Failed to start Windows 7, not found Boot Manager?

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-SR26GN with Windows 7 32 bit installed.

He froze, ctrl + alt + delete does not work I turned it works but it was not able to start windows, all I ended up with is a black screen with cursor mobile, even with safe mode.

I tried recovery, known last good configuration, etc... but nothing has worked

Then I started getting the blue screen of death with the BOOT MANAGER NOT FOUND or something of the sort

I tried to use the CD to repair windows 7 but it couldn't detect any installation of windows or another partition... I tried the bootrec different commands but nothing worked

Now when I turn on the computer, it will start the Vaio repair utility, open a blue screen and nothing happens for hours.

I don't know if it is a hardware or software problem. What else can I try to do?

Thank you

It is a serious mistake and "may" not be fixable without a professional technical support

    Hello

Thanks for posting in the HP Support forum.

Nowadays, most (if not all) laptops do not come with recovery media (CD/DVD, etc...)

Computers are equipped with discs hard (or SSD) that contains the two operating system (primary partition) and hidden recovery partition. Users can boot from these recovery (instead of primary) partitions and restore the default settings (for example in the infection by the virus or if corruption of Windows).  The user can also use the built-in software and can make a backup of recovery (on DVD or USB key). Here is just one example of how this can be done:

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=bfn1IGP-TWC

Unfortunately, as you install another operating system (Linux-based) and that you have formatted the drive HARD/partitions, these partitions of recovery very probably are no longer present. In this case, you can take the path of the long (er). You need to buy HP recovery for your computer media.

Please, contact the nearest HP Office-> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

and ask the agent (via call phone/chat/email) to guide the recovery disc for your computer purchase. They are generally cheap and arrive quickly on.

Once you receive a recovery media (DVD), follow these instructions to recover your machine with Windows 8:

Grab your laptop of HP-> restore recovery disks

  • SSD upgrade failed - not found boot drive

I need your help guys... I've been everywhere on the net, try different methods to clone my Windows 7 for SSD and failed repeatedly.

Here is my setup, I have a HP Envy 14 with a 500 GB HARD drive. I bought an SSD to speed things up.  I have 2 OS (dual boot),

Win7 and win 8, on which Win8 is the default operating system (according to the news of easyBCD).   I just want to clone the Win7 OS part.

    (Win7 - C drive), (Win8 - F drive) and recovery on the D drive.

I tried these t hings upafter the defragmentation and backup)

    1. While on Win7, I created a copy of the image, but strangely, thought, once the process is complete the copy of the image is Win8

I've used EaseUs to do backup and clone Drive C

Swapped with the SSD HARD drive and got a message could not find a boot disk

    2. because I failed on the first try, I formatted the SSD and opt instead for a new installation.

-J' I downloaded the ISO of Win7, swapped the (empty) SSD newly formatted

-Started on the Win7 Installer, and have the operating system installed on the SSD.

-J' thought that I was until I noticed assigned HP keys do not work, the USB drivers do not work, I could not turn on/off wifi. The reason may be the missing drivers (bloatware since the HP recovery disk - given that I didn't copy that one)

    3. after the attempts, I formatted the SSD drive. I read somewhere to use the HP recovery instead.

-J' cloned the disc to my HDD to the SSD HP recovery

-Swapped with the SSD HARD drive

-Started my laptop and not found boot drive... (even after pressing F11)

can you tell me a better way to do it?   Or if someone could point out what I did wrong, or perhaps missed?  Really appreaciate... This was bugs me for the last days...

  • Not found boot device. Hard drive (3F0)

    Hello

    I have a HP Pavilion 15 laptop n203ed 8 64-bit windows-based and have updated my bios.

About a month ago, I bought an SSD and improved my HARD drive, it worked fine until yesterday, I started getting the error message "not found boot device. Hard drive (3F0) '. I get this error message whenever I restart the laptop, but when I load the bios, change nothing and then tap on save and exit suddenly it restarts again the error disappeared and everything goes back to normal. Until this happens again in a few hours. I've had 4 times now.

My question: is this a hardware problem or software, I would return the SSD? or could it be something else?

    Thanks in advance.

  • system failed because iertutil.dll was not found.

When you start windows xp pro starts then stops and says this application has failed because iertutil.dll was not found.

When you see a message like this:

Explorer.EXE - unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

It is in the case Log:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Application Popup
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 26
    Date: 18/02/2010
    Time: 08:38:48
    Description:
Application popup: Explorer.exe - Unable to locate component: this application has failed to start because iertutil.dll was not found.  Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

The iertutil.dll file is required for explorer.exe at startup.  If explorer.exe is not able to run, you will not be able to do much with your system until the file is replaced.

The file may have been deleted accidentally, malicious software could have deleted or your anti-malware software could have been quarantined it thinking it was a threat.

Describe your current antivirus and software anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc..

First of all, here are all the things you can 'try' which do not work:

    sfc/scannow

The iertutil.dll is not one of the files that are protected by Windows File Protection, so it will not be replaced automatically if it's missing 3498.  This means that sfc/scannow won't help you.

It is also not on your XP installation for you CD to copy or develop.

You will have the same problem trying to start in any Safe Mode.

You will not be able to run a browser on the system afflicted to go on Internet download one.  There is also a computer big security risk when downloading files from Internet sites anyway.

You can still use the Task Manager to run the system restore and back, but I've never tried.

If iertutil.dll is missing, you can copy from a system that works in the system afflicted with the same version of XP and Internet Explorer or sometimes copy one from another location on your system.

You can get a good copy and put it on a floppy disk, thumb drive etc and copy it to your system plagued by using Manager tasks.

When you see the error, you can click beyond it and eventually arrived at your screen background image where you can press CTRL-ALT-DEL to start Task Manager. TM you can click file, new task, browse and edit the menu drop-down "Files of type" to all files that you can see all the files in all the folders.

Browse/navigate to c:\windows\system32 if iertutil.dll is really missing. If the error appears again while browsing, click OK to get past it.  The explorer.exe tries to run and cannot until the missing file is replaced.

Then, still using the Task Manager, go to the c:\windows\system32\dllcache and see if there is a copy of the file.

If this isn't in c:\windows\system32\dllcache, it is going to be elsewhere on your system and you will find another way.
    Start by looking in c:\windows\system32\dllcache.

If it's the only thing missing, you can just copy the file to the c:\windows\system32\dllcache and paste it into c:\windows\system32 where it belongs.  If you don't, get one from a working system of the same type as yours, copy to a Flash DRIVE or a floppy disk and always using TM, browse, copy and paste it where it should be.

TM, you can always access your thumb or other media same diskettes by navigation, copy, paste, etc. all work fine.

You use TM to navigate to your thumb or floppy disk, copy the iertutil.dll good and then paste it in the c:\windows\system32 folder, where it is supposed to be.

When go you there once again, your system may still be affected so no matter what you use for malware protection.
    follow these steps:

Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

It can be uninstalled later if you wish.

Do not guess what the problem might be - understand and resolve it. I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!

  • Not found Boot on HP Pavilion 11-h013dx x 2 pc device

I have a HP Pavilion 11-h013dx x 2 pc windows 8 and this weekend my computer suddenly switched off. When I restarted I got a blue screen which gave me the opportunity to restore and refresh. I tried both options, but the computer stops when that 15 percent of the restoration. Then when I turned on the computer it gives me a black screen saying device not found Boot. I hit F10, enter, F9, then you leave and saved, who did nothing. I ran to check the hard drive going on. I ran to the verification of memory and which failed with code RQDATS-6T079C-MFPWWK-002103. I can't remember what other screen I was when I got a different error code, but this came as well at some point and I wrote in RQDATS-6T079B-MFPWWK - 001 H 03. All other positions, I read in the support forums that looks like it is a hard drive error and probably needs to be replaced. My free customer service ran back in March, but the computer is still under warranty until December. Can someone help me with the next best steps I have to take? Thanks in advance!

  • File not found: Boot Camp partition.vmdk

Help!   I recently replaced the HD in my MacBook Pro, then to backup cloned the OSX partition, re-created the Boot Camp partition and restored from an image of Winclone.   Start directly on Boot Camp works very well.  However. Fusion 2.0.1 I see the Boot Camp partition (power off), but when I start it up I have the msg: file not found: Boot Camp partition.vmdk.   This file is supposed to be in the OSX or the Boot camp partition?  Projector can't find anything in the OSX partition.   What should I do?

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.
