Failed to install an optional update due to configuration errors. Errors are now fixed, but cannot find the update to make another attempt.

I installed Skype and I'm using a webcam Logitech C210. Sound works fine but the person that I want to connect with shows a blank computer screen. I checked the settings on my end and everything seems to work fine, including a short video of me at the bottom right of my screen.

Microsoft sent an optional update called "Logitech-Communication, hardware device, Streaming Media and Broadcast-Webcam 210". However when I tried to install it failed.
With the help of Microsoft Help, the problem with the update appeared to be several errors in configuration that have been set.
However, I was not able to find the answer key updated to try to install it and hopefully the video problem knows my contact.
My question is basically, how do I find the optional update.
Thank you.

Hello

You should always get the hardware updates directly from the hardware manufacturer. in this case, Logitech.

  • I downloaded and installed Acrobat XI but cannot find the serial number under my account

    Hello

I recently bought the Acrobat from adobe license XI.

I logged into my account and downloaded the .exe file. Now that during the installation process, when I went to check the serial number under my account it gives me nothing?

    Any idea?

I think that you normally receive the serial number via your email account.  It will appear in your account after save you it.  I speak only from my experience as a disk owner however and hear - say in these forums.  I've never bought a download.

While restoring my Mini 1010NR with 8 GB SSD from the disk of XP SP3 operating system, everything fine until partially through the recovery an error message saying that it cannot find the i386\ASMS file.

I tried the options "install fresh copy" and "repair" and get this same error message in both directions.

I formatted the SDS with both regular and quick NTFS file system. My OSD software gives me the possibility of formatting of the SDS with fat? I have not tried. That I should?

I looked at the CD, and in the i386 subdirectory, I see a subdirectory called ASMS. I see several subdirectories in this directory.

I am booting from an external CD/DVD drive. This seems correct, as the installed much restoration program file until stopping in the message saying that it couldn't find the file ASMS.

This OSD provided with the computer when I bought it new at HP.

The cd is corrupted or damaged or installation loses communication with the CD-ROM drive. If you can, try another cdrom drive.

  • installed an optional update for webcam now I can't uninstall the optional update

I installed an optional update for a live! Cam optia pro webcam now camera is not working and I can't uninstall this optional update and I have no restore points...

Can not install you because there is no entry for it in programs and features or updates installed or because the list has no uninstall capability because there is such an option, but it does not work?

I know that you do not want to hear this, but you must keep some restore points available for situations like this, even if you are not using intensively or on a regular basis.

Download and install Revo: http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/revo-uninstaller/revouninstaller.html and see if it works.  Be careful.  The update cannot be a separate thing that can be uninstalled (this is often the case and only a system restore can fix the problem) and try to uninstall can uninstall the entire program - but then again, you may need to do anyway.

If this does not work, then I suggest you to uninstall the entire program (update and everything) and re-install the original program without the update (and then download and add some other updates that you installed before the latter).  You must also reinstall the drivers and/or firmware - I don't know exactly what is involved, but it should probably be similar if it is not exactly like when you got it.  This should solve the problem.

    I hope this helps.

After that, go to Windows Update and 'hide' the update that caused the problem.

    Hello

Have you made changes on the computer?

    Method 1:
You try to install the driver to boot, to troubleshoot error messages and other issues, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Is that error on this post code, IE something deleted, probably your antivirus or you.

For problems to explore, which has nothing to do with this post, try this (which covers almost any problem).

    Explorer

Explorer (explorer.exe) is the program that is the start menu and taskbar, windows folder and the office (which is a folder window).

To see if a fix is available

In Control Panel (and select Classic discovered in the left pane) select reports on the problems and Solutions (problem of type in the START search box), go to historical problem, right-click of your error and choose check for the Solution.

You can also right-click and choose Details for more information. Post these details here. The name of the Module fault is important information.

If the problem affects Panel press the Windows key + R and type wercon (or type it at a command prompt).

Close the browser and start a command prompt

    • Close Windows Explorer
    • Start - All Programs - Accessories - right on command prompt and choose run as administrator.
    • Click Start. Ctrl + Shift + Right-click on an empty spot (just above the power of buttons is one place) then Exit Explorer.
    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete then Task Manager.
    • Control all processes to explore are closed. On the process tab select explore and right-click and choose end process, repeat if more of an Explorer in the list.

Then to restart the Explorer after trying all of the following

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and enter explorer

If you cannot start the Explorer at all

    • Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete and choose Task Manager
    • Under the processes tab, click Show processes from all users to elevate to administrator
    • In the Task Manager, click the file menu and then click new task (run) and type cmd
    • Other things you can try typing

      Explorer
      Explorer c:\
      Explorer/e, c:\
      wercon
      control
      Iexplore
      Rstrui

If you cannot start a folder window you can use the Browse button in the new task dialog. Don't forget that you must right click and choose Open rather than double-clicking.

    Reregister the shell registry entries

It is important that each order is accepted. If the command fails it means the file is damaged and must be repaired.
