  • migrate the file to the Storage Server 2008 Server

As a result of a server crash, I was forced to temporarily use a desktop as a network file and print server.

I installed W2K8 and saved the folders and files recovered from the wreck of the original server, which had been virtualized using VMware.

I have a NAS on command, which comes pre-installed with Windows Storage Server.

There is a logon script, which should direct users to files right on the current file and print server, but it seems to be non-fonctionnel, as the .txt file, which he uses as reference contains several incorrect entries.  Despite this, everyone can still see the drives mapped on the temporary server!

I think it's maybe because the system has been implemented by using profiles, not homeless.

    Can anyone confirm this?

It would seem that this migration will not be easy.  Anyone has any advice that can help me in planning for this?  I intend to create a couple of test user accounts and groups and a couple of new fileshares, so I can experiment before you start the migration.

"Pointers" will be much appreciated, as this is the first time I tried this, and I see a lot of Hedges and traps.

    Thanks in advance.

  • "The trust relationship" fails when you use the remote web access but local access is fine

    Hi people,

I searched on this but haven't found all answers, or anyone who seems to have the same problem that I get.

I can use my Win 7 Desktop Office 100% fine, network cable, no problem, "nothing has changed" for months. SB Server 2011

I can log the Web remote access: Remote space fine and can download files, etc. Any fine.

I can see the 'Connect' button for my computer desktop, but when I press on it and enter my username and password, I get "the trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed."  I tried several remote computers XP and Win 7, always the same.

I am sure that when I'm back in the office, the local logon will be fine as it always has been.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

  • Configure Outlook Web Access in Windows Live Mail

Is is possible to implement the https://mail.server.edu (where server is the name of my employer) in Windows Live Mail so I don't have to keep connected to the school server over and over again to see if I have mail?

Thank you! Their computer scientists do not know what I mean. :)

    Debbie Debbie Soll

    Hi Debbie,.

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

Try it out below mentioned steps and check if that helps you accomplish what you want.

    1. start Windows Live Mail. A wizard may run the first time it is opened. If the wizard does not work when you open the program, do the following:

    a. on the Tools menu, click accounts.

    b. page accounts , click Add.

    c. on the Add an account page, click e-mail accountand then click Next.

    2. on the Add an e-mail account page, do the following:

    a. the area e-mail address , enter your e-mail address.

    (b) in the password box, enter your password. If you want Windows Mail to remember your password, check the box next to Remember password.

    (c) in the display name box, enter your full name.

    d. Select manually configure e-mail account settingsand then click Next.

    3. on the next page of the wizard, under incoming server information, do the following:

    a. in the dropdown under incoming mail server is a Server, select IMAP or POP3. You can use the IMAP protocol because it supports more features.

    b. under incoming server, enter the name of the POP3 or IMAP4 server. If you access your e-mail account online using the outlook.com Web site, enter outlook.com for the POP or IMAP server name.

    c. Select this server requires a secure connection (SSL).

    d. under log on using, make sure that clear text authentication is selected.

    e. under (if different from the e-mail address) login ID, type your full e-mail address.

    4. under outgoing server information, do the following:

    a. under outgoing server, enter the name of the SMTP server. If you access your e-mail online account using the outlook.com Web site, you can find the SMTP server name by signing in to your e-mail account to the following address: http://outlook.com. After logging in successfully, click the drop-down arrow next to the help question mark, and then click on to words. You must enter the name of the Server SMTP is listed in the page on under external SMTP setting. For example, if the about page shows the following, your SMTP server name is pod51005.outlook.com
    External SMTP configuration:
    Server name: pod51005.outlook.com
    Port: 587
    Encryption method: TLS

    b. Select the this server requires a secure connection (SSL).

    c. Select the check box next to out of my server requires authenticationand then click Next.

    5. on the page of your new account settings are complete , click Finish

    6. on page accounts , click close.

    7. If you are using IMAP4 and the dialog box Show/Hide IMAP folders is displayed, use the Windows Live Mail user interface to select which folders to synchronize between the server and your local computer, and then click OK.

You can also contact the Windows Live community for assistance.

  • What is the recommended method to configure a web proxy to another server on the LAN?

    Hello

I use Server to manage incoming web traffic, but also have another server running I want to use outside.

I work in directly modifying the site configuration file and adding the ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse directives but these overwritten when the site configuration is changed in the.app

I want to implement this in a way that is not crushed and is more robust.

Any advice would be very welcome.

    Thank you

    Gary

I'm certainly not an expert in the field, but I think you can do what you're asking using the functionality of the Web application.

You bring a plist to webapps folder and a conf file in the apache folder and then using.app, edit your Web site, and then click Change advanced settings and select the Web application that you created. It should not then be written more if you make any changes.

The content of the conf file would proxy information in it:

    # of http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod/mod_proxy.html#proxypass

    RewriteEngine on

    RewriteCond% {HTTPS} = off

    RewriteRule. -[E = Protocol: http, E = port: 8000]

    RewriteCond% {HTTPS} = we

    RewriteRule. -[E = Protocol: https, E = port: 8010]

    ProxyPassReverse / http://secondserver.example.com:8000 /

    ProxyPass / http://secondserver.example.com:8000 /

and the plist would be something like this:

    <? XML version = "1.0" encoding = "UTF-8"? >

    <! DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0 / / IN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd" > ""

<!-see the manual pages for webapp.plist (5) and webappctl (8) for more information on this example webapp.plist->

    < plist version = "1.0" >

    < dict >

    includeFiles < key > < / key >

< table > <! - include files are enabled in the virtual host then webapp - >

    < string > /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/httpd_yourwebapp.conf < / string > <! - name must match your conf file - >

    < string > com.example.secondserverwebapp < / string >

    displayName < key > < / key > <! - name displayed in app server - >

    < string > SecondServerWebApp < / string >

installationIndicatorFilePath < key > < / key > <!-the presence of this file indicates web app is installed->

    < string > /Library/Server/Web/Config/apache2/httpd_yourwebapp.conf < / string >

    sslPolicy < key > < / key > <! - determines the behavior of the webapp SSL - >

    < number > 0 Integer < / integer > <!--0: by default, UseSSLWhenEnabled->

    <!--1: UseSSLAlways->

    <!--2: UseSSLOnlyWhenCertificateIsTrustable->

    <!--3: UseSSLNever->

    <!--4: UseSSLAndNonSSL->

    < / dict >

    < / plist >

This is perhaps not completely right, but can direct you in the right direction, I hope that someone with more knowledge will be the chip in the meantime

  • XP SP3 to access shared network (Server 2008 R2)

    Hello

I have problems with getting a Windows XP SP3 machine to recognize a specific (out of 3) shared folder on a corporate network. Its the only machine that they are unable to access this particular network share since (it just started having a problem after another person cleaned the machine). I checked the user who is logged on to the machine has sufficient privileges on the share and should be able to access via AD, as well as on the action itself. Yet when I try to navigate to the folder it tells me that access was denied. I thought maybe the machine was to be part of a specific group, but this is not the case either.

    Any ideas?

    OK figured this out

Essentially with the newer versions of Windows, when a computer is joined to the domain, your AD credentials are removed automatically. With XP this is not always the case.

I ended up remove the profile of users of the connection via the command line. After that, I went to remap and he their credentials. Those she used was more valid. I used my administrator credentials and still no go.

I removed the connection and we used hers and it works beautifully. On Monday she had lost the connection to the drive following.

I found once again that he was trying to reuse the invalid credentials.

This time and I went to the title of the user accounts-> manage credentials removed the bad credentials.

    Since then, she's stayed connected.

So just to remind, if all permissions are set correctly, check the credentials used to connect the hard drive.

  • work around the internal security gateway and the same url for web access external and internal

role of the broker 1 quest
1 security with the roles of web access gateway
    1 Server terminal server

I configured the default gateway with the parameter security rule: "vworkspace security gateway".
I created a custom with the 172.16.1.177 value rule (it's my client internal windows7).
When I navigate to the internal url (fqdn's secure gateway server) I bypassed (tsdebug shows no sslgateway).

But now I want to use 1 internal and external URL to type the same URL.
Now when I navigate to an external URL of the machine internal with above ip I always get through security gateway, I see a SSLGateway

    Hi Erik,

I think that this has been fixed in our latest version 8.5 - documents.software.dell.com/DOC252107

Please download and upgrade your farm and let us know if you still see this problem.

If you do, it may be best to save a service request so that we can see exactly what is happening.

    Thanks, Sam
