Facebook launched me and wants used antivirus?

The following popped up on Facebook tonight:

"Run antivirus software.

Your computer has been infected by a virus or malware. You should run antivirus software to remove these harmful programs and keep your information secure.

I certify that I ran the antivirus software and that my computer has more no malware. »

This looks like a scam, but is not asking you to take action, it only refers to the pages on the legitimate Microsoft and Apple sites, so it might be OK. That being said, regardless of the intention behind the message, it's downright bad. There is no virus affecting OS X; There is a small amount of malware out there, but neither Facebook nor any other website has the ability to scan the files on your computer.
