Failure of SQL database during the upgrade (13.0.2-> 13.1.1) MSDS

Hello

Someone had problems with the TMS 13.0.2 to 13.1.1 upgrade that installation fails to put SQL server level?

My server is now at the stage where I can't install the upgrade or re-install v13.0.2.

Thank you

David

Strange, I've marked this bug as a 'visible customer' a week ago. I know that it can take a day or two before, it can actually be displayed by partners/clients, but it shouldn't take a week.

In general, mark us (at least in the world of Cisco TMS) all new bugs as a 'visible customer '. However, not all bugs old Tandberg bug tracking system have been replicated to CDETS yet, that's why you sometimes see bugs which are not visible in the Bug Toolkit.

It's the RNE for CSCtt19457:

----

Symptoms

The upgrade of Cisco TMS to the version 13.1 or 13.1.1 fails. The Databaselog.txt file shows a timeout in SQL Server:

2011-10 - 03T 15: 37:53 to execute SQL block 1349, starting at line 30465

2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 error in UpgradeDatabase unhandled

2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 timeout has expired.  The delay before the end of the operation or the server is not responding.

2011-10 - 03T 15: 38:39 at System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection.OnError (SqlException exception, Boolean breakConnection)

Conditions

The issue was seen in facilities at TMS using SQL Server 2008 and occurs when the stored procedure "NET_Utility_CheckForAccessCopyPasteErrors" is installed. Installation it would normally take about one millisecond, but when this occurs, it takes more than 20 seconds.

Workaround

Upgrade SQL Server to the latest service pack and run Setup again. If the SQL code is already on the latest service pack, restart the SQL Server service.

  • Version of zone during the upgrade of fromi 11.2.0 for 12.1.0

    Hello

I recently upgraded from 11.2.0 to 12.1.0. Oracle proposes to launch a number of scripts after upgrade (as postupgrade_fixups.sql). So, when I ran, it registered a few recommendations:

    Corrections of post-upgrade beginning...

    **********************************************************************

    Check the label: OLD_TIME_ZONES_EXIST

Check summary: Check use of the old zone data file

Summary of fix: update the time zone by using the DBMS_DST package once the upgrade is complete.

    **********************************************************************

    Fixup gave information:

INFORMATION: - > old time zone in use

Database uses a file of zone prior to version 18.

After the upgrade, it is recommended that the package DBMS_DST

be used to upgrade the 12.1.0.2.0 version of database time zone

the latest version that comes with the new version.

Although it is said that this zone data file is older version 18, it said that it is not:

    SQL> SELECT version FROM v$timezone_file;
    VERSION
    ----------
    18

    Who to believe?

postupgrade_fixups. SQL called dbms_preup.run_fixup_and_report('OLD_TIME_ZONES_EXIST'). As we see the value of "OLD_TIME_ZONE_EXIST" is preset here. Enter dbms_preup.run_fixup_and_report reveals another case with 'NEW_TIME_ZONE_EXISTS' that could return the expected result.

So it seems that postupgrade_fixups.sql was formed when I ran dbupgdiag.sql; and this time I got the file version of zone 14 as it was my former 11 g environment. But now I am on env 12 c and have the new version of the zone file. IT would be great if postupgrade_fixups.sql perfroms checks again when running after upgrade, but not simply show what dbupgdiag.sql gathered before the upgrade.

During updates of database, for most databases, it is recommended to disable archiving because this will speed up the upgrade process. See the exceptions listed by MOS Doc below. Jose has recommended as the upgrade is a case all or nothing - if the upgrade fails for any reason, you need to restore from a backup and start over. Once the upgrade has completed successfully, in archivelog mode must be switched back on again.

  • Eve during the upgrade

    Hello
Rather than rebuild the day before from scratch after an upgrade, I can do this.

We are moving from 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.2
    The plan is
    (a) continue with the log mode archive for preupgrade steps. So waiting is in sync with the primary.
    (b) main stop on 11.1.0.7 and trace 11.2.0.2 (boot upgrade)
    (c) Mount startup on hold using the 11.2.0.2 oracle home
d continue with the upgrade of RDBMS on primary (in the mode of journal archive)
newspapers of recovery (e) is shipped in standby mode during the upgrade period
    (f) primary stop and sleep at the end of the upgrade. Updated compatibility for 11.2.0 on two and do appear primary and start the recovery pending.

I've not done this before. If someone has done this, and would it work? :

    Thank you
    MSK

    I suggest you:

0 disable the primary log shipping
    1. stop standby
    2. install 11.2.0.2 on Standby
    3. start standby in recovery mode (don't run DO NOT catpatch.sql to sleep)
    4. primary stop
    5 install 11.2.0.2 on primary
    6. run catpatch.sql on primary
7 re - enable log shipping
    8. watch it again apply primary eve - it will also improve the Standby data dictionary

Original title: OEM Windows XP Home SP3 update XP Pro

Here is a compilation of the messages from another forum regarding
    My problem:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

I'm trying to upgrade a Windows XP Home Sp3 OEM system to
Windows XP Pro. (There are a few Pro features
that are not available in the House I now need: (1) the files offline and
    (2) an add-on available for free to Onenote 2007, Top2onenote, requires a Pro).
I don't want a clean install, but an upgrade. I bought a Windows XP Pro
Upgrade CD on Ebay that was Windows XP Pro
Gold (v2002). I'm sure that's true for the following reasons:

It has been listed as an upgrade, but the CD is not labeled "Upgrade".
It seems very authentic with all Microsoft holography.
He came in the standard package of Windows XP (without box),
    and it was sealed.
The name of volume for the CD is WXPFPP_EN. The Internet,.
It is the retail of Windows XP Pro RTM (gold)!

Here are things I tried initially.

    (1) I tried to upgrade to Pro from the purchased CD. It is immediately
has refused to upgrade indicating the upgrade OS (Pro) is older than the
    installed OS (home)...

    (2) I read about "slipstreaming". "Slipstreaming" allows to integrate
a service pack with an earlier version of the operating system. I created a
upgrade XP Pro SP3 with Nlite slipstreamed CD image (and
Autostreamer later, but it made no difference) from the purchased CD
    and a file containing SP3.

After you burn the CD and start the upgrade
    (Windows installation), the upgrade process
    product through "information collection."
"Dynamic update" and "Preparation of Installation" with
no problems. My computer restarted and returned to
"Installation preparation". A progress bar called 'Progress '.
quickly filled to about 90% and the hanging system
at that time there for about 15 minutes.
Then, I got the following error message:

Setup cannot set the required Windows XP configuration
information. This indicates an internal Setup error.

This is where I am stuck. I had to leave the installation at this point.
My drive is starts raining and I had to restore a backup.

    (3) just for the heck of it, I formatted my hard drive and
reinstalled my original OEM XP Home SP3 OS (no clean up, no user file).
I immediately used my XP CD slipstreamed Pro to try one
upgrade to XP Pro and IT WORKED! I need to find out why the
properly clean XP Home OS upgraded to XP Pro but my pre-existing
(with the files users, drivers, etc..) XP Home OS does not level
    successfully to XP Pro.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

Yet once, today, I installed a new copy of OEM Windows XP Home Sp3.
I continue with installation of all the essential and the add-on
pilots (essentially all my original version). Then, I
set up a network connection and firewall. With this configuration,.
I ran the Pro XP slipstreamed SP3 CD. The upgrade to XP Pro
success (even if the upgrade not configured my graphics
card properly). I guess my current problem is either the registry,
the WINDOWS, some user file or parameter file.
    ---------------------------------------------------------------

    Another post:

I made a file and the backup of the folder C:\Windows folder
on my system that is pre-existing (OEM XP Home Sp3). I also did a
separate the backup the State of the 'system' on my pre-existing system.
These are added my full image backup of her pre-existing
    system a month ago.

I did a backup image of my system (minimum fees OEM XP Home
SP3 with all the original installed drivers over a network configured
connection and a firewall configured). This system will upgrade
XP Pro with XP Pro SP3 slipstreamed CD successfully.

    Experiment 1:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the C:/Windows folder
and the State of the pre-existing system backup system. A startup
has managed (with a minor irritant). I had to activate Windows.
Then, I tried upgrading the slipstreamed XP Pro processor. He stopped
at the same place during the upgrade and gave the same error as before:

Setup cannot set the required configuration information Windows XP.
This indicates an internal Setup error.

    Experiment 2:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored the system state only
the backup of the pre-existing system. After startup I was asked to
activate Windows, but answer Yes to the question would be to disconnect me
the system. I couldn't get connected to try the XP Pro upgrade.

    Experience 3:

I've restored my minimum system. I then restored only the C:/Windows
the backup of the pre-existing system folder. Once again, as in experiment 1,
the upgrade failed at the same place with the same error message.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

Before the experiment 3, I hoped that 3 experience would succeed so I
could conclude that I had a registry problem. I'm not sure now.
I don't know what to try next. Take the minimum system and reinstalling
my files of the user is not an option that my hard drive has over 200 GB of
programs! If I restore all files and folders of my pre-existing
I would still have backup to restore a system state the reliable (read the registry).
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry for the length! If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your responses.

    Thank you

I uninstalled it, rebooted the PC and then tried to run Windows 7 installation DVD. Then, I realized that my CD/DVD/BD does not, marked with! in the Device Manager. I tried the procedure in this forum to the http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistahardware/thread/957a26d4-4219-4b76-8e89-2e74e6ee2a0e/. I ran SFC tool - it pointed out some problems he couldn't fix it. I tried to update to the latest drivers for the drive, but Windows says that the latest drivers are installed. The properties for the device say: Windows cannot load the driver for this hardware device. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39):

I hope someone from Microsoft or Sony can help - I think that it is catch 22 during the upgrade to Windows 7.

    Hi tomgold,

    Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.

This can also occur if an incorrect device driver has been installed for the DVD-ROM device.

I suggest that you visit the DVD drive manufacturer site download the latest drivers for the drive and install on the computer and if it works. Make sure you download the Windows vista 64-bit driver.

If the above, step fails I would suggest that you run the patch available in the link below and check if it works.
