FaceTime international calls

I have yet to find, or get a clear answer to this question.  I asked this question to the ministries of service clients cell phone operating and searched on the web.  If I do a FaceTime (video or audio) call VOIP (not WiFi) to a person who lives in and a one service in another country (e.g. Italy) count towards the use of data or not is considered an international call with associated carrier charges.  And this question is for the four major U.S. carriers, so if they are different please indicate how.

Thank you

Milton

FaceTime uses a Wi - Fi connection or data cell, period.

For some carriers, an International SMS is sent to the Apple server for the connection.

Waived taken operators supported the SMS charges. Talk to your operator on this subject.

  • Would I be charged for international calls if I have friends in another country if we use the two wifi?

I have a friend who is in Germany, and I was texting and facetiming him large amounts of time. Would I get charged for using wifi or is it free?

Yes, texting, you will be charged for an international SMS, iMessage & FaceTime won't if you use only a wi - fi connection. You can only iMessage and FaceTime with other iOS device. So, since it is another iOS device, if you use iMessage (a bubble of blue text), then that is just data and would not result in not international calls. FaceTime, using a wi - fi connection, once again is just data, and incurs no international calling rates.

  • Problem with GCE international calls

    Hi all

I have my router CME with two different link:

the first is the VOIP and the second is POTS

I need to allow international outgoing calls be routed via the link of POTS

    So I made these commands:

    voice pots Dial-peer 5
    corlist outgoing international call
    International call through TT description
    preference 1
    destination-model 000 t
    port 0/0/0:15

I also configured the international calls through SIP TRunk by using these commands

    Dial-peer voice voip 2200
    corlist outgoing international call
Description * International Outgoing Call to SIP Trunk *.
    translation-profile outgoing PSTN_Outgoing
    destination-model 000 t
    session protocol sipv2
    session target ipv4:192.168.2.51
    codec voice-class 1
    voice-class sip dtmf-relay rtp - nte force
    DTMF-relay rtp - nte
    No vad

The problem is that calls always goes in the SIP trunk while I've specified the upper value of the preference for POTS

Y at - it all missconfiguration

Please help me it is urgent!

Add "preference 2" under the VoIP dial peer. Please note that when you set the order of preference, the lower part, number preferably, more priority. Absolute priority is given to the counterpart of dial with preference order 0 and it is the default value.

  • Internal call problem

    Hello

I am trying to deploy a UC520/SPA8000 pour usage of 3 DECT phones.

I followed the documentation pour a SPA8000 with UN UC520 Integration

My DECT phones come calling to the outside and to internal phones but on the other hand I can't call my DECT internally I falls directly on the e-mail.

If I turn off the messaging that rings busy.

I've done the same Deployment at United Nations another customer without problem.

The difference is that the previous customer USE of T0 and LUN there use a SDSL/Sip connection at OpenIp.

    Would you have an idea

    Thank you

    Gregory

    Hi Gregory,

The only thing I can tell you, I did once a migration of a CME that turns on a 2801.

On East past two two T0 to a BIV Orange that virtual the T0 emule (it's the Orange room router which transforms the signal T0 en IP pour out their voice network).

When we did the rocker we had trouble with incoming and outgoing calls.

It turns out that we have the add commands on the 2801 BRI interfaces:

    interface BRI0/0/0

    no ip address

    basic-net3 ISDN switch type

    ISDN point - to point-setup

    ISDN incoming-voice

    ISDN k 7

    ISDN send-complete

Info-transfer-ability of outgoing voice ISDN 3,1 kHz audio

    ISDN tei static 0

    Idem pour interface BRI0/0/1

Hoping that cel can maybe help you

  • VCS Expressway outside to endpoints internal call

I have a new implementation where internal control 1 to VCS in LAN and VCS Expressway in DMZ 1.

VCS Expressway has an IP public address/NAT.

Currently, we have a group of VC endpoint, each endpoint has a public IP/NAT to the local network, to allow internet to make H.323 call directly by public IP address of the composition of the endpoint.

My question is, after having implemented VCS Expressway in DMZ, how do the numbering plan at each endpoint internal VCS Highway outside call? Do I still need to give to each endpoint an ip/NAT publich.

    Thank you very much.

A much simpler and in my opinion, more elegant and more scalable solution would be not to use IP addresses for calls, but to allocate and register outcomes with E.164 alias. That way you all you need is the internal IP address.

So the outer ends may, in this case, call your settings using the [email protected] / * / or [email protected] / * /-E_IP_address.

Internal assessment criteria can call each other using alias only for as long you have the rules of research in place, and cannot therefore have the external ends you will allow to record with you VCS-E for one reason or another.

If you have the outcomes of Polycom external with the old version of the software that does not support Annex O URI component, then it's very simple to include a transformation of prior research on the VCS-E which will allow these settings call using owners 'numbering URI "; VCS-E_IP_address ##Alias - and if you, on the odd occasion, a final point which cannot use anything other than IP addresses, you can configure the alias of relief on the VCS-E to point to a specific or a standard automatic on a MCU, purpose etc.

A dial plan using as above will also allow you to use DHCP addresses, the alias remains static, and that's what counts, addresses much simpler to give to people. e.g. 123456 is much easier to remember than 202.138.98.23 etc, not to mention the IPv6 addresses, and because you save your settings with domain name, and then customers SIP will also be able to connect very easily.

  • COR - internal block calls on CME

    Hi expert...

is anyway to block internal calls on the CMF?

for example, the extensions RouterA 1000,1001 and RouterB 2000,2001 extensions... I want to limit to 1000 will not be able to call 2000, but 1000 can call 2001

I tried to configure as below, however, I still can call 2000 1000

    RouterA

    Dial-peer cor custom
    name 2000

    Dial-peer call list call2000
    Member 2000

    Dial-peer voice 2000 voip
    corlist outgoing call2000
    destination-model 2000
    session target ipv4:10.0.0.2
    Codec g711ulaw

    Dial-peer voice voip 2001
    destination-model 2000
    session target ipv4:10.0.0.2
    Codec g711ulaw

    ePhone-dn 1
    number 1000

    ePhone-dn 2
    number 1001
    corlist incoming call2000

    Thanks in advance

    Hey Torrence,

List HORN to work, you must have corlist and out of dialpeers.

Now, since ephone-dn 1 (for ext 1000) does not have a list Horn, it can make all the other dial-peers

Correct configuration will be like this

    Dial-peer cor custom

    name of block-pt

    name license-pt

    Dial-peer cor list block2000

    Members block-pt

    Dial-peer cor list permit2000

    Members permit-pt

    Dial-peer voice 2000 voip
    corlist outgoing permit2000
    destination-model 2000
    session target ipv4:10.0.0.2
    Codec g711ulaw

    Dial-peer voice voip 2001
    destination-model 2000
    session target ipv4:10.0.0.2
    Codec g711ulaw

    ePhone-dn 1
    number 1000

    corlist incoming block2000

    ePhone-dn 2
    number 1001

with this configuration, when 1000 dials 2000, router will check incoming cor block2000 list with outgoing cor permit2000 from the list. As incoming is not subnet of outgoing call fails.

When 1000 2001 dials. The dial-peer courses has no cor list. So, no restrictions.

for 1001, none entering cor list, so outgoing cor list does not apply

    Hope this helps

    Thank you

  • FaceTime local number in different countries

HI, I was wondering if I can FaceTime my friend who is traveling abroad and using the local number she recorded locally. It uses the same number for roaming data roaming and NOT to use the wifi. While I, on the other side of the country (do not travel) and using 3G (data) do I or my friend have to pay for FaceTimeing while it is in another country (wifi) and I use my cellular data?

As long as your data plan is not limited, your FaceTime call doesn't cost you money. Even if you receive this call via Wi - Fi, you may have to pay to get the Wi - Fi connection, if your WiFi is not free.
