Fan is a failure on the 6th generation airport base

Recently the fan on my airport began to howl and grinding.  It is more under warranty, but I am pretty sure that I can replace it if I had a replacement part number.  Google was not helpful.  Any suggestions?

The fan has a common point of failure on this model?

Unfortunately, Apple considers that AirPort Extreme waterproof a device, and as such, they do not spare parts for the product.

You will have to possibly remove the old fan and see if it might be an original manufacturer and number on the piece itself that you could use to find a suitable replacement.  The airport I took out some used time ago a fan of Delta. See step 12 in the article below.

We do not see very many reports of noisy fans... the usual problem is an intermittent power supply.

You need to be extremely careful when you open the AirPort Extreme that there are a number of connectors that can be easily broken.

This article should provide assistance and advice:

You can't do this for a simple reason.

  • How can you put in place the first generation Airport Express with Yosemite

Is it still possible? If this is not the case, can itbee with an iPhone or an iPad?

    Athanasios

Are you sure that you have a 1st generation AirPort Express?

It was the 1st version of 802.11"n" products... and you will probably have a lot more older 802.11' b/g ' device that was used long before that Apple has started using the name of 'generation' in 2008.

Please look carefully at the side of your AirPort Express Terminal to locate the model number. It is difficult to see gray inscription on white background, so you may need good lighting and reading glasses.

The model of a 1st generation AirPort Express is A1264.

If you see A1084 or A1088, these are much older devices "b/g" which ranks Apple as obsolete... then they have not been supported for the past 3-4 years in the latest operating systems.

So again, you have... or can borrow... a Mac running Leopard (10.5.x) or operating system Snow Leopard (10.6.x) or a PC that has AirPort Utility for Windows installed on the device, you can administer the older devices, A1084 and A1088 like that.

  • Songs aside with iPod touch (6th generation)

I got the iPod Classic for all my music has died. I replaced it with an iPod Touch (6th generation), but it seems that I lost the ability to evaluate my songs they play (used to be able to click on the middle button a few times and use the scroll wheel). I have created custom smart playlists based on the song ratings and if I have to be at my computer to write down all my songs, he would take my forever and probably never did. I see the 6th generation iPod allows you to songs favourites (with a heart), but now I'm wondering if it is transferred to ITunes somehow. I am not even of the ratings of my songs displayed when iPod touch play. Is the ability to rate on the fly songs a way of the past?

I discovered how do. During playback of a particular song, type the name of the track and the ranking is displayed.

This sounds like a sensor loose or pinched wire.

You may be able to see the problem of sensor or sensor wire with the diagnosis of Apple to test or a third party temp. followed by the application, but the best would be to book a service appointment at your local CENTRE.

  • How can I erase all the files on my iPod Nano (6th generation) and start over?

I can sync is more manually all the files that I need on my iPod Nano (6th generation) to my Macbook (OS 10.6.8) because it is full.  Instead of delete folders and songs about the Nano, which would take forever, I'd rather delete it all and start by cleaning up the folder that I keep in my iTunes library (11.4), then by loading all on the Nano.

    How do I:

    (1) delete all music from the Nano?

    (2) see how many in the iPod folder in my iTunes library Macbook so I know what to remove?

I know this must be a simple process, but it's been a long time I did!  Thanks for any help out there.

When your iPod is connected to your MacBook, open iTunes, click on your iPod in the sidebar and in the 'Summary' tab, click 'Restore iPod.'

If you don't see the sidebar in iTunes, go to the view menu in the menu bar, and then click see the sidebar.

  • Laptop only starts when the 6th attempt.

I have problems with our Acer laptop.

He was recently sent a technician through a faulty connector which was replaced, but since the technician changed making it wouldn't start at all.  Ideally, the technician said it was a motherboard failure, but I don't believe him.

Since then, I had the laptop to boot and it works normally BUT it always takes 6 tries to start.  When you turn it on it turns (lights, fan, etc.) but stop and then down in seconds and done this 5 times and then the 6th time it starts normally.

A secondary issue is that when it starts the keyboard automatically starts to type in the password field, and the only way to sign up with our password is to use the "virtual keyboard".  Once we have signed in a few keys work fine, but others don't work at all.  I'm assuming that the technician has damaged the keyboard when making out, but thought I would mention this in case it could be linked to the issue of starting.

I did tests of the complete antivirus, windows updates, BIOS update, Check Disk, Defragged, etc., but the issue of boot has not changed.

I have not yet tried the ' boot from last good known configuration "or a"System Restore"as I now actually had to start that I didn't know if it could still cause problems.

Can someone give me a few troubleshooting tips?

    sfc/scannow is a good initiative.

  • iPod Nano 6th generation of devices

I have an iPod Nano 6th generation. I would like to continue to use it to play music during the night while I SLEEP. I got an iHome unit, but who has just died. I have two conditions for a new device. The device must plug into a wall outlet and charge the iPod Nano.

Can someone suggest a new device?

There are two separate functions here.  Charging the iPod and speakers are active.  The iPod has two connectors for audio output and power, so do not force yourself to a single device.

Use a common USB adapter, (that plugs into the wall), as the type that comes with the iPhone or other device and standard USB cable to charge the battery of the iPod.  Connect common self-powered speakers, as the type that people use computers, making headphone iPod.  That is how I use my iPod touch on the bedside table.

  • New Ipod Touch (6th generation)... Brick!

New Ipod Touch (6th generation).  Right out of the box and as expected, another update Super bricks my new Ipod Touch.  My question is HOW?  And before you ask, YES everything has been updated to the latest version (itunes, Java, QuickTime, IE, Windows and other applications you can think of).  I purposely keep a copy of an older version of Itunes on an old laptop running because this is the only version that will recognize my Ipod when happen (both latest and Itunes).  Given zero has no effect.

When say you that the device is brick what is on the screen today? It does not force a reset? Try If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch does not illuminate, If iTunes does not your iPad, iPhone or iPod , or If you cannot update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

    See this note about QuickTime.

  • How to remove pieces of my Nano 6th generation?

I spent several hours of frustration tonight trying to solve the situation I am with my camera.

I want to delete songs from my iPod Nano 6th generation to make room for other songs in my library.  And, unfortunately, I have not read a single post, so far, that has helped to solve my problem.  If anyone can help after reading the information I provided below, I'll be most grateful.  Be specific if you provide specific to follow steps.

    Relevant information (see image below):

    • I have the latest version of iTunes installed on my laptop (12.4.3.1, 32-bit).
    • In preferences, I chose the option that prevents the automatic synchronization.
    • When I select the Nano connected in "Devices", no summary tab displays. I can't find this tab anywhere in the table of edge poster or under any section of the main toolbar on the top and left side of the page.
    • When I select 'Music' in the devices menu and select "Edit Playlist" in the center of the window of 'Music', I can't delete the control of all the listed songs.
    • In the right window which displays the songs on my Nano, I am unable to highlight and delete any song to this list.

    Thank you!

    Andi

There are several different issues here; rather than write a long response, I'll respond to a few key points that can be confusing...

When I select the Nano connected in "Devices", no summary tab displays.

In current iTunes, the screens of the iPod (including the abstract) settings are accessible by clicking on button iPod.  The screenshot below shows the left upper corner of the window of my iTunes, with the camera button circled in red.  (I see in your screenshot).

Click this button to display the settings for the abstract of the iPod.  The other configuration screens (for example, with regard to the timing of the music ) are accessible from the sidebar along the left side of the window (under the name and the tiny image of the iPod).  Thus, instead of the former "tabs" go anywhere at the top of the window, use this sidebar.

Is the iPod puts to manually manage music (check box) in the settings summary form?  If this is the case, you should be able to select the song (or songs) on the list of songs from iPod, then press the delete key to remove the iPod.  In the sidebar of the iPod as on my device, click on music, to see the current list of the songs on the iPod.  (You can also use the list of songs that you have demonstrated in your capture screen).

If this list is grayed out, the iPod is probably configured to use automatic synchronization (so you can't manually delete the songs).    In the sidebar of the iPod, under settings, click on music, to display the parameters of music from iPod.  If Sync music checked it, the iPod is currently set to use automatic synchronization.

Please post back with all of the remaining issues.
