Factory reset is TimeCaps also delete the backup of my drive?

Hi, I recently factory reset my TimeCapsules to reconfigure some new network settings and I did it without taking into consideration on my time machine backups. Now, I am unable to climb or find my previous backups. Is this because all my backups are all gone? Help, please...

A factory zero only affect the parameters of the network on the Time Capsule.

Data on the disk hard are not affected at all unless you have done a completely separate and deliberate ' erase disc '.

To see if your old backups are always on the Time Capsule, try to hold down the option key on your Mac by clicking the Time Machine "clock" at the top of the screen. Then click Browse other backup disks, select your backup drive, and then click use selected drive.

  • Transport CANADA needs to be unplugged/replugged all morning for TM can find the backup on TC drive?

    Every morning my 3 Macs can't find the backup on my Time Capsule drive. (All devices with the latest updates.) So I have to do the following:

    (1) unplug the TC. Wait a minute, then plug it back.

    (2) open TM preferences all 3 computers, select disk, enter the password, then TM detects the drive and backups run all day.

    (3) in the morning, I wake up and the computers can't find the backup disk?

    I unchecked the box in iCloud to use back to my Mac. I deleted the backup TC drive and started all over. I did a hard reset on the TC.

    I have an old Modem ARRIS Xfinity of 2 months, model TG1682G wired for my 2 TB Tower Style TC running version 7.7.7. that is in fact attached to my computer ethernet cable main life. All 3 computers running 10.11.6.

    Any ideas?

    Try to remove any back to my time Capsule Mac entries, according to the guidelines of this discussion: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7637445

    If you cannot see the TC in Airport utility, unplug the cable to your modem and restart-if the TC does not see Apple to my Mac servers, they cannot plant the Bonjour service in the TC.

    Hi, Mr. flame.

    What is your operating system?

    If you have been creating full backups, the backup only that you keep is the last.

  • Cannot delete the backup files to external HARD disk

    I tried to remove most of the backup sets on an external HARD drive, but always free poster of 465 GB file Explorer only 213 GB.  I chose the drive in "Disk Clean-up, but which showed no files to delete.  I had a virus on the disk scan to see what files have been on this subject, and so there are hundreds of thousands of them, starting by ' $RECYCLE. BIN... ".  Anyone know how to remove these?  Operating system is Windows Vista SP2.

    Hi John

    Some of the files that you see (as the trash) are system files and do not need to be deleted.

    Before taking other measures, what volume of personal files is on the external hard drive? Did you direct copies of music/photos etc.? -"Free 465 GB only 213 GB" is not quantify how many do you think should be free!

    Also - what the drive and were records of backup performed using embedded software of the player?

    The best solution here is perhaps simply reformat the drive (after making sure that you have an exact replica of all personal files on your pc that you can then copy to it) but give us a little more detail the first.

    Thank you - R

  • Delete the backups on my Macbook Pro

    I backed up my macbook with an external hard drive. I did it to free up space by deleting things out of my macbook and just to have them on my external hard drive. When I did it that he asked if I wanted to use Time Machine and I just agree, I don't know if Time Machine has nothing to do with the problem or not, but that's just what I know, it happened when the problem started to occur. After that my computer has been backed up and I deleted everything that needed to be removed I checked my disk space hard and instead to have plenty of everything I have just deleted, I now 28 GB used by backups. I tried to remove my time machine backups but nothing happened and I want to know how to delete these backups because I am in College and making movies and really need all the space I can get.

    Maybe that's the problem you encounter:

    If this is the case, you can ignore the shots as they will be deleted if more space is needed for other data.

  • How can I manually delete the backup of my iCloud storage?

    Background. I have the free iCloud of 5 GB storage allocation. 3.51 GB is occupied by a backup of iOS device. 1.48 GB is available free space. I replaced an iPhone damaged 6 running iOS 9.3.1 with the new equipment, running the same applications and iOS, April 2. The iPhone 6 is the only iOS device I own. The new equipment has provided a daily notice iTunes 'your iOS devices can not be saved because there is not enough storage iCloud available."indicates that your last backup occurred on April 1 at 01:55. Backup on iCloud is clearly associated with an iOS device I own is no longer, and I would like to delete it to free up space that can be used for backup of my new iOS device.

    To manage the space in iCloud, on your iPhone, go to:

    Settings > general > storage & use iCloud > manage storage (under ICLOUD)

    It will show you what is to be backed up under BACKUPS.  Tap the backup, you don't want and scroll to the bottom of the next screen of information and tap on delete backup (in red).

  • delete the backups time machine (all) on an external HD is from another machine

    I have an external hard drive with backup TM to a second computer I want to free up space on deleting all backup sets. I understand that simply by moving the folder to the trash and empty it is not the recommended method. So, should I enter TM with the drive connected, navigate to the drive that has the backup sets, and right click on the folder that contains these and click on 'delete all backups? They take about 500 GB. No idea how long it will take to remove them? (I tried this method a moment ago, the computer has become impossible to use, and finally I was able to cancel the process. "If it takes hours I'll try tonight.)

    Thank you very much.

    If backups TM are the only items on the disk, you can just reformat.

  • Delete the backups?

    Hi all!

    Is it possible that I can delete obsolete backups (backupsets and no copies)? If I run
    REMOVE THE OBSOLETE 3 DAYS RECOVERY WINDOW;
    It removes all copies and the backupsets. Is it possible in which I keep copies and delete backupsets or vice versa?

    The problem arises because I moved to the ASM. To multiplex the controlfile, I created a backup of the controlfile.
    -Http://www.oracle.com/technology/pub/articles/chan_sing2rac_install.html reference section 2. (o)

    The controlfile was saved as a copy and is active. Now, when I run the
    REMOVE THE OBSOLETE 3 DAYS RECOVERY WINDOW;
    in my backup script, it cannot remove backups because the controlfile is active.
    Database does not RMAN delete obsolete backups. All obsolete backups are pious.

    Have you tried to do the following:

    RMAN>change copy of controlfile uncatalog;
