  There is no official reason - but my reason is because of my experience. Years as a system administrator, put computers in Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT level would still be some issues. The same model machine with clean installs of the software even played very well. After some tests, I was convinced that upgrades on the spot can cause problems.   That doesn't look good... a couple hours but goes on five hours is something serious goes wrong. Maybe you should order the HP factory recovery disc and try again. I think that something has gone wrong here.
