Family photo sharing albums: everything?

I can't find a clear article on this topic: If the family sharing is enabled, it is said that we * shared * album will be created "automatically". I have not seen elsewhere... (true: I was not choosing "photos" in the context of family iCloud because I have no idea what's going to go...)

This means that all of the pictures taken with the iPad, iPhone and iDevices will go into this shared album? Or peut-all the world still select "what" to go in there? (5000 photos limit can be filled with ratherly quickly in the trends of today '...) And everyone doesn't want to share each photo in the album.

And this work is only for pictures taken with Apple devices, or I can also put there any picture taken with a real camera?

Thank you

Rob

The family album shared behaves similar to other shared albums. You must manually add photos to the album.

And you can add any photo you have in your library on any device.

When the family sharing is enabled, a shared album is set up automatically in the Photos app on devices of all members of the family. Then, anyone can add photos, videos and reviews to the album and be notified when something new is added. You can add or view photos and videos on your Mac's iPhoto and Photos on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with iOS 7 or later.

  • Sharing photos of family not appearing album is not in the Photos app

    Hello world

I have a family of shared iCloud album to which my wife downloaded a few dozens of photos of Christmas and videos. They appear on my phone (although I can not import everything from here that you cannot import videos on iOS for some weird reason), but only 3 items appear in the family album shared the pictures to Mac. This has already happened and is extremely frustrating - it means basically has no way for me to import these items in my library. Has anyone encountered this problem? Thank you.

Both have iCloud photo library and sharing photos on iCloud

Created a shared week album last Tuesday or Wednesday which shows on iPhone but not my macbook pro.

The photos show on the mac in photos but the shared album is missing. All my other shared albums show on my mac.

AH HA.  I used to look at the photos through system preferences settings. I just checked photos > Preferences > iCloud, which shows the «update» Thursday Today is Wednesday then why isn't it up-to-date? And more importantly, how can I force it to sync?

  • Sharing Albums not showing is not on MacBook Pro Photos

When I opened the Photos on my laptop (macbook pro), I don't see my albums shared in the left column. I have in the past, but they went. How to make a comeback? iCloud photo sharing is turned on. (Why find Photos Apple so hard when everything else is so easy?)

Check, if you shared albums hidden.  There is a "Show/hide" hidden to the right of the "Shared" title control The pointer there to reveal.

Click on 'Show', if this option is available.

If the title "Shared" does not show at all, check, if the shared Albums are enabled in your Photos > Preferences > iCloud.  If Yes, but records do not show, disable iCloud, sharing in system preferences > iCloud, then restart the Mac and reactivate the iCloud, photo sharing.

  • iCloud remove my photos from shared Albums

    Hello!

Yesterday, I had more than 9,500 pictures on one of my shared Albums, I'm using to storage pictures and all of a sudden, 4950 only appear. It has been removed and the rest and I do not have them in my camera roll over. What became of these photos? Why aren't on my shared album more?

Is it possible to recover? I'm trying to restore my iPhone from an old backup to see if the pictures are still there, but since I had more than 28000 photos on film, it takes ages to restore.

Another thing that has happened, they have been removed at random. I had downloaded them from day to day that I took them, and now some of them are gone.

I read the forum and saw that the maximum amount per shared album is 5000 photos, so my question is: these pictures will be back if I change the remaining to a new album?

I would be very sad if they will not be the last photos I thought I downloaded correctly, is very important to me.

Thank you in advance for your help!

You also use iCloud photo library? Once you have shared these photos, a delete you them from your phone?

I have pictures from multiple sources in a single shared album. Photos are not in order (each device had date and different time). I can change something order these photos? I even tried to delete the shared album, rearrange photos in my album, I shared this album published, but the photos are still in the wrong order.

    Thank you

Shared albums the photo order depending on how they are added, you can not change the order later.

I created an album shared in iCloud and populated with photos after I had entered to be detailed for each of them.  My guests of the shared album can't see data description.  I can see it only when I use the Photos on a Mac app and do not see it if I use an iPad or an iPhone.  Am I missing something?

My guests of the shared album can't see data description.  I can see it only when I use the Photos on a Mac app and do not see it if I use an iPad or an iPhone.  Am I missing something?

No, unfortunately not - it is impossible to share the descriptions and titles.

Metadata (descriptions, titles, locations, faces) will be removed from your photos when share you them in a shared album.

If you want your friends to be able to see a legend, add a comment when you share pictures.

No, titles and descriptions will be eliminated from the shared photo.  Add a comment to describe your photo after that share you.

  • Can I delete photos from my Mac WITHOUT removing them from shared albums?

I only use photo program to create shared to my AppleTV photo albums and display on my iPhone. I keep all my original photos in Lightroom database. I also add photos to my albums shared from two separate Macs connected to the same account iCloud. I'm about to re - format one of my Mac and wonder if I can simply delete all the pictures I imported into the Photos on one of my Macs locally without affecting what is stored in albums shared in the iCloud photo library?

    Thank you.

As long as you do not remove the shared Albums are under the shared section in the sidebar, that images can be removed from the library and stay in line in the shared album:

Try the settings/iCloud and remove the synchronization. Wait a few minutes and then resynchronize.

Have you tried the signature to iCloud and then reconnect?

  • How to manage users of Lightroom photo sharing with the family?

I'm looking for some best practices on how to manage the workflow of photo sharing.  Obviously the user of Lightroom does not want family members to start messing around with photos outside of Lightroom, and if the photos are not JPGs family members may be unable to view them in any case.  A solution I can think of is to shoot photos in JPG format and in Camera Raw at the same time and save the jpg files in a folder accessible to all and only import Camera Raw ones in Lightroom.

    Flickr works as well.

  • iCloud shares photos - Big album

    Hello

So I just got back from vacation, and I have a big album with all my vacation photos and videos, already uploaded to iCloud (I can see them in the icloud.com page). Then, I wanted to share it with the family with any iDevices. I selected all the photos and videos and created a shared album with web link to it. Then I realized that the shared page was almost empty at the beginning, then more and more size about 5 images a minute. Wait, why?  Then I put my phone in airplane mode and stopped updating its contents page. Then I realized... was my phone to download everything again?

My question: If the photos are already synced in the cloud, why should I on my phone to download again? The album was like 1 GB in size, I would like to share with the quick family. In addition, I don't know if I'm wifi connected, I'll use data connection to what he...

    Thanks in advance,

    João Cruz

Shared albums use reduced resolution photos and videos, so no, they do not already exist and that you need not download.

  • must anyone using iCloud photo sharing have an Apple device

The family has an iPhone or a Mac computer.  Some computers are older and do not work elCapitan.  Should everyone have an Apple elCapitan device to use sharing photos running?

You can view sharing photos without an Apple device, if you share your albums as a public web page and send the link to anyone without an Apple device, see this help page:

iCloud, sharing photos - Apple Support

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT202786

You can even share albums with friends and family who do not use iCloud. Just open a shared album you have created, go to the people tab on your iOS device or click on on your Mac and turn on the Public website. Your photos publish on a website that anyone can see in an up-to-date web browser.
