  I try to convert the machine but I get the following message "FAILED: could not find the system volume, reconfiguration is not possible." 95 per cent at the stage of reconfiguration (he create only a single vmdk).

  Why I ask: when converter trying to reconfig machine (data is already copied) we found information BCD in place where it is stored to * EFI * machines, seems that it is false BCD and the converter cannot remedy this situation...

  As a workaround, you can locate on your source disk folder named EFI (C:\EFI) and rename or delete. (if somehow that this is related with PGP the best choice is to rename the folder).

  Then repeat the conversion.

  I am currently using Vmware vCenter Conversion v. 5.0.1 and I tried to convert a local computer running Windows 7 64 bit SP1 Ent two that has three times, but I still got the message indicated in the title.

  My local computer has two physical hard disks:

  (1) boot HDD (part of the system reserved + part of startup)

  (2) data HARD drive, where the user dir is (part)

  as I am a noob in Vmware I request assistance. I don't really know how to solve this error.

  OK - start the virtual machine in recovery mode or use a collection of Win7 or LiveCD.
  After that start is finished to start regedit - select HKLM and then click "load hive".
  Select the C:\windows\system32\config\SYSTEM file and give it a name - 'p2v' for example.
  Then find HKLM\p2v\ControlSet001\services\LSI_SAS and set the value to 0 initially.
  Unload the hive again, then restart

  I installed CRS 11.2 and started the full initial deployment. The end of it, ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin automatically starts a benchmark, as it should.

  Thanks for the information, it looks like the EAC application name that was created and the name of the application SimpleIndexAdmin trying to talk are different.

  initialize_services.sh created dimval record store with the name of CRS-dimvals however your application tries to talk to StagingCRS-dimvals. EHR you can correct the short Atg configs application name, or you can create another application with the name StagingCRS

  Newspapers reported the following errors (which are equivalent):

  Impossible to reconfigure a source that doesn't have a system volume

  It seems that there are 2 physical disks in the system

  > Drive:

  . A type of adapter \PhysicalDrive1: 1

  Converter is to see the C:\ as long as the system volume, but there is no active flag set on it.  The second disc is recognized, but according to it's Converter:

  > is a dynamic volume. No significant partition information may be associated with him

  So, it looks like there's a mirror of software on the source physical system or the original system was dual boot between something like Windows 2008 and 2003 Server.

  If it's a mirror of the software, you can:

  -remove the mirror and conversion

  -Use gparted on the virtual machine to set start-up/active at the first vmdk file flags, and then reconfigure the virtual machine via converter

  If it is a dual-boot configuration, then I do not think that it is supported.

• Reinstalled Vista, now it cannot find a system volume that meets the criteria for installation

  OK, I caught a virus really bad and had to reinstall vista.  I have 4 hard drives on my computer. When I was going to do a fresh stall of my cd of Vista 64-bit, the first thing I did was to reformatt all my hard drives but the one with the files I wanted to save on this. Now, the problem comes when I try to select a hard drive to install vista, I get a message that says "windows cannot find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation"!  I get this message on each of the hard drives that I tried to install it.  These are the same drives exact I had at first and installed vista on several times before with no problems.  I even deleted the drives and tried repartioning them and always got the same message. Help, please!

  OK, for anyone else who might encounter this problem, the solution is to disconnect all but one of the drives that you want on your computer.  Make sure you leave the one you want installed on connected windows and then do the installation. Subsequently, you can reconnect to the rest of your hard drives. !

  I understand very well this file.  I rarely restore, but sometimes I do.  The problem is that some files, aka viruses that have been removed, take place that I prefer to use for something else, aka my plans f #.  Can I delete random files in this folder?  I understand that I can remove the control panel restore point, but I want only to remove a specific file.  In fact, I don't know if this file is the file that I want to delete because of all the file names.  I made fair carsick enter this folder.  I want to just delete large files.  So the question is simply: is there something important it?

  System Restore uses log files to keep track of things, if you try to restore a point and System Restore detects that which is missing files or that it has been tampered with the restore point will fail.  Bert Kinney, one of the greatest experts on the restoration of the system, explains that the individual restore points can not be removed because... "Each restore points is chained (or related) as well as the previous restore points." When you choose to restore a system all him previous restore point are required to perform a restore, so if one is missing the chain will be broken and cause all the restore points are corrupt. At this point, all restore points will have to correct the corruption. So the best advice is DON'T touch the content of the System Volume Information folder. " http://bertk.mvps.org/html/Tips.html#8

  If you removed a virus if the deletion was successful and the system now works fine the best thing to do is to purge ALL restore points after having removed the virus successfully.

  You're overthinking this and you're too attached to restore points, if the computer is running well at the moment and if it has been so for a week or two then you can get rid of and then restore points create a new.  Set maximum disk usage that is suitable for the points of restore and you will recover some of your disk space for another use.

  In his blog Raymond says that 'folder contains casual interference could cause problems with the correct operation of the information system.  It could, but not necessarily cause problems.  For all its value, you can disable the system restore and other services that might use the IVR (indexing, Volume Shadow Copy & Distributed Link Tracking Service) (services that you might not use anyway) and then delete the entire folder, Windows simply creates a new brilliant when you restart!  Then when you restart the system restore or other services that use the folder they will just repopulate the record with their files.  People who make use of indexing service will generally not want to clear the folder because it takes a lot of "disk churning" to build a large catalog of indexation.

  I tried everything the sytem advised through SafeMode etc... Also, I tried to reload my OS - last updated through the windows update site. However, he did not - probably because all updates from MS, which means that it would not load from the DVD.

  It's a whole new system customized with MS Vista 64 bit, Office 2007 Untimate, Asus MB, 250 GB HD ATI video card. I used Vista for almost a year and had no problems until today. All of the original software.

  You need to change the boot sequence:

  At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

  Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

  I stopped using the system restore, I found a better solution, for me, that's what I have to do.
  Then I noticed that several 'file system' 'type' was being created, 12 times yesterday, 3 up to today in the early hours of the morning and stored in they System Volume Information folder, anywhere from 30 MB to 2 GB.
  three of these file names 'file system' 'type' are:

  Yes, you can delete the system volume information data if not to use the system restore.

  You will need to give permission to the folder until you delete it.
