  My first post, but I tried to find this answer in many ways and had no luck.

  My storm has recently shown a new notification icon that I do not recognize and can not find in the manual or online.

  This new icon looks liks a circle with an error inside. It has a number next to it like the other notification icons indicating the number of items that are seemingly new... But I don't know where the opinion wants to watch me...

  I wanted to let people know that the answeer to the question that I asked had answered for most a poster, which suggests the that appworld check updates. even if I managed the elements that need to be put in day in AppWorld not changed icon. I talked to a representative of Verizon telephone who have experienced this exact problem. She had me go to the "messages" folder and locate the messge in there that corresponded to updates that I had done in the AppWorld. Once I opened these messages, allowed the notification icon. I don't think you have to go to two places to deal with an upgrade but it is deleted the message. I guess I could have erased the only notification icon by going to the "messages" folder and opening the related messages.

  Help please.

  It could be a lot of things.

  Click on the Messages icon, then press the menu key and select display folder.  If you scroll through the records one by one, you should be able to locate the message.

  The best thing to do is to search the files on your phone to the message of guilty.

  While on your home screen, click the Messages icon and then press the menu button and select folder Vew.  Scroll through each folder and look for the message.  A couple of obvious to try would be Messages Browser and WAP Push, but make sure to look in each folder, if you don't see it in them.

  I have a problem where the electronic mail notification icon is incorrectly showing that I have an unread message.  The unread messages search result is no match but the icon remains.

  It started shortly after I opened and closed about 10 messages in quick succession to remove their unread status, so I think he might have got confused.  I reloaded the firmware (v4.6.0.247) and this solved the problem for about eight hours, and then he did it again.

  I hope someone is able to tell me how to solve this problem, because it is very annoying.

  I tried which initially but no messages were found.

  I have since solved the problem by removing the battery.  Simple enough, but it seems to have worked.

  If someone can tell me what and how do I delete an icon that appeared on my phone that would be great.  I have a blue globe with a magnifying glass overtop of the sitting where my notification icons appear, please help?

  It's probably an application by telling you that there is an update available.  Whatever it is, we will help get rid you of the notification.  On your home screen, press the Messages icon and then press your menu button and select the display folder.  Somewhere in one of these folders should be this message.  I guess you could find it in the of browser or WAP Push Messages, but if not, take care to look in each folder.  Most of the messages received in the Notifications area are in these folders.

  We go to the "Messages" folder and open the notification which also has the yellow star.

  

  Once you open the notification, the star disappears immediately on the screen of your BlackBerry.

  He says I have 1 new Facebook notification on my BlackBerry, so I went to see.

  But when I got the notification from Facebook, there is no news.

  So I closed it, but on the home screen, it always says I have 1 new notification.

  IV is a BB user for a few years now and have never met this icon. Its what looks like an envelope with a top global icon with a 1 in a red circle in the corner. I looked everywhere what this could be and cae high mind nothing.   Welcome to the forums, Codi_Lynn! Try this... open a folder, then press the BB menu key. Scroll down to view folders and select it. Check in all these folders to see if you can find the culprit.

  When you add a Yahoo! Mail account on your BlackBerry (that is if you use Yahoo! Mail), it adds a folder in Yahoo! Mail on your BlackBerry screen (the icon is a folder with an icon of 'Y' purple & white).  I could have sworn that whenever you get new e-mail, folder would have some sort of marking icon showing that the mail was sitting inside, mine is not.  I haven't used my BlackBerry a few months that I was using my iPhone but have now retreated to the BlackBerry.  Anyway if anyone can confirm if the Yahoo! Mail folder on the screen is supposed to reflect the new messages (by image) I would appreciate it.  The only icon I've ever seen is at the top of the screen (the area where will your voicemail icon, etc.).

  I have a yahoo email that I rarely use so I had never even added it to my BB. But I just added so I could see what you see and possibly try to help. When I added the email I got the same icon you described. It's an envelope with the purple Y! This overlap. I myself sent a test email. The phone vibrates and I got a notification at the top of my screen that I get for all emails, but unfortunately, the icon remained unchanged which is quite annoying actually because it distinguishes only the folder that contains the new message. I'm sorry.

  Change your theme and see if it persists and return to your desired theme. (Options > theme > select.)
  * Clean and reload your OS.

  Hello and welcome to the community!

  Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.
