Failed to backup WIndows 7

Backup Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) was working fine until recently.

Now, I get the following:

Check your backup

A snapshot could not be created. Check the event logs "VSS" and "SPP" application for more information. (This has turned into a waist size of time).

Details: Not enough storage to create the shadow copy storage file or the shadow copy data.

Error code: 0 x 81000019

My C: drive-334 GB 465 GB free space

My F: drive: (Seagate FreeAgent external, SATA connection) 989 free TB 1.36 GB

I tried to run the check disk, from VSS, but it still does not work.

Open "Disk Management" and check the amount of 'Free space' in the ' system, reserved (100 MB) "partition. If the free space is 40 MB or less her you need to increase the size of the system reserved partition of 100 MB to about 400 MB.  Disk management cannot do like frist you need to lower the front of the Windows Partition (C :) in order to expand the system reserved partition. However only a third-party utility called Partition Wizard (create a Bootable CD) that can do this.

Partition Wizard Home Edition:
http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html
Note: There is also a CD bootable or versions of the bootable Flash drive:
CD: http://www.partitionwizard.com/partition-wizard-bootable-cd.html
Flash player: http://www.partitionwizard.com/bootable-flash-drive.html
Among the features and functions: create partition, Delete partition, format partition,.
A partition resize, move partitions, Partition recovery after an accidental deletion,.
Convert the partition, partition Explore, Hide partition,
Change the drive letter, a partition active Set, Explorer (content display) of the partition.
Note: To complete any task use the "Pending Operations" box at the bottom left.

After you have resized the partition of 100 MB to about 400 MB, restart the computer and then try to create a backup.

  • Backup Windows install acer aspire 4330

HI, team of Acer, I use Linux (dual-boot) with windows. I would like to remove windows, how do I backup windows install so if something goes wrong, I can just pop in a disc and reinstall windows? If any other information is needed I can provide.

Well, while being in disagreement with your decision, I have found this procedure to create a recovery disc for an Acer laptop. Please keep in mind that the process may vary slightly with different patterns:

To create your recovery backup disks, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Start menu, and then click all programs.
    2. In the list of programs, click the Acer file, and then click the Acer eRecovery Management .
    3. User account control Windows may request your permission to run this program, click Yes.
    4. In the Acer eRecovery Management window left click backup, and then click create a default disk factory.
Note: If you use a laptop or netbook, you will be asked to connect your power adapter, make sure that the power adapter is plugged in before continuing, and then click OK.
    5. In the page to create a default disc factory select the drive you want to use for burning the recovery media, and then click Start.
    6. The disc is ejected whenever he has completed burning, if several drives are required insert a new disc when you are prompted, and then click OK.

  • Backup Windows XP does not seem to be clear the attribute archive when you perform a normal backup.

Backup Windows XP does not seem to be clear the attribute archive when you perform a normal backup.

I do a backup of the 'Normal' at the beginning of the month.  Then, at the end of the first week, I do a "Differential" backup (using the same "backup job" but change to type "Incremental".)

Well the difference is huge and to study, I see that a lot of files that I don't know that I didn't take the week since the 'Normal' backup have the Archive attribute set.

Is the 'Normal' compensation not the bit mode backup of archive?  Another thing would be randomly set the attributes to archive?  Is there a ghost in the machine?  Inquiring minds want to know.

    Hello

Differential backup marks files as having been backed up (in other words, archive attribute is not cleared). This is normal.

  • Backup Windows will not open

When I try to start the Windows backup or by going into Start Programs/Accessories/backup or by double-clicking the backup file, I am interested in the restoration of I get a small blank window with the title "backup utility".  The Task Manager shows that the ntbackup.exe process is running, but it is does accumulate no time CPU and do no readings or writings.

I will try to reinstall the program, but since I have XP Pro instead of XP Home my Windows CD doesn't have the '\ValueAdd\Msft\Ntbackup on the CD folder '.

Any suggestions on why ntbackup.exe behaves this way?  Is it possible to get the installer ntbackup so I can reinstall?

I don't know if it's important or not, but last year I installed Norton Security Suite, which includes its own backup utility.  Unfortunately, its default filters save the Directory Application Data that I need to restore, where my need to use the utility backup window.

    Hi MalcolmDavis,

The Windows backup utility is already built into Windows XP Professional. Try these steps and check the result.

Step 1: Run SFC (System File Checker) scan to see if all the system files are missing or corrupt
    a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd and click ok.
    b. at the command prompt, type sfc/scannow and press ENTER.
    c. If you are prompted, enter the Windows XP CD in order to complete the scan.
Note: The version of the service pack on CD must match the version of the service pack installed on the computer.
    d. restart the computer and check the difference.

    See Windows XP Scan SFC

Step 2: If the problem persists, check if you can run backup in safe mode to see if another program is causing the problem in normal mode
    a. see the Description of the Mode of course in Windows XP startup options
    b. in the menu advanced startup options select Safe mode and press on enter.
    c. check to see if you can run backup.

Step 3: If the problem does not persist in safe mode, check if a non-Microsoft program is causing the problem
see How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State .
    b. in the article, follow the method 1 and method 2 to find out if any program is causing the problem.
    c. Once you have found the culprit that is the program that is causing the problem, then uninstall it.

Note: Article, remember to follow 'steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup state. "

    Hello

    1. when exactly you get this error message?

2 are you able to boot into the office after getting this error on blue screen?

    3. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try to start your system in safe mode and check if the same problem occurs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Method 2 : If the question does not exist in Mode safe mode then try to put your computer in a clean boot state.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

Method 3: If the problem persists, then try to run the Startup Repair tool.

Startup Repair is a Windows Vista recovery tool that can fix certain problems, such as system files missing or damaged that may prevent Windows from starting correctly. When you run the Startup Repair, it scans your computer for the problem and then tries to fix it so that your computer can start correctly.

  • How to backup windows calendar?

    Export cmnd?
    ABI

    Hi Boswell6

Thank you for using Microsoft Answers!

Many of us rely on during our busy day calendar applications.  Check how to back up Windows Calendar.

The first thing you want to do is to ensure you have all of your known appointments, meetings and functions is entered in the calendar.  Now when you are ready to record, click on file-Export.  This will bring you to the export dialog box.  Just choose a location to store the file *. ICS.  ICS is a standard developed by Apple to facilitate importation of text data for the calendar.

Save the file to removable media such as a CD or a Flash drive and bring it to another computer to import other utilities of calendar. Or you can also save it on the same computer for upload to the calendar application.

Now we can import this file into several types of calendar applications such as Yahoo or Google Calendar online.  For example, I'll show import you backups window "in MSN Calendar.

Go to your MSN Calendar, and click the Add drop-down list and import calendar.  Enter the location of the backup schedule, and then click Import.

NOTE: Another thing to remember is that the ICS file is a snapshot of calendar.  This means that all changes will not automatically be saved in the file.  If you rely on your calendar strongly make sure to save regularly.

    Hope this information was useful.

Let me know if it worked.

  • Backup Windows 7 error code 0 x 81000037 ' snapshots of files cannot be read. "

    Hello world
Today, I tried to make my first backup of the computer.
I tried 4 times now, but still got the same error, something about shots of files that cannot be read.
    Error code = 0 x 81000037
I really tried many things to solve this problem, because I do not know how to start.
Any help from someone who knows what to do is certenly welcome.

    Thank you in advance, Michael

original title: backup Windows 7 error code 0 x 81000037

    Hello

I have the same problem two days ago. However, I had installed Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) at the beginning when I bought my computer Dell (dec 2010) (I have not used McAfee). Two days ago, I ran backup on my disk network as usual and got the error message, but I noticed that the MSE has detected a threat to java. I decided to uninstall all downloads in two days ago, and the most important was to run a COMPLETE SCAN of MSE. He caught 3 java threats and withdrawn. After that, I ran backup again and it worked perfectly. I hope that this experience will help someone when I post my response.

My computer is a desktop i-5, Dell, Windows 7 Ultimate, my network drive is connected to Linksys E3000 of Seagate.

Note 1: I regularly MSE update later.

Note 2: I went through the so-called "reparse points" and without success.

Note 3: Download those that I uninstalled everything came from Apple (please don't hurt me I don't like Apple.) I just wanted to test in all circumstances.)

Exactly the same problem and same solution: run Full scan in MSE (which found a few 'malware' which is associated javea), then uninstall java worked well!

  • Windows 7 backup error: "backup Windows ignored C:\Users\... because it's on corrupt C:\ drive.»

    Hello

I bought a new computer recently with Windows 7 installed and regularly use Windows backup since my purchase with no problems.  However, a couple of days, I tried to backup my system and received a message saying that the backup completed, but some files were ignored.  As soon as the journal view, that's what I find:

Windows skipped C:\Users\Jonathan\Documents backup because it is about corrupt C:\ drive.
Windows skipped C:\Users\Public\Documents backup because it is about corrupt C:\ drive.
Windows skipped C:\Users\Jonathan\Music backup because it is about corrupt C:\ drive.

Backup Windows ignored C:\Users\Jonathan\Saved games as it is on corrupt C:\ drive.
Windows skipped C:\Users\Jonathan\Searches backup because it is about corrupt C:\ drive.

It seems that Windows Backup jumped basically every valuable piece of data on my PC.  I did a search for answers and it seems that when people have this problem backup Windows still do not know the same libraries (pretend to prove that it is not a problem of material with the HARD drive). and the only suggestion I could find was to run the chkdsk utility, then attempt a backup again.  I have since run the utility chkdsk twice and it found no errors, and I continue to have this problem when you save.

Beyond running the chkdsk utility and reboot for a third time, can anyone help?

    Thanks in advance.

I think that this is the case because of a virus (incase your pc is not protected or a new threat has developed).

    Please install an antivirus.
I suggest Microsoft Security Essentials.Scan all the files and then try again.
Or try freeing up space on the drive you store the backup in the c DRIVE.
or try to move your important files to an external USB key or hard drive and format your pc :)
That will solve almost all your problems.
In case you need help with anything else or this does'nt resolve your problem, mail me or reply to this post of mine.

  • Backup Windows disabled by Acronis True Image 2011

I discovered that the uninstallation of Acronis True Image 2011 will disable the Windows 7 backup program. The link is displayed on the Control Panel, but clicking on it does nothing. I've read elsewhere that the problem may be that Acronis mess up the registry of Windows, but I don't know how to fix this and hesitate to try. Acronis seems indifferent to the fixing of the problem - their proposed solution is that I just keep using Acronis and forget to backup Windows. I would appreciate the help.

I would also say that this exposes a vulnerability in Windows 7. It should prevent the modification of the behavior of the windows installed programs or at least ask for permission until it is granted.

This does not have the problem, I've identified, which is that the UNINSTALL Acronis True Image Home leaves disabled Windows backup. Fixing the problem requires the user to modify the Windows registry. Changes have now been contributed by a user and Acronis continues to refuse to address the problem. A full discussion can be found here:

  • Backup Windows not pretend "enough space".

Backup Windows refuses to create a new Image system because it claims that the goal to drive (the drive on which the image will be placed) doesn't have the space available. It is an incorrect Windows evaluation, as the System Image is ~ 32 GB, and the target drive has about 360 GB of available. The full error message is the following: "Windows Backup skipped backup system image because one of the critical volumes is not having enough free space. Free up space by deleting unnecessary files and try again. "Error code: 0 x 81000033 as there are a few grammatical mistakes in this error message (for example,"is not having enough"should read 'don't have enough', which indicates a person who does not speak English natively wrote the message), I suspect that there may be an intrusion to blame (polite way of saying"foul play"), but Microsoft Security Essentials , or Malwarebytes detects no virus or other.
