  The .inf drivers are available for all devices on the R600. It really confuses me why the manufacturers do not offer I use Windows Deployment Services to deploy a Windows 7 image without assistance and the following drivers are missing:

  Intel AMT
  ACPI Bluetooth
  Sensor HARD drive Protection
  ALPS pointing device
  Utility TPM

  I extracted the drivers from the Toshiba site for Intel AMT, ALPS and HDD Protection sensor pointing device, but the Bluetooth and utility of TPM are only installable .exe files.

  Installation with setup.exe is best way for installing drivers. I believe that most users of PCs and laptops are not so familiar with this and Toshiba needs to offer more simple to install drivers.

  On the Toshiba page you will find Ericsson 3 G drivers so I doubt that the module has been designed by Novatel.

  I think that you should contact the ASP in your country you want to order a compatible module guys should be able to clarify this point and could provide more details if an upgrade of the 3G module is possible

  To use smart Toshiba face recognition software:

  First of all,

  step 1. Although it cannot be configured or whatever it is, check the weather its already installed in your system, to do,

  1.a. open 'computer' from the 'Start' button
  1.b. Double click "C:" drive or every time your windows is installed, by default the C: drive.
  1.c. double-click "Program Files."
  1.d. double-click "TOSHIBA."
  1.e. weather check the folder named 'SmartFaceV' exists in this folder.
  1.f. If the file exists, this means that you have installed, s/w face recognition even if it is not configured to use, skip step 2 and GO to step 3.
  1.g. Else if the file did not exist, this means that the software is not installed, if it does GO to step 2.

  step 2. To install the software of face recognition

  2.a. open 'computer' from the 'Start' button
  2.b. Double click "C:" drive or every time your windows is installed, by default the C: drive.
  2.c. double-click "Toshiba."
  2.d. double-click "drivers."

  2.f. Double click on "setup" - one with an arrow going into an icon of sortoff loop.
  2.g. follow the procedure step by step for installation.

  step 3. To configure the software of face recognition

  3.f. double-click "SmartFaceVSettings".

  It seems that this function can be used only under Win Vista OS.
  If page European driver of Toshiba does not provide these software for Windows XP, then you won't be able to find it on other sites

  Our previous laptops had internal radios from Sprint for access to broadband.
  Sprint will give us external modems for the R600, but it would be great if there was an internal option - one less gadget to drag around.

  To be honest I m not Portege R600 owner but I searched a bit the Portege R600 properties and specifications and unfortunately I didn t find all the details about this feature, so I doubt that this is possible with the Portege R600.

  Yes, normally the Portege R600 supports USB Sleep & Charge:

  This feature is available on the USB port which is marked with a lightning symbol. Additionally, make sure that it is enabled and you can check it using Toshiba USB Sleep and Charge Utility (start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities > USB Sleep and fresh).

  And don t forget that the machine must be compatible with the USB specification.

  Also, check the user manual! You will find lots of information on this feature.
