F5Y20UA #ABA: Ram

I have a HP F5Y20UA #ABA. I wanted to know if it is possible to add RAM. I added ram for desktop computers, and I know that laptops are different, but I really need a bit of extra speed, but I don't have the money to buy a new computer.

Edit:

That's what I considered adding:

http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16820231704

It has 6 GB of RAM which is a 4 and a 2 gig module. It has a door memory access on the bottom. See pages 19, 56 and 61 here:

Your manual

The memory you have selected is performance or memory of game and is not really necessary. It's the official part of HP:

8 GB (PC3L, 12800, 1600 MHz) 693374-001

http://www.Amazon.com/Kingston-Technology-PC3-12800-KTH-X3CL-8g/DP/B00D74FQ0U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&QID=1441228242&SR=8-3&keywords=693374-001&PEBP=1441228304789&PERID=1M1WB8M2XCQN5YXHFBX1

You can install up to 16 GB of memory for you might take two modules you have and install 2 of the above or simply mix the 2 gig and install a 8 gig 12 total or even mix the 2 gig and just get another 4 for a total of 8 concert. Believe it or not, 8 gigs installed in the form of modules of 2 x 4 gig is much better and faster than 6 GB installed as a 4 and a 2 gig for technical reasons module, I can explain if you really want to hear about it. The easy thing to say, is that it is better not to mix modules.

The best thing you can upgrade is the HARD drive. You can replace it with the same form factor SSD (2.5 "SATA SSD) to get spectacular performance gain.

  • HP 15-r030wm j2x46ua #aba: CPU/RAM upgrade question

I want to upgrade my CPU and RAM, but notice 2 things.  1st - the processor is a N3520; is not it is welded to the card or can I spend it?  2nd-if the CPU is only N3520 RAM socket, then the max would be 8 GB 3DDRL or can I use a better?

Try to find the best RAM.  Now that the processor is welded for sure only 3 things I can do to improve performance.

1 switch for SDS for the OS and the current use of storage

    2. I do not have a CPU fan, so I guess I can install 1 I hope...

3 - find the best possible low-voltage RAM but still do not know that I can use.

You are right. He is a Bay Trail N Pentium processor that is soldered to the motherboard and a slot single memory with a maximum of 8 GB of RAM. Manual link seems to be down at the moment.

    Leslie

    Hi, Leslie:

    2 x 2 GB PC2 - 6400 will work well in this model, plug-and-play.

    An SSD... could be problematic.

I've read some reports of members of the forum where they work, and somewhere they are not - for the most part where they do not have.

Models of Intel-based laptops have a better chance of working than the nvidia/AMD based on models.

In addition, the chipset nVidia in your model doesn't support AHCI, so the SSD will not perform at its best, if it works at all.

My recommendation if you want to upgrade the player, is to choose a model of 7 200 rpm which should PEP to the top search on 5 icon time 400 rpm that comes standard on this notebook.

  • Want DV7 7255 DX: Can I put RAM in HP Envy DV7 7255 DX

I have a HP DV7 want 7255 DX, and I look to updrade significantly the amount of RAM. I don't know if I can even update, and if I can improve, how much more I can put in. Here are the specs curent:

    Laptop product #: C6N73UA #ABA

Curent RAM: 6 GB DDR3 SDRAM (2 DIMM)

    Slot 1: 2 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

    Slot 2: 4 GB Samsung 1600 MHz

I would like to replace the very minimum, current 2 GB with a 4 GB key (the same as the current 4 GB in there), to have a total of 8 GB. I would also consider that, by replacing the two slots with 8 GB sticks for a total of 16 GB. It looks like my OS is fine with that, just do not know if the motherboard would be able to use it. (IE: I don't want to put in more can be used and only waste money on it, if 8 GB is the maximum).

I recently installed Avid editing software and it says I need a minimum of 8 GB to operate effectively. I also have Virtual PC installed to run a hidden player XP for old software that I still use, and I noticed a considerable delay in all that done in windows 8.1 while virtual drive is running simultaneously. I suspect that this could be also related to the not enough RAM.

Bottom line: is it possible to put the amount of RAM, and if so, how can I put it? Thanks in advance for your help.

I understand that in the certified modules like the original HP or Kingston, manufacturers already proposed this setting, so it's very unlikely for 16 GB hot much more than 6 GB original.

  • Upgrading a p6510f Pavilion with a new power supply, graphics card and RAM work?

Well, here's the deal that I go back to Japan for about 3 months and during this time I will borrow my laptop Cousins (in Exchange for my office) for Skype etc.. No problem their the thing is that he is a player and this p6510f has a few bad specifications when it comes to this, so I thought that I could let him borrow some cake rather than dirt, if you catch my drift ha... As well, when I get back gamer I ~ ('voice of Yoda"aka How Japanese works...)

So I looked on Newegg / Amazon read comments and planned my purchase but the question is can this case and the Board of Directors manage what I use? lazy to measure everything out / busy.

So first thing, I would like to replace:

Replace the 2 x 2 GB ram cards default with:

    4 x Corsair blue Vengeance 4 GB (2 X 4 GB) 1600 mHz PC3-12800 DDR3 SDRAM of 240 pins

For a total of ram 16 GB with my x 64 bit PC of course

Link: http://AMZN.to/KtMt9m (note that I buy two)

Replacing power 250w with an overkill rather one but it is the same price as a 550w then why not eh? After all the future upgrade/ability to use it in future builds?

1 x Corsair Enthusiast Series 650 watts 80 Plus Bronze Certified Power Supply Compatible with Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and AMD platforms

For the graphics card + overclocking.

    Link: http://AMZN.to/IkLTdp

Finally no more ATI integrated BS... Please for the love of the creator (will it work?)

    1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 580 1536 MB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 2DVI/Mini-HDMI SLI

If my PC can adapt to this card, and it works with power above that will make me happy enough. (Regarding the cooling if it becomes a problem, I can upgrade fans me but first comes this material.)

    Hello

According to Corsair, the DIMMs that you chose is detected only at 1600 mhz, which is not in the specifications published by HP.

You can roll the dice on the DIMMs that you chose, but I wouldn't recommend that buy you them until you contact Corsair and get a confirmation.  Computers HP can be very finicky with DIMMs, especially if you try to mix them with other DIMM modules.  If you do buy these bars and want to be them mixed with the existing DIMMs, then make sure the timings of latency CASE corresponding information validated HP. Also mix DIMM sizes will cause the memory function in unbalanced mode that adversely affect the performance of the memory.

You should be able to make your own decision on whether to roll the dice.

    steps to follow:

    1. I tried with 1 socket by using only a RAM, screen black

    2. I tried with 2 socket using RAM only one with the same RAM step 1, screen black

    3. I tried step 1 and 2 using the other RAM, screen black

    now here it gets interesting

4 tried 1 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

5 tried 2 socket using Original/factory RAM, screen black

    6. tried without any RAM at all, looks like a lack of RAM, screen black

Now, to each measure adopted, I must say that the screen sound not only not showing things, but its totally black as it does at all, until the system starts normally. !

Is it Possible the upgrade of RAM affect the screen? or maybe when I was replacing the RAM I hit some conecting by cable to screen or something?
