External monitor does not work with Tecra M Series

Hello

I'm trying to connect to an external monitor, however it is not working properly. The monitor works fine with another laptop so I know that the monitor is ok.

When I first start the lptop I get the screen then I XP Flash on the external monitor perfectly clearly, however when it will boot Windows XP the external monitor goes haywire.

Advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

Either way, I just updgraded all display drivers and BIOS but with no solution to the problem.

Thank you very much in advance for all help/tips.

King Tony

Hi mate,

my suggestion is to reduce the resolution for the external montor. Maybe you have the problem that the resolution and frequency h/v is not defined as it should be.

When starting your laptop, then let the disconnected monitor. When the machine is running, then connect the monitor to the machine (it s OK, it s not dangerous or something) and then go into the control panel for the graphics card. There you can set the options for internal and external monitor.

Set the minimum resolution for the outside and try to activate him. It should work normally...

Please tell me, what kind of machine do you have? You need to give more information, so maybe other people with the same machine can help you.

Welcome them

  • Portege R500: external monitor does not work with the Port Replicator Port 2 and DVI

I have a Portege R500 running Vista with a slim Port Replicator II and digital monitor Viewsonic.
I connected the monitor to the DVI port on the port replicator and got it to work OK.
Press fn + F5 would switch between the computer screen and the external monitor.

Then it stopped working, and I can't make it work at all. F5 recognizes just the laptop screen.

If I connect an analog display, it is fine, and I can pass between the two screens without difficulty.

The strangest thing is that, if I reboot when the Portege R500 is docked, the digital monitor begins by displaying the boot sequence, but then the signal is lost as soon as the screen stops the display of the progress (in low resolution) bar.

I spent an hour on the phone to support Friday, and he made me nowhere.
They finished by saying that he should never have worked! So what is the DVI port because then?

    Any ideas?

    David

Connect your monitor directly to your laptop and see if it is recognized and you can go through FN + F5 between the two views.
If it works, then connect with port replicator, and then try again.

It's probably best if you reinstall display drivers. Maybe there are new too on the download page.

It s not recognized. Can I update the driver, Vista tells me it's good, but Vista also indicates that it cannot install it.

"When I am looking for a solution, I see the warning: keyboard cherri evolution is not compatible.
I don't understand. Can you help me?
I do not work with the keyboard, so it is impossible to not have an external mouse
    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Error code 39 always appears if the equipment has not been installed correctly.
I think you should first try this:

Remove the mouse driver installed and the software.
Then remove the USB hubs and USB controllers in Device Manager list.
Then restart the laptop and wait until the USB ports would be installed again.
Install the mouse software, and then connect the mouse to the laptop.

If this will not help, try to remove the installed application alcohol because that might be the reason for this compatibility issue.

  • External monitor does not work on Vista of Tecra M7

My external LCD monitor connected with analog cable doesn't work on my Tecra M7 with Win Vista and latest driver downloaded today on this site to display. Display of Windows Mobility center see the trendy, office is extended to the second screen and Windows display settings dialog box shows the correct resolution of the external LCD. Any changes to the display (resolution, type of display (mirror, second screen, primary/secondary)) the settings do not work.
Monitor works fine with my old laptop and Windows XP.
If I restart my computer M7 laptop with connected external display I see loading messages and windows on external monitor logo and after that I see only painted while internal lcd to my laptop is black and I can't move at all internal lcd in this case (only restarting with external display disconnected works in this case).

    Hello

Did assign the external monitor as the main screen in the graphics properties?
I think you did this due to the fact that the Toshiba splash screen appears on the external monitor.

But just moment please. The Tecra M7 was delivered with Win XP Pro tablet edition and not Vista.
Have you installed it you own hand?

I guess that everything worked running Win XP
Maybe you should try to remove the graphics driver Vista system and use one from the 3rd site like www.laptopvideo2go.com

  • Pavilion G6 1006sh: HP Pavilion G6 1006sh external display does not work with Windows 8.1

    Hi all

After you perform a clean installation of Windows Professional 8.1 on my Pavilion G6 1006sh I can't use my external Samsung monitor connected to the HDMI port.

The windows installation is well unrolled without all the problems of the operating system had builtin readers for all devices. So there is no unknown hardware in Device Manager there is no sound, wifi, LAN, etc. In regards to the video card, I see two different devices. There is a generic VGA in Windows and there is an AMD Radeon HD 7400 installed M. The AMD Catalyst software has been installed successfully. In the graphic properties of windows that I can choose from two different outputs video, one is the general Windows VGA is the Radeon. However, windows detects monitor connected only on VGA General (i.e. integrated laptop display) and nothing on the Radeon so I can't use my external monitor.

Of course, I tried to restart the laptop / monitor repeatedly, unplug / plug the HDMI cable but without success. When I plug the HDMI cable into the laptop the screen displays a message that it is connected, but there is no input signal. The HDMI port on monitor and works in the laptop I used the same setup with Windows 7 x 64 Professional without any problem. It is only the operating system that has changed.

I tried to remove the General VGA device to force using Radeon, but after restarting it that nothing posted on the screen, I saw nothing on built-in or external monitor so I had to restore a previously saved system configuration.

I tired to install the latest version of the graphics driver Radeon downloaded from the website of AMD, but crashed and restarted during the installation process of Windows.

Please help me with this question or make a statement that this version of Windows is not supported on this machine and I must therefore go back to the old system.

    Configuration:

model: HP Pavilion G6 1006 SH

    OS: Windows 8.1 Professional x 64 (HUN)

Drivers: installed and automatically updated by windows

    Hi there @nzole

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! It's a good place to find the help you need, so many other users, the HP experts and other members of the support staff.

I understand that you have installed Windows 8.1 on your system, but now you can not detect an external HDMI monitor. I'm happy to help you with this.

First of all, in response to your question, this model is not supported for windows 8.1. It was sold only in the versions that have been configured for Windows 7.  That would mean there is no drivers especially customized by HP for this model for Windows 8.1.  It is possible that you could find a suitable drive for a model that Windows 8.1 which can be strong support enough in terms of hardware, that his driver might work, but there is no guarantee.

Here is the support page for your model: HP Pavilion g6-1006sh Notebook PC

Products HP - what happens if I do not see my operating system?

Do you still have the recovery partitions, or you did a set of recovery discs, before installing Windows 8.1?

  • my screen is black at the start. not bios. No beeps. external monitor does not work either.

I have a G62-343NR which suddenly stopped working after I tried to do a Windows Update.  At the present time, when I try to turn it on, I hear the fans whirring and the HD, kicking, but there is no beeps & my screen remains black.  The wifi stays on, but my caps lock button will Flash.  I thought that the screen has gone bad, but when I plug my external monitor, it does not show something or the other.  I tried to insert a Windows 7 installation disc, but nothing appears on the screen, and no beeps are heard.  The fan is turned on.

    Any ideas or solutions?

    It was running Windows 7.

    Hello

It looks like not a component on the motherboard does not, but it is worth trying the following.

In regards to the link below, delete one of your modules of memory and then see if the laptop will start.  If it doesn't, try the same module, but in another location.  If it is still won't start, try just the other memory module in both slots, to see if any combination will allow the laptop to start.

The procedure for withdrawal of these modules is detailed from Page 55 of your & Maintenance Guide.

    Kind regards

  • AL1916W monitor does not work with Windows 7.

I can't find the drivers for it. My computer does not recognize it.

    My computer is

    4 GB of DDR3 memory
ATI Radeon HD 3000 integrated graphics
    Windows 7 Edition Home Premium.
I am currently using an old monitor flat screen (BENQ FP731s)
In Device Manager, it reads generic PnP monitor.

Ive tried to install drivers but they say windows vista or xp only.
When I plug the monitor Acer (AL1916w) the light turns green, but nothing is on the screen.
What should I do? Simple computer of terms please :)

Usually, Vista drivers will work with Windows 7.  If yours does not, you can try to install in compatibility mode.

    Good luck.

  • Third monitor does not work with Eyefinity more

I am trying to run 3 monitors on my ATI HD 5770

I have two computers that, for years, have worked with several thin monitors... until very recently.  Through all my updates to the OS, they continued to work.  I don't remember exactly at what time each card has ceased to power its third monitor.  Each of my "third monitors" would come on periodically until they all finally stopped.

All monitors are working fine as I juggle the cables and adapters each refreshes and lights up but not all at the same time.

Here's what I have available for troubleshooting.

I have two Mac Pros below.  (OS 10.11.6) on one and (OS 10.7.5) on the other.

Each tower has (2) 5770 cards installed that each have a DVI and 2 mini ports.

So I have a total of (4) cards and is starting the new one that I got on ebay last week.

    I have LG E2350V 23 "monitors (6) and (3) 22" ACER monitors

All my cables are active and I have several active adapters

I just bought some passive extra and many very active adapters to the experience and trouble shooting with.

Thanks in advance for the help and time!

DisplayPort and its variant electrically identical but small size Mini DisplayPort and the implementation which is a subset of Thunderbolt, any differential use (push-pull) of signals pilot very low voltage. They are MORE immune to noise than old methods because the signal is encoded on the difference between the two signals, not a single signal referenced to a "everybody" on the ground. If possible, you must connect all screens with DisplayPort [full-size] or Mini DisplayPort. These put a lot less load on your system.

When you convert this very low level signal to an "inherited" display, the map is short of ability to directly signal levels in the car high enough to be recognized after connection of TWO monitors legacy of any kind. If you choose to use a DVI or HDMI port supplied directly, that still counts as one of your two "free" conversions (It is also possible that a very fussy display is moved even earlier).

All display "legacy" beyond the first two requires ACTIVE description adapters. Adapters ASSETS contain re-drivers of signal and are therefore more expensive than ordinary adapters. Typical prices are of the order of $ 40, but competition has lowered some prices slightly. Mini DisplayPort has a descendant-comparability mode requested by the regular cards, who can get to produce a Single-Link DVI signal to up to 1920 wide, but a regular adapter not pushed the signal levels.

The Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI Dual-Link, which is used for DVI displays wider width of 1920, is more complex and expensive and requires extra power beyond all signal re-pilots. This power is usually taken on a tail of pig USB, USB data are generally not used by the adapter, so a different USB power source can be overridden.

  • Usb PCMCIA controller does not work with Tecra 8200

    Hello

I have an old laptop TECRA 8200 (Intel Pentium III, 847 MHz, 512 MB of RAM) OS: WIN XP with the latest patches. Because there is no USB 2.0 I bought a PCMCIA USB Controller (NEC Chip). The controller acknowledged, but XP is asking for a driver. The controller has not been delivered with a driver.

Does anyone has an idea how I could get the operational controller.

    Thank you

    concerning

    Fred

I mean, independent because this isn't really a toshiba associated problem, could you please put the name of the PCMCIA USB device?
I mean the manufacturer or something because if XP asks you a driver there should be one available, or?

Please, give feedback and what you could also do is to google for the PCMCIA device. The best way is often looking for the chip (in your case, NEC).

  • External Combo CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive does not work with USB 1.1

    Hello world

I have a problem with the PA3352E - 2 CD 2 CD-RW/DVD COMBO USB 2.0. A colleague is owner of this car and use it on a NB DellC610 with Windows XP on it. The problem is that the drive does not work with this type of nb (with a NB from Fujitsu-Siemens newest there no problems); There is always an error message about "surge." I think it has to do with the USB 1.1 because the player seems to be built for USB2.0. Is it possible to use this drive correctly with usb1.1 (ok, the flow is low, but more important is it works in general)? Unfortunately his nb will not work with USB 2.0...

Thank you very much in advance.

    Hello

AFAIK this external must have a power adapter. You use it too? I'm not 100% sure, but there are difference how much power Gets the USB slot. Toshiba notebooks is around 500 my and some producers another laptops send between 300 and 500 my. The external device requires approximately 700 my.

  • Monitor does not work after installing Windows 7.

I have a Dell laptop with a Dell S1709W Flat Panel screen.  After replacing the Windows Vista came with the laptop for Windows 7, the monitor does not work.  The monitor said that he does not any signal from the computer.  The computer does not show that it has detected the monitor.  The monitor's cable and the connections are good.  What should I do to get the monitor to work?

You have a graphic external connector for a secondary monitor, if yes attach it and then go to the Dell support web site and download Windows 7 drivers for your laptop model. Install the driver chipset first, then the driver graphics/video, network/LAN and drivers of the potential.

If you do not have an external graphics connector, call Dell Tech support. They have a method to recover your system without losing data or applications.
