F:\ Is not accessible. Access is denied.

Recently got an infection (6 according to Malwarebytes), which has disabled the Task Manager, command prompt and something else.

They have been resolved, now my problem is that I can't access my external hard drive.
I tried to change the shared options, security, just said is not accessible access is denied.
Its file system is NTFS but when I chkdsk, he wrote his FIRST and received 0 bytes when it currently has 800 GB on the disk.
Please help, I have attached some newspapers and hijackthis.
I don't want to lose my data (cost me $500 for the bandwidth to download all the files located on the hard disk). Thank you!

Hello

1. What is the brand and model of the external hard drive?

2. connect to the administrator account and try to access the external hard drive?

Usually the access denied error message is related to permissions. If you do not have sufficient permissions to view the file/folder/drive you will get this error message.

    Hello Urbchguy,

Thank you for your message.  It is possible that the profile has been corrupted.  Let's try the following:
Connect to your computer with one of the admin accounts that works properly.
Click 'Start' > click 'My computer' > navigate to the following folder:
    C:\Documents and Settings
Rename the problematic profile to add _old after profile.
    example: C:\Documents and Settings\jsmith_old
And then disconnect and reconnect under the problematic connection.  A new profile will be done, you can then copy the 'old' profile data to the new.
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve the problem.

  • Drive external drive is not accessible, access denied.

My computer (Win7 Home Prem) ran chkdsk after an update of windows, probably triggered by ccleaner or glary utilities. My external hard drive was plugged during the update, reboot and chkdsk. The chkdsk command probably checked my coz external HD, I can see folders/paths that were there. The next day I couldn't access my HD due to a mistake, saying: it was not accessible and access is denied. I searched online potential solution and tried the following without success, and they have been applied using an admin account and an admin cmd.

    * Change the permissions and ownership, but the property always says it's impossible to determine the owner.

    * Changed the share permissions.

    * Do you have 'takeown' and a 'icalcs' has changed owner but same error.

    * Check the disk management, drive seemed ok with the letter drive and all.

    * Ran chkdsk /F on both of my C: drive and external hard drive, both completed successfully without error during the analysis and not found bad sectors.

    * Program of Unlocker used to check if player was running another process, found nothing.

In my computer, it shows the letter drive and NTFS, but not bar showing free space. Properties would show 0 free space / used. Here I can go to cmd and access the content from there. I used the function of 'Explore disk' of glary Utilities and I could see the content and even run mp4/avi files in the player. So I guess the drive and its contents is ok, just that I can't access it through normal means.

    Thanks in advance!

    Rob

    Hi LeBlanc,

I apologize for the late response and can certainly understand your concern. I appreciate your efforts. As you mentioned that you are not able to access the external drive, and you receive the error of access denied when you connect to your user account, I suggest to try to create a new administrator user account and then try to access the external drive.

To create a new user account, please follow the steps mentioned in the link below:

    Hello

It is always a good idea to reinstall the operating system when you get a second hand computer

Here are the different ways to reinstall Vista

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

    ____________________________________________________________

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F8, F9, F10 or F11 or Alt + F10 or 0 to start to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

    __________________________________________________________

or borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

    Hi Kyle,

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand from the description of the problem, that you have problems with registration on the user account on the computer of Windows 8.

I understand this must be frustrating, but don't worry, we're here to help and guide you in the right direction.

I would appreciate if you can help me with the following information.

    (1) is the computer that is connected to a domain or any form of computer network?

    (2) you are the computer administrator?

If it's just a PC at home, connect using the administrator account and check the Group Policy client service.

    (a) press the Windows key + R, type services.msc in the Run dialog box and click on enter.

    (b) to navigate down the list until you find Group Policy Client.

    (c) make sure that it is set to Automatic and is started. You can change to double clicking on it and selecting the drop down.

    (d) try the user account login and check.

Hello, today I went to start my computer and when it was loading windows, he said "the Group Policy client service has no login access denied" can someone help me how to solve this cant get on my desk

I opted for the last restore point and now it works thank you for your answers

I'm glad to hear that you guessed it sorted. To protect you against other misadventures, you should now do this:
    • Burn, test and label a CD to repair Windows.
    • Create, test, and document an admin account to spare, even you have a spare House key.
  • The Customer Service of group policy does not logon, access is denied.

I tried to reboot in safe mode, but it does not log it. There is no secondary logon to use. The only record of restore point was forward who has not at the problem of the evening. Where can I go from here?

Disable hide hidden files and Hide protected operating system files

    Open my computer

    Press ALT + T

Click options, and then view the folder

Click on show hidden files folders and drives

Uncheck the Hide protected files BONES

Then use the volume shadow copy service store to restore a previous backup of the ntuser *. * file

To make this opening users profile folder in c:\users\

Right-click on the name of the profile

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

I suggest that you follow the steps mentioned below and check to see if they help.

    Step 1:

    A. start in safe mode and check if you are able to seize the property of the player.

    B. in addition, grant permission to everyone.

    a. right click on external drive Z: and choose Properties.

    b. go to the Security tab and click Edit , then click on Add => Advanced.

    c. If you click Advanced now click find now and choose everyone and click on Ok.

    d. then click Ok and now click on Allow -online full control => Ok.

For more information, see the following link:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-permissions

    Step 2:

If you are able to take ownership of the drive in safe mode, I suspect the involvement of a third party software conflict and would you put your computer in a clean boot State in order to eliminate conflicts of third party software.

Note: Follow step 7 to your computer as usual.
