External Toshiba drive HARD PX1268E - 1 40 guard and reconnection (Win 7)

Hi all

I used to run my drive external HARD with a laptop with the Windows XP operating system and another laptop with Windows Vista. My new PC running Windows 7, and the external HARD drive worked fine for a few weeks. However, when I connected the HARD drive to another laptop with Windows Vista again transferred some data and then reconnected to my PC with Windows 7, the HARD drive wasn't working much more. He keeps now disconnect and reconnect after about 6 seconds. The HARD drive is not secured by a password.

Again, the HARD drive works fine with the laptop, but keeps in a closed loop when it is connected to my PC. How can I solve this?

Best regards

Stefan

Hello Stefan,

And what do you always do to solve this problem?

It works when you turn off the HARD drive and then turn on again?

Thank you for your response.  It was not a strategy of storage devices in my registry.  I tried to create it manually. I was able to get a folder, but the value is default.  Not believing that I could create the key correctly, that I resorted to restore my system before the first backup and I got access to the external drive at this time.  I will install a new backup and hope that I find not write-protected again.

  • HP 15 laptop: DRIVE HARD DO PARTITIONNE NOT VISIBLE AND INITIALIZATION is NOT POSSIBLE

My laptop worked fine until that currently when my brother introduced it is impossible to return to the start and the error message indicating that "no boot found device, took it back to where I bought it and they have installed a Windows 8.1 which worked for about 3 hours, then began trolling." tried to restart it to see if it will win its normal pase but it never restarted, it opens but could not pass the HP logo in the middle of the screen, when I took it back to the shop to check. They tried to reinstall the operating system, but the hard drive partitions are currently not visible. Help, please.

This message indicates that the file system is damaged, and as a result, one or more of the boot loader files is no longer working properly.  The general solution - that no matter what RENOWNED repair shop would know well - is to start repairing Windows Media and run Startup Repair machine, probably three times.  If that did not set her, the next step would be to start the computer from a hard disk utility and run a file system check.  If defective, which would be more likely to say that the hard drive was not - and then only, the reader will have to be replaced and windows resettled.

In addition, Win8.1 comes with quick start already on.  This force the machine to fall into a new form of hibernation when you stop - preventing access to the disk partitions hard while they are in this State.  Once more, any store repair FAME SAURIEZ cela and told for sure you.

Looks like where you bought is occupied by people who are incompetent when it comes to diagnose and repair Windows PCs.

I assume the unit is no longer under warranty, otherwise you would have contacted HP for repair.  But, that being said, your first step should be to contact the HP Support to see if you have repair options: Contact HP customer service | HP® customer support

An alternative would be to buy a new hard drive, order of HP recovery materials and use it to reinstall the machine.  See the details in the link: HP computers - getting HP discs recovery or a USB HP recovery disc | HP® customer support

I'm new to this forum, so I hope I'm posting in the right place.

The external hard drive works fine for over 2 years now, but it has started to randomly disconnect from my PC. I have the USB to say alert that it has disconnected and then moments later it seems to reconnect with the usual USB alert. Occasions, it seems to work for hours without the problem return.

It is a sign that the reader reaches the end of his life?

    Thanks for your help

    Hello

Perhaps the reader reaches the end of the life, but at the moment it is not easy to say...

Have you tried another cable to the HARD drive? Maybe it's just a problem of cable s.
In addition, you should check the HARD drive on another computer or laptop. So you can make sure if it s a USB issue or not.

    > I have 2 years Toshiba laptop with a HARD drive. I want to improve its performance. I need help on this.
I have 5 years Toshiba laptop and I had the same plan. I've swapped original HDD with SSD and upgraded RAM to the maximum level (8GB). After doing this I installed the original recovery image and optimized it preinstalled version of Windows.

The difference is simply amazing. For example, start Windows went from 2 minutes 30 seconds. I think I don't need to write more info on laptop's performance now.

SSD and RAM upgrades can be done in most cases, by the owner of the laptop and without any risk.

If you need some good advice do not hesitate to ask.

  • My drive HARD 160BG has been deleted and loads of files off itself

    Hello
I had all my music and photos on my new hard drive, then one day they removed somehow themselves. Luckily I had backups of certain things, but not about this. When I copied stuff back it says you want to crush showing that files have been deleted actually not.

The files are not hidden files and they take place. When I select all the files it says the total is 38.8 MB, but just one of the only records was more than that. Anyone know how to recover these files.

    Help, please

    Hello Debra

It will be interesting to know which laptop computer Toshiba a 160 GB HARD drive.

Anyway: it's really not easy talk if someone reports on data deleted somehow themselves. In my opinion, you should ask a friend for help that has all this in front of him and can much better deal with it. On this way, we can only speculate and you won't be size just your time.

    Good luck Debra!

  • Drive hard new for the car and recovery

    Hello

I have a Pavilion dv4-2141nr S/N: [personal information deleted]. I installed a new model of disc hard WD WDBMYH0010BNC-NSPS, + 2.5 - inch SATA 3 Gb/s. I set the BIOS to start fron DVD/CD and it appears "no boot device - insert boot disk and press a key" on the screen. I tried to reset the hard drive several times and it always comes to the top. What I am doing wrong?

    Sorry, that didn't work.

It could be a bad set of recovery discs, a bad DVD player, who knows?

But there a sure fire way to know, if you're in the game.

Make your own bootable installation of W7 Home Premium DVD.

If you can still read all 25 characters of the product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop, you can use the support that you have installed windows (assuming that the set of recovery disks is bad).

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-24209.ISO Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 English

Make sure you get the entire file to download.  Occasionally he sometimes displays a full download, but you don't have the file xx GB 3. integers download.

Then use this tool to transfer the ISO to a flash USB 4 GB or DVD drive.  This tool will also make a bootable media.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/download/Windows-USB-DVD-download-tool

If you can boot from the DVD drive (assuming you make the DVD) so you can contact HP and ask to have your money back, or make another set of recovery discs you sent.

If you cannot start from ther DVD once again, there is a hardware problem any.

Try to put the ISO file on a 4 GB USB flash drive and if you can boot from that and install Windows, then you know that there is some sort of problem with the hardware with the DVD player.

  • Pavilion 6610f desktop: HP Envy & WARNING: drive hard Imminent failure (please backup and replace immediately!)

Recently, I had 2 different cats with HP Tech Reps in which they used their remote control programs to check on the problems that I had with my new HP Envy 5560 all-in-one.  The next day, at the start of my desktop PC, I got the warning message: "" imminent hard drive failure: if it please take a full backup and replace immediately. "" I did a scan from HP and it showed nothing wrong. There are no pop icons - up or whatever it is on my desktop screen to indicate a problem.  The hard Seagate I have is only 1 years and 89% free space left on it and there is no problem, other than being slow sometimes, before the cats remote and the PC warning.  I came to the forum looking for answers, and the first thing I noticed was a post to say today 09/04/2015 Bent Canuck: "HP Envy Hard Drive Failure" at 06:22. What a coincidence. Think are?  Only some 20 hours from the time I myself first 'hard drive Imminent failure warning' and only about 40 hours after the remote programs have been downloaded (twice) and the rep tech, taking control of my computer (twice).

I ran all the diagnostics that my intermediate PC experience tells me to do.  I checked in the BIOS and I checked all the HP, troubleshooting, etc. on the Assistant HP program performance. I can find no reason for the hard drive to be failing.  I didn't notice it do anything else to be a little slow to start sometimes and slow to load stuff onto the internet, I have assumed it was probably malware and spyware that I must find a way to remove at one point, but I have received no warning about things either.  I get the same caveat and I did a full back, but...

Can someone tell me what to do or how to check and see what the problem is until I have to just chuck the drive because of this warning?

Thank you for the additional information.

Did you run the BIOS CHIP to test your hard drive?  Also, I don't think that the added hard disk HP software had nothing to do with the message you receive.

  • Drive hard short self-test failure and how to recover my data if HD packages in, also how 2 recovery to win 8.

I have a computer dell laptop vostro 2520 it is the only 2mths old, already I'm short self-test failiers whenever I have an HD test!. It still works very well, but im worried he's going at any time!  The diagnostic test via (f12) after start-up also breaks down the hard drive but all the rest! I have the windows 8 support of recovery disk os only, comes with the cd of the laptop, the resources and the media and have backup on a given traveller! I'm not very good when it comes to pc but im learning! can I use discs that I have to re - install win 8? or if I do an image of the original system which allows? any help with these would be awesome! im not that familiar with computers as ive already said how do I a more thorough test to find out exactly what is causing the problem? Thank you for taking the time to read this and give me your comments. Dee.

The hard disk will fail for sure either sooner or later, but it is a good idea to take a new hard drive and replace it with the old.

You can use the Windows 8 installation CD/DVD to reinstall Windows 8 in the future. If the system breaks down suddenly and you have not taken any backup of important files, creating full system image is always recommended.

    Good luck!!

  • Laptop sees no external Toshiba USB HDD 500 GB

    Hello

my new Toshiba drive hard external 500 GB USB does not appear in the laptop with USB 2.0

The light of the HD post OK

Tried all USB ports three (sockets) of the laptop.
    Can you help me please?

    thanx
    Nick

Try to use a key USB * Y * cable that allows you to connect the external HARD drive to two USB ports.
The point is that the common USB 2.0 ports provide 500mA max power.
That is why it s advisable to connect two USB ports to make sure that enough power would be supplied on the HARD drive.

Hi, this external DVD drive has 2 USB connectors (data and power) and no power supply.
    The dynadock has alternating current.
When I connect the DVD directly to 2 USB ports on the laptop, it works.
When I connect an external hard drive to the Dynadock USB powered it works
When I connect the Iomega DVD drive to the dynadock, it doesn't work and I get an error message "power surge on hub port."

I tested a second dynadock and DVD player (same model) and the same problem occurs.
I also tested all of the USB ports on the dynadock, front and rear.
I looked online for limitations on the dynadock, but found none.

I look forward to any constructive suggestions or information.

    Hello micjam,

the Iomega DVD drive also not functioning, it is linked to the dynadock?
No mouse, keyboard or other usb devices?

Have you tried plugging the dynadock to a different usb port on your computer?

Perhaps there is an update of the bios available for your computer.

  • Use iMac drive HARD internal for storage only.

I initialize my iMac to an external SSD. It makes my computer run faster. How can I completely wipe the drive HARD internal of my iMac and use it as a storage only?

This isn't a big problem, except one. Apple does not support this method as a permanent solution. However, you have an iMac of 2012. I have a Mac Mini from 2012. I used a 1 to LaCie Thunderbolt Rugged HD to do this thing very via the Thunderbolt port. It worked very well for a while. Personally, I started my primary internal HD for OS X and the LaCie Thunderbolt as external storage. For reasons of registration and so on. Recovery of the Internet, as well. I have not found any major difference in the "boot speed" between internal or external HD. I upgraded the RAM of 4 GB to 16 GB all. and BAM!

My HD Thunderbolt is partitioned as a time Capsule (1st partition bootable) and Mac Storage (2nd partition). The choice is yours, of course.

    Bravo!

  • Load Windows XP from external DVD drive

Replaced the hard drive on laptop. DVD drive does not work on the laptop. How to install windows XP from an external DVD drive hard disk new?

You must change the boot order in the BIOS of your computer.

The boot order is order this computer tries to start from, for example, it can check the internal DVD first, then if there is nothing in there, go to the hard drive.

You need to plug in your external DVD drive (it's probably USB).

Then go into the BIOS setup - search for boot order and move the external DVD drive to the top of the boot list, so this is the first device to be "started" from.

Then restart your laptop and then it should boot from the external DVD drive, which probably contains the installation media for Windows XP (DVD/CD).

    Hi Ricardo,

How do you know if it is disabled?

Since it is a hardware problem, you can check with the hard drive manufacturer or the manufacturer of your computer for assistance.

Well my drive hard seagate ST3500620AS just crashed and I need to know if there is anyway to fix it now that it does not work. If not I can just replace it and what I do on all my OS?

N ° you can not fix it.

A hard disk for the average person crash means that everything on the hard drive has disappeared forever. There is always some Seagatefor someone with vast resources.

I hope that you have created a set of HP recovery disks. If you did, then buy a replacement hard drive (500 GB or more) and put it in your recovery disc in the DVD player. Go into the BIOS and set the DVD drive as the first on the start list. Once you have done this, you can start your PC and use the Recovery Manager on the set recovery disk to reinstall your operating system.  If you have not created a set of recovery discs you can always buy a set of HP at a reasonable cost.
