External USB HDD PX1269E - 1 50 cannot be recognized on computer

Hello

I recently bought an external hard drive, Toshiba 500 GB external USB Hard Drive PX1269E - 1 50 I want to use it on my Pentium 4 3.6 ghz memory 1 GB 400 GB internal hard drive and motherboard ASUS P4P800.
I installed Windows XP Profesional SP2 on this PC.

We have 4 pc at home and he answered on any of this.
The next problem is that after I pluged in the USB 2.0 conector, nothing happens? In the close computer store, I asked the seller to try it on one of their computers and the seller pluged it in one of the laptops and my external hard drive has responded immediately!

After the test to the computer store, we have purchased a pci usb 2.0 card because we thought it was the problem of usb, but after installation of the usb hard drive adapter has failed, either.

What could be the problem?

Hello

The dealer has tested the HARD drive and it worked.
It seems the exterior works of HARD drive and can be recognized on the computer.

In my opinion it s is not a HARD drive problem. For the most part this external HARD drive needs more power that can provide a USB port. My brother uses external USB HDD and it was delivered with a cable from USB 2. His HARD drive must be connected to the 2 USB ports on the laptop.

I think that if you have a single USB plug cable, so you should use an external power supply for the HARD drive or try to connect it to the USB hub with external power supply.

Maybe it will work

  • External USB HDD 320GB 10 error code

Hi im having trouble with my 320 GB external hard drive I bought about 2 months ago and has worked very well to the top and up to now, where it seems to want a driver who I was not provided with the hard drive because it is plug-and-play and does not connect to my computer just returns the error code 10 on all my computers can someone help me find this driver or help me with this problem out as I noticed many people seem to happen with the 250 GB and 320 GB hard drives at the moment?

    Hello

You suggested that this drive worked properly.
One question; have you used the option to remove USB device?

Sometimes the USB could not recognize the USB device because the device was removed without using this option.

Maybe this will help: go to Device Manager and remove the USB ports. After restart of the operating system to reinstall the USB ports. Then check if the USB HDD works.

  • Satellite M30-604 external usb hdd boot failure

    Hello world

Hard drive problems seem never to end for me.

I have a satellite M30-604. Recently my Hitachi HDD crashed. Now, I am trying to boot from an external hard drive via usb, but I can't.

    (a) I use a ViPower 3.5 "(model VP9258T) enclosure external usb 2.0"
    (b) with a Seagate 200 GB hard drive.
    (c) I used the recovery cd to install windows on the seagate
    (d) the bios (v1.4) seems to support the external device to start
    (e) the internal hdd crashed is deleted (it's internal hard drive space is empty)
    (f) the bios sees the drive and recognizes it as a USB

I think it should work, but when I turn on the computer, after a while, he says: "0201: failure IDE #0"
and gives me the options to run the program installation or start-up.
When I choose boot it gives me the window with "boot in safe mode" screen, 'last known good configuration' etc, but nothing of the work options (it restarts and gives the same again).

    Any ideas please?

    Hello

My research on this subject has led me to believe that it is not possible to boot an operating system of attached USB HDD XP. I read several posts on various usenet groups on this issue, and the consensus of opinion is that it is simply not possible.

Several suppliers of BIOS claim allow a USB HDD to be suitable for start-up purposes but I still have to attend such a machination succeed with XP.

  • Impossible to safely remove external USB HDD - ejection of mass storage device problem

    Hello

I have a 250 toshiba external hard drive. "When I go safely remove device and click on stop, guests me that ' ejection of mass storage device problem and try later.

Is there a reason for this? As I have heard it is dangerous to pull the cord without stopping it first.

This happens usually when something is always access to the USB - HDD.
Yes, it s dangerous to pull on the cable, because you can lose some data and the file system may be damaged. But if you have a situation where you need the drive to take with you and want to just get out the cable to the USB port there is a little trick to disconnect the security apparatus:

Do right click on 'My Computer'-> click on Hardware-> click "devicemanager"-> go into "diskdrives"-> then you need to click on the drive that is your USB - HDD-> with the right button and then click on 'Properties'-> in the menu properties of this drive, you must go on "policies" and click on "optimize for quick removal"-> and then click OK and exit this menu and all-> perform a reboot-> closing information fact. :)

After that, it s safe for remove you your drive even if it s not ejected. :)

    Welcome them

Messages while windowsc7 os, but it will not be because it is exactly as it is in the English edition, because mine is Arab.

    Hello

    > When I clicked on it gives me a message to one of the usb ports below is not working properly

To me, it seems that you have a problem with the USB port and the computer does not recognize the USB HDD correctly.
The USB HDD works correctly on another computer?

  • PX1266E 250 GB external USB HDD - it's going to work with USB1.0

I just bought a PX1266E 250 GB external hard drive USB need USB 2.0. My PC is quite old and has only USB 1.0. My new external hard drive works with USB 1.0?

Usually, the USB 2.0 standard is compatible to the bottom. This means that external USB 2.0 devices are able to operate with standard USB 1.0.
If your device supports only the 1.0 standard USB HARD drive should work, but data transfer is much lower than the USB 2.0 connection.

  • Problem copying from inside to the external usb HDD, error 0 x 80070057 the parameter is incorrect. Help please

I am trying to copy a file from my hard drive internal sata to USB external hard drive when I get the error code: error 0 x 80070057 the parameter is incorrect.

Windows 7 Ultimate. SP1, all updates applied until 01/06/2013. It is the first time for many years that I was puzzled. Help

Hey, thanks for the back. But I found that Windows has nothing to do with the problem. Recently I had upgraded to Acronis 2013 and used it to make several copies of my C drive for a total rebuild.

I decided to move these files to my drive to free up space on my internal hard drive, external usb drive. That's when the trouble started. The four files, I moved only gave problems.

Still scratching my head on this subject. Auto car, supposed to Acronis TIH2013 must be at fault. So I uninstalled with REVO Uninstaller ATIH2013, to a maximum depth of scan. Then downloaded and installed a new copy of the ATIH2013, made a new image to replace the one which gave the trouble.

    Problem solved!

The first download of Acronis must have had a bug in the download, the second seems to be clean and working properly.

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll keep it in mind in case I ever encounter this problem again.

  • How to format Toshiba 400GO external USB HDD PX1273E - 1 40

    Hello

I just bought a Toshiba 400 GB USB external hard drive. (PX1273E - 1-40) And I found that it rises like a CD rom and ask a password to mount the partition of HARD drive.

I would use the disc as an ordinary and normal external hard drive, with no hidden partitions and no password... I don't care/need of backup. In this way, I would be able to share information between mac and windows computers.

If some rider or physical change is necessary also in the controller of card inside is necessary I'm willing to do. I already opened the case to try to put disc in another computer.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have already removed disk external HARD of the case, then you guarantee is no longer valid!
I used a 500 GB HARD drive and you mentioned the HARD drive appears as CD/DVD player and after the connection, the additional HARD drive icon appears in my computer.

I put t know if it s possible, but you could turn right click the icon and check if the format of the option is listed. Then you can simply start formatting.

It is a 3.5 HARD disk and perhaps it should be possible to connect to the common desktop computer, then to the format. But didn t test and cannot give you a proper answer if it works or not.

  • PX1266E - 1 25 250 GB Ext. USB HDD behind Fileserver ovilink: cannot access it, it is not shown

    Hello

I have problems connecting the 250 GB EXT USB behind an ovilink file server. My network recognizes only the rom. CD partition cannot achieve the standard hard disk partition. I did not use a password, but still I can't reach it.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    TNX!
    Maurice

This Fileserver Ovislink is really nice. I found some info on the net about it. I found an interesting forum where some users have the same problem as you. Because of this I think in the future you need to look for solution Ovislink fileserver and not to the connected devices.

Back to problem: I have no experience with this product, but of course other users have the same problem with different external hard drives. You can try to Reset Hardware and try again or check if you can find the most recent firmware.

Bye and I hope that you will find the solution to your problem.

  • Starting external usb HDD?

    We have 4 four desktop computers at home, from a Dell Dimension E520, Dimension 9200 (2007) (2006). Dimension 4550 (2002) to a P - III 550 MHz Dell 1999 that nobody knows the name of. : smileyvery-happy:

However, not one of these computers at the Start external HDD as CDROM drive, HD internal and floppy drive only appear in the boot sequence in the BIOS.

I had read that, sometimes, the BIOS firmware updates may become available which will allow the usb startup.

Can someone advise what, if anything, I can do to get one of these valleys to boot from an external drive (note I do not speak here of a flash drive).

    Thank you

  • Toshiba 320 GB external USB HDD has stopped working

    Hello

Recently this evening my external hard drive has stopped working. I can start it and the blue light shows, but it seems that the arm of reading or the mechanical part is stuck or does not start. It has a very low and repetitive clicking noise.
Before I used to get a strong enough * Click * when starting and now nothing. Nothing does load in windows either, and remains undetected.

I thought that I could send to repair if it's arm which is broken or needs other than tighteneing as, it's a pretty desperate situation that recently, I cleaned my computer and used the external hard drive as back up, with all of my work for the last 8 years on this subject...

And I can't afford a recovery of data of 300 books, either.

    null

Possibly the HARD drive died completely. I mean it might be possible that a head crash could cause this problem.
My HARD drive died in the past, it was a laptop internal, HDD, and before that the HARD drive is dead, I noticed a strange rattling noise.
After a restart the laptop the drive HARD was not accessible
Well, HARD disk crash is not an uncommon problem and it always happens
So, in most cases, it s also should back up the data twice. That is to say: on DVD, CD, etc.

Your help would be much appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Hello

I put t know why the Pro M30 or M30 is not listed under compatible devices and supported but I n t think that there might be a problem.
This external HARD drive using a USB connection and as far as I know the laptop supports 3 USB 2.0 ports. It seems the HARD disk should work

But I think that each dealer would also test the HARD drive before you buy.
