  • Update LCD on T60 2008-CTO

    Hello everyone.

I'm trying to replace a screen LCD XGA on my T60 2008-CTO with a SXGA Panel + for more resolution.

According... http://www-307.IBM.com/PC/support/site.WSS/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-62784 , the frame numbers match and that should be possible.

So I bought the said Panel of... http://www.ETech.com/item--NYK412-034 and it does not work properly.

For all connected, I get gradually melted into lines of colors on the screen.

If I disconnect and reconnect the control panel while the laptop is turned on, I get a very distorted picture and wrong dimension on it and change the resolution in windows changes the serious distortion a bit.

Could someone shine light on it?

Is that possible even exchange, or the resolution of the LCD permanently within the motherboard somehow?

I currently have a LTN141XA-L01 as my LCD XGA panel if it matters.

    Thanks in advance,

    -DeagleRevolver

    Welcome to the forum!

Yes, you can upgrade your T60 a SXGA + Panel, however, I doubt that what you bought is a real issued by Lenovo LCD, plus probably a sign 'no brand generic but compatible with everything '.

There are a number of RUF on this 'new' LCD?

  • Replace the fan in T60

For anyone who has installed a new fan in their T60, do you know how to interpret correctly the tables of Lenovo parts for a spare for the T60 fan?  I type/model 2613-EJU and the two part #41V9932 AND #41W6407 are under the separate tables for thermal device and (integrated) fan for the 2613. Which is correct?  I want to assure you that ordering the right pair. Also, how complicated has been replaced?  The instructions contained in the manual of air maintenance simple. Previously, I upgraded the hard drive, from 80 to 300 GB without problem (because of some excellent tips, I've discovered in this community!). -Thank you

    PAL, welcome to the forum,

If you look on this site , you will see that 41V9932 is correct RUF, in the listed models against the RUF, you will see 2613-EJx that isn't against the 41W6407. It is relatively easy to replace; you will find the instructions in the hardware maintenance manual (pdf page 95).

    Hope this helps

  • Fan of T60 replacing Question

First of all I'm out of warranty, so I compare the cost of the piece to the cost for the renewal of the guarantee; the part is less expensive.

I replace my T60 2613 fan (41V9931) I had looked around the web and heard talk about the thermal grease, some need me? If so what kind?

    willvette, welcome to the forum,

If you order an original fan of Lenovo, it will come with thermal grease and blocks already in place, you will need to just clean up the remains of the old grease etc. of cpu & co if this is the case before you install it.

Important: the thermal pads have a very thin plastic film glued to them, to prevent corruption during transport?, you must remove these before installing the fan. If you do not; You can have heat problems and your laptop - well, starting to feel a little uncomfortable

  • T60 2008 CM5 graphics card

Hello. I have an ATI Raedon Mobility x 1300 GC currently installed and I saw that this can have an ATI Mobility FireGL V5250. Which is the limit, or that I'd be able to go a bit further and put an ATI Mobility FireGL V5725 inside? Help would be very appreciated.

    Roku1234 wrote:

So, in short, 5250 is the Max, I'll be fine?

Edit: If so, how I would go to switch out them? (Sorry if this is in the wrong place or something. New and do not know what goes where.)

Yes, V5250 is the top dog.

You will need to find a motherboard for a late T60p which has a V5250 and replace your current card with her. Once more, the card is soldered and cannot be toggled on its own.

  • 2008 T60 - HK4 to Win7 XP update

This T60 2008 - HK4 has the Intel Core Duo T5600 and ATI Mobility Radeon X 1300 graphics card.  I have the Win7 Pro retail pack update that says that this upgrade must be done as a clean install.  I visited the Lenovo site and picked up that many pilots were available but I see no more than a Vista one of 2007.  Similar story with the Ethernet driver.

Someone did he do this upgrade with this configuration?  Have you met the pitfalls associated with these missing drivers or even the old Vista, those that work well?

I don't have my mind yet whether to go to 64-bit.  I have 4 GB of RAM on board.  A counterargument is my need to use Adobe Framemaker, which has a bad reputation working on 64-bit.  Other limitations of the software, are there other traps with 64-bit on this material?

    TIA

I did this upgrade, and it works perfectly.

Windows 7 update will download most of the drivers, and those who are missing can be downloaded using the Thinkvantage update system.

T60 won't recognize max 3 gigs, even if you use 64 bit OS. So there won't be much point using the 64 bit OS.

  • Radiator fan works in passive cooling of the political system (Thinkvantage Power Manager 3.62)

    Hi all.

I have a model thinkpad T60 2008 and how it works on Windows 7. Everything was fine. Two weeks ago, I noticed that he would get a little warmer than usual. It was a year that I opened it, I decided to a maintenance operation. I used the manual and opened the computer laptop, gently removed the heat sink, use the air compressed to remove dust and reinstalled. I also put a drop of thermal paste on the processor peas for good measure. Put all back together and it runs a lot cooler.

I usually use my laptop running on battery Maximum when unplugged, and for this I keep the political liabilities cooling system. My question is, the fan should run in this mode? Because since I fixed it, my heatsink fan is running in passive mode (never noticed before running in passive mode) and I think it is running my battery time past.

Any ideas on how to solve this problem or if this is normal will be appreciated. Have a nice day together.

    -Ibrahim.

In passive mode, the temperature threshold for what fan comes in is increased, then the fan would turn up to maximum speed only when it reaches a higher temperature. But the fan will always kick.

When replace you the radiator, make sure that thermal paste is applied correctly, not too much just enough to get a thin layer on the CPU.

  • T60 Portable appears on-screen Volume after has Hotkey of integration update

I have a laptop ThinkPad T60 (2008-HC6) running Windows 8 Pro (32 bit). Today (24/01/2013), I installed the 'Hotkey for Windows 8 features Integration' update which was released January 18, 2013. After the reboot, the display indicator pops up when I change the volume on my laptop by pressing the volume up, volume down, or disable the keys does not appear. The keys work fine, but the indicator does not appear.

I tried looking for an online solution. A common solution, installation of Lenovo Energy Management, does not solve my problem. No other software has been changed on my laptop between when the last power worked and when I installed the update of keyboard shortcuts.

I found the problem was with the "On Screen Display" of the update part. This particular update is in two parts to it. First, it adds the "Lenovo Patch Utility" program. Second, it updates the "On Screen Display" program, assuming that an older version was already on the computer updated. Adding the "Lenovo utility Patch" caused no harm, but the update of the "On Screen Display" prevents the on-screen indicator of volume display.

In the end, what I ended up doing took off the "On Screen Display" with the same utility as I used to be updated. Then I downloaded the latest next version of the utility and installed the version of the utility of the program "On Screen Display".

My volume indicator screen is now back and works well.

  • Radiator and fan on Thinkpad T60 T61

    Hello

Its time to change the fan on my Thinkpad T60. I thought to replace the entire cooling system (fan and heat sink). Is it possible, in terms of compatibility, use a T61 radiator and fan? I mean having a FRU:41V9932 and FRU:42W2820. I've heard that T61 cooling system, is better than the T60, his cooler etc and more completely.

What is did anyone of you experience this nature? Are they compatible physics?

    Thank you

    My model:

    ThinkPad T60, 14.1 "

    BIOS: 79ETE7WW (2.27)
    Product ID: 2623-D6U
CPU T2400 Intel Due Core (Yonah), 31W
    GPU: ATI X 1300

  • Replacing the fan for w/15.4 "screen and GPU integrated T60

    Greetings,

The combo fan/heater several months ago, I bought for my T60 was apparently the 41W6409 for a T60 with discreet gpu and cpu, but mine is an integrated model that uses the 41W6408.

As I can't return it, I was just thinking to replace the old fan with that on the new heatsink. But I'm not sure that it will fit, being the only FRU I could find for the Fan/Heatsink combo.

So, I was wondering if someone here who happened to know if these fans are the same.

Thank you very much in advance.

Steve, you can use the unobtrusive radiator on your integrated motherboard. In fact, the best option in my opinion is to go with a T61 heatsink that is designed to cool the much more powerful X 3100 graphics and uses the thermal paste rather than pads type blade of silicone used to cool graphic systems T60. Alternatively, you can replace these pads with thermal paste on the heatsink T60 but unity T61 is better in my opinion. I can't tell you if the fans are interchangeable, because there was more than one fan used on the T60 models intel, some were, and some were not. There was also a discreet couple different sinks of heat, but will be more than enough for the cooling of your integrated graphics. Platform which cools the discrete gpu will not be used so it isn't a problem and cooling chipset platform will suffice for the cooling of your integrated graphics.

  • T60 Fan 200772U

    Hello

I have a T60 2077-72U who becomes "Fan Error" during boot, then turns off. During the short period is tring to start the fan makes a loud noise. I need to replace the fan, but Lenovo parts dept look for the part number for me. The laptop is long out of warranty. I have a friend once part installation that I get it but hoping you guys can help me understand what part to buy. Thank you very much.

All machines non-wide-screen T60 with graphics processor dedicated (like yours) use the same fan. There were 2 sellers. The references are 41W6407 and 41V9932. Probably, the 2nd number will be cheaper. I have found no difference in their cooling capacity. Be sure to clean and replace the thermal compound when you install it. If you buy a new fan of Lenovo, he'll probably come to stick on the radiator.

  • T60 - thermal grease replacement fan

My T60 fan started whining then IBM sent me a replacement fan and a tube of thermal grease - but the fan already has the thermal grease on it.

Fat is actually a matrix of 5 x 7 of 35 points of thermal grease. Everything I've ever read on the application of thermal paste says that it should be applied in a very thin layer, smooth and these thermal grease points seem quite in line with that.

1 should I flatten points and spread them thinly? Or IBM expects we just install what it is - maybe the pressure during the installation is supposed to flatten out the appropriate grease?

2 should I create some handy pure alcohol to remove all the old grease before replacing the fan?

    Hello

    1. the points will become flat and a thin layer under pressure and when it is applied.

    2. Yes, clean the old grease.

    3. watch any contact part´s get´s fat.

Like your old radiator, it takes grease on the new.
