Hi all and sorry for my English :)

So, I have laptop X 300-11 L Qosmio. I have Win Vista HP DVD without a key. But on my laptop with Vista Home Premium Product key sticker.
I want to install another Vista, no recovery (too many "useful" programs).

How can I do? If I install my Vista DVD, laptop tell me - product key isn't ok...
    THX

You may think of the ability to remove all software pre-installed, you won't use. Nobody is forcing you to have all the. To be honest, I do the same.

Vista key located under the unit belongs to the operating system included in Toshiba recovery image that you have with your laptop. This key is not a universal key that you can use with each other DVD facilities.

  • My true 32-bit Vista key work with 64-bit?

I just ordered a SL500 (not yet received) with Windows Vista Ultimate. I wonder if the real key with what he will come will work with Windows Vista Ultimate x 64 as well? Vista Ultimate that comes with the laptop facilities include both x 86 x 64?

Hi Bear17, welcome to the Lenovo user community!

Yes, the x 86 Vista key will work with x 64.

Not the laptop does not come with facilities both x 86 and x 64, so you'll need x 64 media if you decide to spend.

  • Missing Windows Vista key

    Hello

I recently visited Tiger Direct to remove a virus from my dv6000 (bought new at HP in 2008). They advised that it was better to wipe my system and reload everything, so I let that happen. Now I like my version of Windows is not genuine and to enter my product key, but my Windows the license sticker on the bottom of my laptop is unreadable. I went back to Tiger Direct and they said that HP would be able to give me a Vista key if I gave them the serial number on my laptop. Is this true? I would really like to have my fully operational windows in return and am not currently able to upgrade to another operating system.

    Hello:

You have to get a set of recovery disks which normally do not need to enter a product key.

Information on how to order recovery disks is on the link below.

need help to find windows vista key product I lost my kit, but I have windows vista cd/dvd. Please answer me as soon as posssible, thank you

    http://magicaljellybean.com/KeyFinder/

Use the program above to find the product key in your operating system Vista running and active.

If a desktop computer: Watch next or back.
If a laptop: look on the underside.

If a recovery disk, most of the manufacturer's recovery disks do not need a product key to get back to factory settings.

This is the limit of the help that we can give you a missing product key.

  • Vista key for vostro 1510 factory downgraded to xp

I have a vostro 1510 which has a sticker 'vista basic' but came from Dell downgraded to xp.  A month ago, I used the dvd of Vista Bsns provided by Dell with my purchase from xp to vista.  Now, I get a message that my product key is not valid.   The key on the laptop sticker is worn out, and I had to guess some of the letters/numbers, what could be my problem.  Is the key on the sticker good for xp and vista?  If so, I can keep guessing until I understand it.   Or should I be hunting through my paperwork for a different product for vista key which would be provided by Dell with vista dvd?

First of all, you shouldn't have a Windows Vista sticker with a system provided with Windows Vista Professional with downgrade rights to Windows XP Professional.

The thumbnail and the certificate of authenticity must be presented for Vista Business Edition. The DVD of resettlement must be Windows Vista Business Edition.

I recommend that you install the latest version of the BIOS of the Vostro 1510:

    http://ftp.Dell.com/BIOS/V1510A15.exe

See here for instructions on updating the BIOS:

    http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/updating-the-BIOS/

Then for OEM Dell reinstallation usually DVD in place upgrade will result in problems with the product activation. You have to clean install Windows Vista Professional via the Dell BIOS and then install the Service Packs and the standalone updates and then drivers for more details see:

  • Can I use the Vista key code to activate this Windows 7?

Original title: Windows 7 and key code

I have a Dell laptop that I replaced the drive on. Originally Vista and Windows 7. I reloaded Vista but if I load this https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows7

Can I use the Vista key code to activate this Windows 7?

No, you need the product key for Windows 7, Windows 7 uses its own unique product key. What you can do is to reload the old hard drive, and then try to recover the product key:

Here are four utilities, which can display your product keys if they are still there:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • Request full liscence Vista key Vista upgrade

I had a virus on my windows vista Home premium. the virus makes sure windows does not even start. so I booted from my windows disk and tried to date back my PC to an earlier time. Whenever I tried one says the program is already active and doesn't let me do. The only thing I can do is to reinstall windows. now, when I try to activate my windows, I get the message
"The Service of software license determined that specified only usable product key for the upgrade, not for new installations".

I don't know what to do. I can't find any details of contact for Microsoft. I don't understand why he thinks that it isn't an upgrade because I still have the windows.old in my documents file. Please someone help. I don't see why I should pay for a new license key.

We can not help you more away and you must pass the tinme reinstall the correct way and obtaining updates, etc.

You've been given good advice and I have given you the information on how to get your XP disc.

Once you have your XP disk > reinstall XP > then go to Vista

Either follow the directions I gave you or buy a Windows 7 license that Microsoft sells more than Vista.

Microsoft did not something wrong of you.

You have a UPGRADE disk, which requires an eligible operating system to use.

You no longer have that describe the operating system, XP, installed.

    Reinstall it, then upgrade.

    Good luck with it.

    See you soon.

PS As I already explained to you, enabling it does not install all updates. You should always do.

  • Windows Vista key for different edition is installed, how to fix?

I have an Acer PC with his side a certificate for Windows Vista Business. However, Windows Vista Home Premium has been installed on it. It is now demanding activation, indicating that previously the typical product key is not valid and not accepting is not the Vista Business product key.

Is it possible (non-fissuration) I can change the installed Windows Vista Business edition so it will accept the key, without having to do a reinstall complete? Keeping in mind I can't even log.

Otherwise, a CD to install Windows Vista normal company accepts OEM Acer product key or I will have to try to find the disc from Acer?

Colin - I think the connection problem because the system is RTM, rather than SP2 - the RTM will feature Mode of Redcued heavily neutered if not authentic, that allows only access via a browser.

It should be possible to rearm the machine to make it functional again for purposes of data recovery...

The openg screen, it will offer to open a browser - if your default browser is IE do the following (it won't work in Chrome or Firefox - later)

Open a window of IE and in the address bar, type C:\Windows\System32 and press the Enter key - IE should open the folder.

Look down the list of files until you find CMD.exe (or just CMD)

Right-click on the file and select run as administrator

In the command prompt window, type the following command

    CSCRIPT SLMGR. VBS /REARM

and press the Enter key - after a few seconds, you should get a 'success' message, as well as a request to restart - are, and you should have another 30 days to resolve your problem.

If your default browser is not IE, then start using safe and open IE, in Internet Options, change the default for IE browser, then restart in normal mode and proceed as above.

    Hello

an upgrade license is just that; It's an upgrade

Reinstall the original operating system, and then do the upgrade

    or you can do a repair upgrade installation;

If you do a repair installation make sure that the service pack on the installed operating system does not exceed the service pack on the dvd

  • How to re-enable the Vista key after upgrade to Windows 7

    original title: Activattion

I bought a legal copy of Vista 64 bit and I installed on a computer. I then used Windows 7 64 bit upgrade for upgrading Vista to 7. So now, Vista is not installed on this computer. Since this copy is not installed on any computer that I then installed Vist 32 bits with the same product key, as both versions came in a single package. This computer is dead and no longer in use. So now, either 32-bit or 64-bit version is installed on any computer. So I decided to install the 64-bit version on a virtual machine that is the only thing that it is installed on and I can't seem to activate. I know the State of the installation on a single computer, but I thougth that if uninstall you you can reinstall on another computer. All of these computers are mine and only installed on a Vista machine. They have never been installed on two machines at a time. The installation of Vista, I have currently is in a virtual machine. Is there a way I can get this activated copy?

If you used to upgrade Vista Windows 7 is the upgrade version, rather than the Full Installer version, so your Vista license is no longer valid, as it is subsumed under the license of Win 7.

  • Lost my product out of the box of DVD Vista key. __

Hi, I formatted my computer with vista home installed.

Since you have reformatted, Key Finder tools cannot help you.
Are you SURE the sticker key fell? -C' is the first time I've ever heard talk about what happens in a valid area! It should be a yellow/Orange sticker inside the fancy box provided in OS disks.
Are you sure that the Vista you have is not an OEM version? -in this case, the thumbnail will be on the computer case and not on the DVD case.
Where did you purchase your Vista?
If you still have the receipt, you will be able to convince MS to replace the key for you...
