failure of external speaker in vista

Hi - for some reason my external speakers do not work all of a sudden (it happened after an AVG updated). I get its ok speakers laptop little spindly, but nothing about the ext speakers

I don't know as if the ext speakers count as helmet or not, icon helmet in Device Manager says they are not trendy, but they are, they buzz a little longer if jiggle you the plug.

I know it's just a setting somewhere, it happened to me once before and the chap at the computer store, but I would really like to save a trip. I found a lot of people complain about this problem and a lot of people, it suggests corrections, but none of them work

Does anyone know the real difficulty please?

TIA

Kelvin

Kelvin,

Please contact us. It will be a pleasure to help you to solve the problem.

Since you mention that this problem occurred only after the installation of an AVG update, I would have you uninstall AVG from the list of programs.

Take a look at this-

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/uninstall-change-program#uninstall-change-program=Windows-Vista

You can also use this program to remove AVG-

http://www.Avg.com/us-en/utilities

Note: Deleting the Antivirus is a risk. Make sure that you re-install him even once you have completed troubleshooting.

In addition, you can also perform a system restore to undo the changes made on the computer-

We know how it works for you.

I guess you have a Realtek sound card and Realtek HD audio Manager should appear in Control Panel.

Please check this Realtek HD audio Manager.
The speakers on the right tab, you will see the options analog & digital.
Right click one of the option and check if you could see a few options that provide a framework in order to mute the speakers.

You will also see the option called: the advantage of the device settings.
    Check this box too.

PS; my laptop automatically the internal speakers if the headphones have been connected.
I read in other threads that update the audio driver might help too, but first test the settings as mentioned above.

Click Properties and then click headset/speakers
According to the levels... is at 100% and not CUT?

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: laptop, usb external speaker iHome and HP Pavilion 27 x 1

I have a HP Pavilion 17 laptop (Windows 8.1, x 64, AMD A8) and a HP Pavilion 27xi monitor connected to the laptop via HDMI.  Because the monitor has no Audio, I connected an external speaker from iHome usb/bluetooth to the laptop using the connection of headphones and usb connection.  It was scientifically and all was good until I installed an HP Support Assistant update (there were 2) - no sound so back to the restore point.

I then installed 1 of the recommended updates (there were 2) and tried again.  Not ring again, so I disconnected the HDMI monitor and rebooted the laptop and got her through the speaker iHome. reconnected the monitor and the noise stopped. If I disconnect the monitor, the external speakers work fine!

NO idea what to do.  I want the monitor (eyes do not reach 70 years but like the portability of a laptop).  Any help would be appreciated.

Hope someone can help or help me find a solution (apart from the one I found) to get my screen sound and my PC.  Buying another monitor is not an option!

    Thank you

    @yanceyg,

Hello and thank you very much for posting.  For the most part, I think if it's not broken don't fix it.  The restore point and then do not run update again.  If the system worked great before the update fails after that means that updates are causing a conflict in the system.

If there are updates available is not something that needs to be done unless you've met material which emits the updates correct.

The next option is to go and manually remove the drivers for the sound and HDMI support.  Do this safe mode.  Enter safe mode by pressing F8 at startup.

In safe mode, you can remove the drivers and then start again under windows with the drivers passed then perform updates and see if they play with them right here.

Please let me know how things are going.

Thanks again for posting and have a great day.

  • Conexant HD audio presets and the external speaker connections

I have some doubt about this problems with queries?

    My laptop configuration:

    Name: Toshiba C640-I4014

    Processor: Intel Core i3 2330 M

    Audio driver: Conexant SmartAudio HD

Audio ports: two (1. Helmet 2. MIC)

    Speakers: Built-in stereo speakers

Outdoor speaker of Philips 5.1 multichannel (3 Ports = 2.1 channels, channels 5.1, Center)

After obtaining this devices were struggling on the connection of the external speakers with my laptop computer ports. First of all, I have connected the headphone portable at the port of philips 5.1 via the single cable after that that I had very low noise in the REAR speakers only done even do not climb on the subwoofer bass and other stakeholders like 2 ubiquitous speakers. Then,

I connected the laptop headphone philips 2.1 unique cable port. Now I'm getting all the sound speakers and subwoofer with 2.1 channel sound, but it does not work 5.1 channels multistreaming.

Then I thought that it will work connection is.

Port of portable headphones = on Philips Exteranl 5.1 speakers 5.1 channel port

Computer laptop microphone Port = port channel 2.1 external speakers Philips 5.1

None = Center port external speaker Philips 5.1 speakers

Then, after I tried to configure the Conexant HD SmartAudio driver, here's the problem,

    Problem 1:

Conexant Audio software is not configuration of the external speakers

For Ex: Two streams available on this audio driver

    * Classic flow

    * Multistream

Here, if I chose "Multistream" his does not work with external speakers connected laptop after removing the external speakers of his work with portable speakers integrated with multistream. But if selected with the mode 'Classic Stream' his work external speakers with subwoofer with all speakers even time and sound. But I need a 5.1 multichannel sound. I don't get this sound on my PC laptop Toshiba c640-I4014 with philips 5.1 speaker.

    Problem 2:

    Conexant SmartAudio HD speaker settings,

If connected to the port of the external channel speaker 2.1 also its projection on the headphones plugged symbol

If connected with port channel 5.1 external speakers not working not properly.

If connected with External headphone with MIC as its projection on the wired headphone symbol

After removing the cable from the speakers external then driver Conexant HD SmartAudio only displays as speakers connected symbol in the driver software. Its average single speaker connection working with built-in speakers or what?. If I tried connected to external speakers its projection in the just connected headphones.

After these problems, I have a doubt on my laptop and speakers with drivers,.

1 Toshiba C640-I4014 computer laptop support 5.1 channel speakers?

2 driver Conexant HD SmartAudio will support 5.1 channel speakers?

    3. why "Multistream" Mode does not work with the external speakers connected to the laptop?

So please read over problems after so help me on this question...

    Thank you!

    Kind regards

  • Play sounds simultaneously through internal and external speaker

I am using Windows 7 on my laptop. I want the sound to play through the computer laptop internal speakers but also external device to THE (such as headphones or additional speakers) to get some sort of effect surround sound.

I know it's physically possible , because it has already happened by chance, but I don't know how to reproduce the setting. How can I configure sound to do this? Do I need additional software to do this reliably? or do I just set up the parameters correctly?

    Thank you for your time.

Thank you. In fact, I found a way to do this, though in a different way. However, the method to THE I am unable to reproduce even though I know that I did accidentally before. I tried to plug it, but as soon as the contacts based on the card, the computer has already routed audio signals on non speaker...

In any case, I have the thing of audio system / speakers Realtek driver. He has the stereo mix (in the recording devices section). What I ended up doing was using the machine, making it a copy of all the sounds that my computer, and send it through a different exit. In my case, I sent it to my screen via HDMI. (To THE does not count as a 'different' output, so connect a auxiliary disables the built-in speakers). Then at the back of my screen, I have connected my external speaker to THE.'

The foregoing seems complex, this is a clarification of what is happenning:

    -Sound plays through speakers

-Stereo Mix of Realtek audio copy and forward it to my HDMI screen

-Display transmits the audio signal to external speakers to THE.

It's the only way I found to do this effectively, however, there is a slight delay on a fraction (maybe half?) of a second. So the external speakers are a little late compared to the built-in speakers.

  • transformed into external speaker output jack external microphone input!

Hi, 2 weeks ago, I bought a HP Pavilion dv4-3006tx. I tried with 3 different microphone to the laptop but the microphone does not work. The microphone to work on other computers. There is no problem with the microphone. In the sound control panel, the external microphone is displayed, so I guess that the pilot detected an external mic, but it's not. Here's what I've done so far to solve the problem:

    (1) I've updated the driver from the HP website with the latest driver. I consulted HP online agent.

    (2) I've updated the BIOS with the latest version of the software. I consulted HP online agent.

    (3) I checked all devices in the sound control panel and the external microphone as default communication device.

    (4) I checked the external microphone volume in the world. The volume is maximum.

    (5) I reinstalled the audio driver.

    (6) I tried to use a linux ubuntu on this laptop to check if a problem persists, and Yes, the external microphone still does not work.

    (7) I tried google several days on this subject and I found nothing. Perhaps no one is facing the same problem like me. That is why I would get help from HP here.

The internal mic works fine only problem with external mic. There are two jacks on the symbol of a laptop labeled for external speaker and another for external microphone. What's funny here is that when I plugged 3 helmet both decision they come to produce sounds. Is this a hardware error? Any other solution that I can try?

    Hi Maxi32,

The port of microphone on your model is designed for a headset microphone.

This port also works as a headphone port - it works as expected.

Here is a picture of the support page for your laptop:

Generally, these types of microphones have three black lines on the connector instead of standard for microphones and two for the headphones.

This document is for Mini series, but it's the same type of port:

  • Satellite U305: can't watch video on the external monitor on Vista with Dynadock

    Hi mates,

I have a Satellite U305 running Windows Vista, I also bought a VGA Dynadock with HP 20 "external monitor.

I have uppdated all Dynadock readers (Audio, video, etc.) to the latest version, but DVD-video or MPEG video recorded with my camera is not possible to look at the monitor extended that in the main screen (laptop computer monitor).

For example, my DVD Toshiba drive works normally on the laptop monitor but when I transfer window extended monitor, Toshiba DVD Player stops to work.
Video does not work on the extended screen.

Is this OK or I did something wrong configuration? Is this a bug? If this is a bug, how to fix this bug?

I'm you worry because I plug a large external monitor to watch a few movies that I can't watch it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Nilton

I agree with the snipe of the user. The dynadock is simply not designed to transfer the enormous amount of data that accumulate to watch movies on DVD.
The USB ports are simply not designed for this

I remove and replace it with Microsoft Security Essentials if you use vista or win 7.  If you are using win 8 or higher, I would use the built-in Defender.
