Fan at high speed after upgrade to 1.4 (7 c) 1.5 (1f)

Hello

After the 1.4 Firmware Update (7 c) 1.5 (1f) through HUU on my two C220M3 the fan speed is higher than before (8500 - 9000 RPM).

Is this normal?

the servers are very loud.

Best regards

Nico

Hello Nico,

Yes, it's normal version 1.5.1f as we have increased the speed of the FAN to work around the known issues.

http://Tools.Cisco.com/support/BugToolKit/search/getBugDetails.do?method=fetchBugDetails&bugId= CSCue68150

The next major version of the firmware will host additional logic that bring down the speed of the FAN.

Yesterday, I updated to windows 7 pro for windows 10 pro.  I have rarely heard my fan in windows 7 and only when I was cad or had a large number of open images.  With 10 windows, my fan is at high speed all the time.

    Suggestions?

    Ok

Found two programs running that caused the fan to high speed.

One was post 2012 31% of the processor chips

    other was

E-mail private, removed the Alertusdesktop for now and normal operation.

  • Re: Satellite C55-A-1JL - the fan spins at high speed after updating BIOS

    Hello

I've upgraded the BIOS of 1.20 to 1.40 and my computer started to automatically restart after a few minutes. the fan continues to run at high speed all the time

    Someone knows why?

Question: the laptop work properly not to mention that the fan is rotating fast?

Generally after updating the BIOS you must always load the BIOS default settings.
In the BIOS, press F9 (load by default), and then press F10 to save the changes.

    Try it

  • Fans always operate at high speed after power failure

HP Pavilion Slimline S5780T - Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

After a power failure a night or more recent, our Pavilion Slimline case fan and CPU fan have both run at high speed all the time, starting from the system. The level of noise is intolerable.

I opened and cleaned all the dust from the inside of the case, including the removal of the heatsink from the CPU. Everything is clean.

I ran the following HP Vision diagnostic, test the system, including fans. During the test of fan, the fans ran at 100%, then fell to the former level normal, quiet, then ramp back up to 100%. So says HP fans diagnostic tests are OK when there is always a problem. And it is possible for them to run at slow, normal speed.

I installed the free SpeedFan utility, but there is not place to adjust the fan speed manually.

How can I find the problem and the fans run at normal speed, as they did before the power failure? Everything that controls the speed of the CPU fan and the fan is broken.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Stephen - Myrtle Beach, SC

Strange things happen when power flucuations or failures occur.  Most probably the motherboard has been damaged by the PPE and that is normally not as repairable by a DIY.  If you could find a newer BIOS, that to solve the problem.  Since there can be no more recent BIOS, try to remove the battery from the motherboard for the night and then put the file in and reset the BIOS to see if that helps the default value.  Otherwise, it might be repairable.

  • Satellite A100 - the fan runs at high speed after idle standby

    Hello

    My laptop is Satellite A100-912.

The problem is when I suspend it for more the a few minutes when the fan is running at high speed. This occurs on both Windows XP and Linux GNU. When the temperature of the two nuclei will more then 51 degrees C fan slows down and begins to work as expected. Suspended for a short time (about a minute or two) the fan speed is OK.

I've updated to the latest version of the BIOS.

The workstation is still under warranty.

They arrived after upgrade to Windows 10 (from 8.1 to Windows) and put such BIOS updated as recommended by HP support Assistant.

I was on the process to refresh the 10 Windows , then the system automatically tried rebooting to complete the update, but he never did it again! and then the fans running at full speed. After waiting for 2-3 minutes, I had to hold the power button to turn off the computer.

After waiting for about 10 minutes, I tried to start the computer, but the same thing happened: you press the button power and then after about a minute , fans rotating at high speed, no signal, no BIOS, no noise, no power in the keyboard or mouse, the blue LED light to the rear.

So I let the computer without power for 7 hours... (The power cable is disconnected).

At 11:00: reconnected the power cable (HDD and DVD ROM are DISCONNECTED) and tried to start but the same thing happened.

Now, I'm on google to find a solution:

    1. power? (Have not yet been tested food.)
2 motherboard? No damage to the capacitors or anything else.
3 reset the BIOS/CMOS? (Power disconnected cable) Removed the battery and put it back it, held the CMOS button for 5 seconds.
4 graphics card? Replaced the K5000 Quadro with a Quadro 4000.
    5. exercise of the power of the system? held the power button with the power cord unplugged for 30 seconds.

None of the above solves the problem but now when you press the power button / the fans start to run at high speed immediately! This got worse?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The problem is a faulty motherboard and it was replaced under warranty.

  • iMac fan runs full speed after the migration wizard

Hi, just a clean installed 10.9.5 BONES and then I used the migration assistant to transfer my backup time machine from my old computer. He made the transfer, took nearly 4 hours. Then when he was done he rebooted the computer, and as soon as he started the fans in the computer run at full speed. I have a small (HARD drive fan control) software that I have installed to see the temperature and it tells me 119F and fans are 4962 RPM. Why it does this?

Once the computer restarts, it said it was computer optimization and it can affect performance, can that cause the problem of fan? I did e-mail importing and installing imessage and now I'm looking at the speed of the fan and it is now 118f 4638 RPM... always very noisy. This computer did not a fan NOISE until I migrated my data.  Help, please!

Once the computer restarts, it said it was computer optimization and it can affect performance, can that cause the problem of fan?

Yes. It should settle down after the Spotlight indexing. Which can take some time, depending on the number of files that needed to index.

119 ° F is on the colder side of normal and no reason for concern.

  • Tecra S11 - fan high speed

    Hi guys,.

I need help on a question that really puzzle me.

After I tried to do a bios update to the last version (February, 2012), in windows 7, I got an error message stating that I didn't have permission to do the update. Since then, the fan starts to run at high speed, as soon as I start the computer, just after the display of the logo.

Since then I updated the bios by using the procedure in back, but the problem persists. It behaves as a flight entirely large capacity server regards fan noise.

How can I fix it and fix it?
    Thank you.

You have a fingerprint reader software preinstalled on this laptop?
    Please check

The old fingerprint reader software caused a few problems like intermittent hang up or freeze your machine (possible high rotation FAN), as shown here:

  • Aurora R4 fans operating at 100% after 10 Windows upgrade

After upgrading my Aurora R4 for Windows 10 I suddenly after a week suddenly had problems with my control center and control of fans and lighting.

When I turn on my Alienware fans go to 100% speed and stays there. No control of the fans in the command center, also not able to control them manually.

Tried to reinstall the center of command several times. versions 3.5 and 3.6. Also tried the drain of power between UN-installing and installation. BIOS is A11.

Summer contemplating the purchase of a new Council MIO but reading other messages I do not his failure as it seems that most of the issues related to the fans operating at 100% is related to the Windows upgrade 10. I tried running MIO diagnostic tools, but it will not work through the test.

There is a blue light until then in left corner of the members of the IMU.

My understanding is that the MIO card is connected via a USB port on the motherboard. What is problems with the origin of this problem USB driver?

Does anyone know if Dell is working on a fix for this?

Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you

    KO

I have same exact problem on my R4 Aurora just upgraded to Windows 10.  I think it is a bug in the controller of Alienware Dell must fix as soon as possible (but probably will not fix soon, or never).  It is not your MIO Board, because many others have this same problem and I do not think that all these maps MIO just failed at the same time.

I hope that Dell reads these forums because we do need a software fix for this.

You can use a workaround and launch control center and go to the thermal control.  Adjust the fans from automatic to manual at a set speed or use the curve.  Then restart. It should pump fans several times on how to start and stop, but after starting the fans should settle.

Also sleep no longer works on Windows 10 on the R4.  Put the PC to sleep works for a few minutes but he then wakes up and will not fall asleep.  Too bad Dell certified the R4 for windows 10 prematurely.  I would have never improved my Windows 7 Pro I knew all these problems existed.

  • HP 8510W boot not until the cool, the fan runs at high speed

I did a little research but didn't really much other than dust cleaning. I did this, even removed the fan and the heat sink.

    Operating system: 32-bit Win7

Early days of cold, boots upwards, normally, the fan turns at slow speed. CPUID Hardware Monitor shows all the time in the range 30 c - 60 c. From a web browser will cause the fan to spped, finally at full throttle, CPUID HW Monitor says:

    TZ2_ up to 90 C

    TZ5_ up to 100 C

    Remote1 up to 90 C

    Other times remain in the range of 30 c - 60 c

The task manager's performance tab shows 1%-3% CPU, 30-40% consumption of Mem.

Close all does not help, time remain high and the fan continues to run at high speed. Reset does not succeed, it will cut down, try to restart and stop again. Finally, it will sometimes get a screen where Windows thinks it could not start and wants to fix/reinstall the files, or go back to a restore point. If to cool for 10 to 15 minutes, it will start normally with the low fan speed until something starts to run (CPUID HW Monitor and Task Manager do not cause the fan speed).

So nobody knows what TZ2_, the TZ5_ and the Remote1 map 30 5 8510W mother? Is this a real plus temp likely situation, ot possibly a problem with bios/driver not reading sensor properly?

Well well, so far, no response, but I seem to have solved the problem. I tried reverting heatsink composed of all chips connected to the conduct of heat with no improvement. By checking things right after a stop, I noticed that the graphics chip was too hot to the touch even with the new complex. This meant that it was not the heat pipe.

Ordered a used one from eBay, put it in and now it's stay nice and cool, not more than 60 C.

The part number for the heat pipe is 452227-001.

  • Fan runs continuously at a higher speed

I have a HP laptop. This problem started a little over a month ago: the fan started to run constantly at high speed and I was afraid that my LT was overheating so I went online to find solutions and the offered was "cleaning". I blow the air frequently, because I have a dog. So without taking it apart, I think it's relatively clean.

After 'cleaning' didn't solve the problem, I have blocked some programs (many) start with the startup of the computer. That worked wonders. Not only the fan seems to 'calm down', but picked up speed and freezing (flash plugin AHHHHH drive) until reduced to a minimum.

Now, he resumed running continuously and at high speed. I went to check and make sure that the start menu had not changed. It seems still good. When I run the Task Manager, it will display an application that is running, but 20 to 30 processes and services from 50 to 60. I have maturities adjust this number if I knew which ones it was safe to stop. I tried Googling some of them, but could not understand what is needed and what is sure to stop and exactly how to do it.

    Any thoughts?

    M

Rather than guess about potential overheating, download a program to monitor material as one of the following conditions:

    SpeedFan

    HWMonitor

    Core Temp

As much as that processes and services 'need' to be executed, you essentially already do the correct thing - searches on the names online.  If there are specific processes or services that you wish to get more information, provide the names and maybe someone here will have some tips (without guarantee).

You can also right click on one during the process in the Manager of tasks and select Properties.  The location of the file (under the general tab) and information on the Details tab can provide clues about what made the process.
