorry, but I believe that there is not a lot, you can do it. It is 19 wide TFT screen and your laptop s video card does not offer good resolution for it. Display modes Satellite P20 cannot offer the resolution 1440 x 900 for external displays.

    * All you can do is try to change the driver display, but on your own risk.*

  • Satellite Pro A120 - LCD black screen - Fine on external monitor - fine

Hi, I have a headache with a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 mojor. The screen began to move to the blackout at random times and happens more and more. It is not serious if W
Jayindows has loaded or if I enter the bios, boot from the CD or leave it sitting waiting for me to select a boot device. More often than otherwise, it becomes black, but you can still see what needs to be on the screen, it is simply not at all turned to see clearly. The laptop itself still works very well because it works on an external monitor and makes the system beeps, cd turns etc.
    Have you tried the following:
Setting of various parameters in the graphics properties and in the bios but makes no difference.
It also becomes active again if I press FN + F5 to swap monitors but turns off after a few seconds.
It is not overheating as it's been all night and still sometimes happens when starting Cold Stone.
I tried to start with / without battery - no difference.
I tried to start without the disk HARD - no difference.
I tried to remove the battery by pressing power for 60 seconds, then add the battery and new starter - no difference in power.
I could have sworn it is the inverter, but it does the same thing with an inverter I know works! do not think that it may be graphic because it works on an external monitor and turn off.
I'm out of ideas and looking for a genius to fix it for me please!
    See you soon

    Hey Buddy,

    > It turns on but not at all to see clear
This would mean that the FL inverter is faulty the FL inverter of the internal LCD display controls the backlight of the screen and if the isn t working FL inverter you can see a picture, but very very dark.

It would be a logical explanation for your problem, because there must be something wrong with the laptop LCD if an external monitor is working properly. Also if it happens in the BIOS the problem is not software.

In your case I contact an authorized service provider and ask the guys for help. They can check your laptop and this should be done. Here, we can only speculate and discuss the different possibilities because it s just a user forum. EPA has professional diagnostic tools and can order all Toshiba spare parts.

    Good luck! :)

  • Satellite Pro A60: External monitor Shimmers

I use an A60 Pro of the Satellite with a second screen (tft) as a dual display configuration. There is a very sensitive landscape shimmer that moves on the screen when viewing images or the dark backgrounds on the second monitor.

I tried the monitor on another machine and it is very good, so I can assume there is a problem with the laptop or the ATI graphics card.

If anyone can help me solve this problem, I would be very grateful, because it gives me a headache (literally!).

Looks like you need to change the frequency (refresh rate) with the display settings screen. The internal monitor has a 60 Hz frequency (refresh rate), more external monitors are 80 Hz or 100 Hz. Now if you have the wrong settings of the external monitor will refresh at the same pace as internally, which gives a brilliant image. You must go to the display settings, select the 2nd monitor, goto advanced settings, and then monitor and change the refresh rate to say 100 Hz, try this.

    I hope your problem

  • Satellite Pro A120: How to set a resolution of 1440 x 900 or 1680 x 1050 on external monitor

    Hello

I'm considering buying an external to use with my Satellite Pro A120 monitor. The laptop has a Mobile Intel 945GM chipset and it doesn't seem as if I can choose the resolution that I would need a widescreen (1440 x 900 or 1680 x 1050), with its menu of graphic properties.

Is it possible to put one of these resolutions so that I could use an external display, or is simply not an option?

The drivers supplied with the monitor would be likely to help him?

    Hello Thom

Unfortunately when you have factory settings you probably won't be able to use these resolutions. I put t know if it's because of preinstalled driver or limitation technique graphics card.

You can try to install the driver from the manufacturer of the graphics card and see if it will work (Intel or ATI). Just testing everything.
