failure of the disk drive - pre-seed evaluation results

Our computer gives the message "disk failure hard press f1", but he just keeps repeating this message when I press f1.

I ran the ePSA pre-boot system assessment.  It gives a green checkmark to all devices listed on the left, but lists s/o to disk.  But at the end of the trial, he tells me that everything is ok.

Does this mean that my hard drive is shot?  Any suggestions?

SATA 1 is probably the optical drive.   Your hard drive has indeed failed - it would be attached to SATA 0.

You will need a new 3.5 "desktop SATA drive to replace the defective one.

Hello ohgioia2, here is a link that contains information. I don't know if that's enough to get the last memory module.

I don't think you would need to completely remove the DVD disc, but just push forward enough to access the memory.

    Hi Bobby Collas,.

You must have a copy of the installation CD without which you can not re - install the OS again.

If it were an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) installation, you can restore the factory settings. Contact the manufacturer to do the same.

Based on the specifications of your laptop HP 15-f009wm, this model is a CD/DVD drive. The reason for which you cannot find or open the disc drive, is because it is not a. You can buy an external USB CD/DVD drive if you require the use of a CD/DVD drive.

  • Satellite Pro M40, failure of the hard drive - the new disk restore disk?

    Hello

My Satellite Pro M40 hard drive died and I want to install a new drive. Unfortunately, my old drive is 60Gig and the Web of Toshiba parts site has only 40 GB or 80 gig drives.

I have problems with the recovery disk if the hard drive is not exactly the same thing?

    Your advice would be appreciated.

    C

No, he should t be any problem with the Toshiba Recovery CD.

On the recovery CD, you'll find a Windows OS, Toshiba drivers and utilities and software further.
These entire applications are packed into image files.

You should only be sure that the HARD drive is compatible with your laptop and it will be recognized in the BIOS.
Then simply to boot from the recovery and installation CD must start.

  • Pre-seed evaluation error 2000-0332, Inspiron 7720

I have a laptop Dell Inspiron 7720. A few days ago, I have a suggestion of a Dell program to update my BIOS, which I have allowed. Update didn't seem to bring up all additional windows or a progress bar to let me know how would the update, but I don't think too much of it and let the computer do its thing.

In general I just leave my laptop on nonstop and put to sleep when not in use (I remember reading somewhere on the departure of the user of Windows 8 guide just let it sleep instead of turning it off). Yesterday, I went home for Thanksgiving so that my laptop was in mode 'sleep'. When I tried to turn on my laptop, I noticed that it was no longer in fashion 'sleep' and had put off instead. Not much, I thought, but when I turned it on, I got an error screen in the sense of

PXE-# Media test failure, check cable of

    PXE-#: exit Intel PXE ROM

I found myself at the start screen, which allowed me to run the diagnostics. I left running and came across 2000-0332 error code in the form of assessment of pre-boot, who told me that something was wrong with my memory of the video card (abnormality of the video memory integrity test). After a bit of research on this code, it may have something to do with my BIOS and I should try for the flash. However, I wasn't able to do it through USB (I get the error "invalid or damaged bootable partition" when I leave the USB key in start) nor the CD (does not seem to the .exe on the CD is detected).

I tried to get to the BIOS screen by pressing F2 at Dell logo but I always end up on the same screen which lists me my legacy startup options (I don't get the screens of typical BIOS that allows me to change my default settings, boot order, etc.). The choices listed are removable disk, CD/DVD/CD-RW drive, second disk and network. By pressing F12 does the same thing. I noticed that the hard drive is not listed so I though that maybe something was wrong with my HD, but the evaluation shows that it works very well.

I'm really in ideas on what to do. If worst comes to worst, I can try to exchange it for another since I'm still in the trading period, but I prefer to keep my laptop current and its information.

    Hi Andresmou,

I'm sorry for the experience. As the error is related to the video memory, I suggest to install (flash) the latest BIOS and run diagnostic tests. You can download the latest version of the BIOS from the following link by drilling in the Service tag and click on the "Drivers & downloads" tab:
    http://Dell.to/117d6Zu

Please let me know the results of the test.

  • failure of hard disk drive necessary to reinstall WinXP Home on replacement HARD drive

I have an of Western Digital HARD drive with my system of operating XP Home 32-bit installed on my primary C: drive.

I have run the Diagnostics tool online to WD for the reader who found intractable errors on the disc, which indicates an imminent drive failure and an email their technical support confirms the disk needs to be replaced SOON before she completely fails.

I copied all personal off the drive failed on another drive good files and am now ready to remove the failed drive and install a new replacement main primary HDD and then reinstall my XP Home on it - so - until I started to do this thinking, I would ask for tips in anticipation of a smooth, re - install on the new drive.

I got a 25 character key and proof of 8-character license key. There is a Microsoft sticker on the back of the pc (that I do not see to read right now, but its there).

So, I remove the old drive and fit the replacement drive and this format and then install my XP Home - can we see a particular problem with activation?

    concerning

Depending on whether you have a recovery CD suitable for activation key for your sticker or not, there are three possible courses of action. Each activation of the path should not be a problem unless this procedure has been done several times or your 25-character key fell into the wrong hands.

If you have a recovery CD

If you do not have a recovery CD

I hope that your original drive will have a recovery partition or the means to create a recovery CD. If you can create recovery media do now. In the contrary case and the original disc has a recovery partition make a clone of the original hard disk sector by sector to your new car now. If the clone is successful, i.e., that there are no unreadable sectors, is perhaps the best way to proceed in any case, especially if your PC is in good health other than the imminent failure of your HARD drive. If the clone does not work out, you can always fall back on the new installation. The advantage of a clone is that there is no re-setup software to (updates Windows or Office to give just two examples) and didn't need to be restored. I paid for the partitioning/cloning software and have no experience of all freebies out there to make recommendations, perhaps 10crackers can help with this.

If you have managed to create a recovery media, you can use it instead of cloning.

If you clone successfully you can just use it as is, or use the built-in recovery partition that you just cloned to do a clean install.

If you don't have a recovery media and cannot create an and is unable to successfully clone

You will have to contact the manufacturer of your PC to see if they can provide recovery media.

Hello Datsuny, many times this error means that the hard drive has failed or the operating system on the hard disk is damaged.

I would tend to think that the hard drive has failed.
