  • Latest Firefox block reported attack sites...

    Hi all, in the latest version of Firefox, the option "firefox block reported attack sites" is enabled by default. My question is, mettle is listed as one of these Web sites. I use mettle to allow people to download photos from events that I cover without having to affect the speed of my site... granted some might use mettle for wrong reasons, but not all.
    So, what can I do? Not all visitors to my website would have the knowledge to turn this setting off...

    Block page has been enabled by default for years, but blocking download has been added more recently, perhaps around early March when there was a wave of messages on it.

    The list of bad sites come from secure Google service. Downloads of Firefox updated lists of blocking at regular intervals. It is questionable to block a whole file, hosting site based on a bad user, so I hope that the next iteration of the data file removes the block; We are all at the mercy of the data on it.

    To check where your date file has been updated, you can watch here (type or paste into the start menu search box and press enter or use the Windows Run dialog box):

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

    It's the cache and temporary files folder corresponding to your active profile folder. Double-click your most recently updated and secure profile folder. Normally, you will find that the files have been updated within the last day.

    I went through the FAQ but I can't find a link to the designated form, which allows you to report a false positive. He gives instructions to the point of view of the user when the error is displayed, but I note and strive to solve all the problems that have been reported or confirmed.

  • How can I report a site of attack

    Several times I clicked on a link that takes me to http://fbi.gov.id281381365-2647936272. . v167621 com /? flow_id = 5594 & 730856 = 60962/case_id = 27075 (do not follow this link, except in a separate tab, as the only way to escape is to kill Firefox.) I would like to report it as an attack site so that Firefox can block it, but don't know how.

    I also use Linux, but try not to be too complacent in this regard security wise. It's no good software AV etc. Mac and Android are more frequently target, the same thing could happen with Linux. At least it's easy and cost free to install as many copies as you want.

    I hope that any compromise to open these files would be limited to the memory stick or a used partition. I also use is restricted, not administrator for navigation on the day accounts the day.

    The particular file / link you declare is not even blocking my normal browser that I use regularly No.-script.

    Firefox moves to limit plugins using the native, but moved in the opposite direction with JavaScript and removal of the option user interface easy to disable js.

    I have not tested this form of attack on Windows again, it affects Firefox but not Google Chrome and IE Windows can also be immune to it.

    I just installed Kaspersky Internet security on my computer and I can't use money secure, the site dangerous blocker add on and Advisor to the URL and virtual keyboard are all off saying that they are not compatible with Firefox 26.0. Is this something that will set a more recent version of Firefox?

    Hello carlaw, no, this isn't something that can be fixed by mozilla. It is always the responsibility of the third party developer, which provides an addon which hangs in firefox to make it compatible with new versions of firefox. Please contact kaspersky support about when they will release an update to their software to work with new versions of firefox. Thank you!

  • EM12cR2 - "purge jobs' repository (?) falsely reported down job scheduler

    EM12cR2 on Linux x 86-64 with a 11.2.0.3 database repository. This arose after my upgrade to 12.1.0.1 + BP1 yesterday.

    On the Repository page (Setup-> manage Cloud Control-> repository), in the Planner receiving section job status, the work of "Purge jobs" is shown as down with a white and red arrow for the next time the request and last run on demand. All other works seem to be good and are running successfully.

    It also appears as an incident stating "UpDown DBMS job for job Purge has exceeded the critical threshold (BOTTOM). "Current value: down.

    The framework for this (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24628_01/em.121/e25162/oracle_emrep.htm#autoId20) metric metric reference manual indicates that this measure is equivalent to the "broken" DBMS_JOB status and suggests recovering the job_id argument and present again, but the instructions do not find something useful.
    SQL> sho user
    USER is "SYSMAN"
    SQL> select dbms_jobname from mgmt_performance_names where display_name = 'Job Purge';

      COUNT(*)

    No message ORA-12012 found in the alert/trace logs.

    Repvfy is also reported as missing scheduler jobs:

    Job Purge                                MGMT_JOB_ENGINE.apply_purge_policies()
    The MGMT_JOB_ENGINE package is no longer contains apply_purge_policies. It seems to have moved to EM_JOB_PURGE.

    According to dba_scheduler_jobs, EM_JOB_PURGE. APPLY_PURGE_POLICIES works very well:
    SQL> select job_action, enabled, state, failure_count, last_start_date, last_run_duration
      2  from dba_scheduler_jobs where job_name = 'EM_JOB_PURGE_POLICIES';

    +000000000 00:00:09.464552
    It seems to me this is a kind of metadata incompatibility between mgmt_performance_names and DBMS Scheduler and is probably not something to worry about. Any thoughts?

    It is a 10.2.0.5 remains that was not cleaned for a reason any. Please run the following SQL as SYSMAN to correct the problem.

    UPDATE MGMT_PERFORMANCE_NAMES SET display_name = NULL,
    dbms_jobname = NULL, is_dbmsjob = 'n', is_deleted = 'Y '.
    WHERE AS UPPER (DBMS_JOBNAME) ' MGMT_JOB_ENGINE. APPLY_PURGE_POLICIES %';

  • False reports showing Action Center

    Hello

    My Windows Health Center shows my Virus Protection and firewall off which are both wrong. I have Norton Internet Security, which is 2016 updated and working properly. I have Windows 7, which is also updated. A Mater of fact, the error message in the center of the Action has begun after the last Windows update last Tuesday. Even if that I click on the "turn on Now" under Virus protection, nothing happens. The error message is not fixed even if Norton is not working properly.

    Is it possible to fix these error messages?  They are just annoying. I just disable them see the flag with the Red Cross.

    Hi Yann,

    Thanks for trying to help. The problem has been resolved! I got a big update of Norton today via Live Update

    It made me restart the computer. After that, the problem has been resolved. No red flags in the center of the Action.

    Thank you once again,

    Amy

  • How do I complain about bad web site

    A website came looking for another Web site. The site claimed the name of the site I was looking for. When I chose the wrong link I have taken www.mawords.com which showed a header that it implies was the site I was looking for. When I clicked to exit the page another page, an ad has opened in a new tab which took my screen of blasting. I had to endure advertising unwanted until I found a way to escape the tab (close).
    This is a bad experience especially for the average (novice) user. How mozilla users complain about these kind of pouncing and abusive web marketing?

    Hi stirrer, there are a few things you can do to report the site. The first thing you can do is report it to Firefox/Mozilla. You can do so by accessing the area where you can get in the Firefox settings. You don't want to click on Firefox. Instead you want to do is click on the question mark. It comes to the help section. One of the options on this is "a false report web. This information will go to Mozilla so that we can help others avoid this site. If you want to report to law enforcement and you live in the US you can go to ic3.gov .
