  As far as I know you can connect an external monitor or a TFT. For this you can use the VGA (15-pin) port or DVI - D video, supported by PortReplicator III (PA3314E).

  We have a new UCS with 2 fabric interconnects and I want to uplink the ISCSI NICS to an external server not cisco.   What I read, it looks like using a port of the device is the way to go.  However I have noticed on the port configuration of the server, he does not see the VLAN already defined.  The server communicates only with a SAN upstream on our main switch;  If you define a VLAN separately on external does this mean if my server had to communicate with a blade of Cisco low flow to send traffic to the base and then back down even though he was on the same VLAN?  Just try to understand it.  Would it not be better to configure the mode switch?   I know that you will lose some functionality with mode switch.

• External port eSATA Studio XPS 9100 does not

  Hi all

  I have a Dell Studio XPS 9100and external eSATA port does not work or it is not detected. I have a Seagate FreeAgent external drive and it can't detected, and it is NOT power up when I plug it into the eSATA port. The FreeAgent drive works fine as it is detected on my laptop Dell Studio XPS 1645eSATA port. The drive is detected on the 9100 when I use the USB cable to the drive (plugged into a USB port, of course).

  I tried to do some research online and some suggestions were to activate via the BIOS eSATA port, but the eSATA port is enabled in the BIOS. The wrong driver is installed on the device? I see the Intel ICH10 Family 6 Port SATA AHCI Controller-3 has 22 in the Device Manager. Is this the right driver to recognize the external eSATA port or is there something else wrong with the 9100?

  Does anyone think that the external eSATA port requires an external drive with its own power supply? The 9100 is a 2010 model year environment, but I think it should not require a player with an external power supply.

  I grabbed an eSATA disk that has its own power supply (AC adapter) and trendy source on eSATA back port and he recognized the car.

  It seems that the Dell Studio XPS 9100 has of an old eSATA port requiring a drive eSATA that she is clean in order to be energy source active on its external eSATA port. If you try to use a disk without its own power supply eSATA it won't work because the former eSATA ports enabling the way as the USB ports and the new USB ports hybrid eSATA .   I have a quad port gigabit nic in my esx Server I want to use it as a 'switch '.  that is, I have a vSwitch with all my VM on it, and I have included 5 NICs in there.  One is an internal NETWORK interface that works very well, and the other 4 are quad port PCI-E adapter.  For some reason when I plug a physical computer into one of these 4 ports, I'm not able to get a network connection and cannot communicate with the virtual machine.

  Is there something I'm missing here?

  If you want to connect physical machines directly to external ports? It is not how ESX should work but why not, special purpose...

  First of all, you need to use crossover cables (or have the network card can detect direct connections).

  Then, you must have a group of port by physical map (or a vSwitch) because when you join a virtual computer in a vSwitch, it uses all the physical ports but only one. Then configure each port group to use an identified uplink and attach each virtual NETWORK adapter to a group of different ports. Finally, give a different IP address to each vNic.

  The problem with this design is that you need to configure each physical machine the IP addresses of the virtual machine they want to contact on they are connected to a specified card... It's not easy. And physical machines will not be able to contact each other, unless you install a router within the ESX VM.

  You'd better buy a small switch.

  First of all not all resolutions are available and taken in charge by a graphics chip or a graphics card driver!

  You must enter them in the field for a start external Port and external completion Port. You will need to send individually except for the range of 49000-65000. The steps are as follows.

  Certainly not without a dock, but even with laptop HP well enough docks limit you to one of the ports on the external monitor, even if there are two on the dock. We used a device called an Atlona AT-HDPIX2 which is a USB to hdmi adapter. It provides a feature of third monitor for a laptop... use the native external port of the screen and the computer screen internal, then this device gives a third control that is fully configurable to display Windows 7 interface... clone, extend, etc.. It allows a full HD resolution and is pretty responsive for games even light.  HP does not have any true docking station for your laptop.
