It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

According to your system information here, you use Microsoft Internet Explorer to browse the web. If this is correct, you might want to try the Microsoft Internet Explorer Help pages.

If you use Firefox to browse the web, perhaps your problem is due to a disabled add-on, or an option that has been accidentally changed. For more help with Firefox, try:

I accidentally moved a folder containing multiple copies of favorite websites in my list of favorites on my home page. . is there a way to delete these entries in a group without deleting favorites that I already had.

    Thank you

You don't have to delete them manually without a third-party application, but this will make it easier. Go to C | Documents and Settings. Your user name. Favorites. Hold down the Ctrl key while you click the dupes to highlight and then delete. Make about 20 at a time because a little hiccup and highlighting will disappear and you will have to start.

  • Favorite Windows XP adds each site visited to the Favorites list

An old friend recently swithced to an old computer running XP on a new computer running Windows 7.  I did a wireless transfer from his old computer to their new computer for him and everything went well.  However, he was unable to understand the novelty of Windows 7 and wanted his old computer in return.

Fortunately, society, he bought the computer of agreeded to a return and refund, so I did Windows 7 wirless back transfer to XP for him and then washed the new hard disk before returning.  Everything seemed to work well and was happy to have his old computer running again.  A lot of people more older don "t like oil changes, seems.

However, after three months had he told me something was wrong with his Favorites window.  Looking at it, I found that whenever he went to a favorite site had made a new entry with a tracking number.

Example, Drudge Report of in its favourites and every time has opened the site as a new link to the site has been registered. While his Drudge Report (1). Drudge Report (2), etc. until Drudge Report (67) all under Favorites.  It has been duplicated on all the favorite websites that he opened while he had accumulated about 300 entries Favorites for only 12 places on the Favorites.

I have never seen that happen before and that you can't find a reference to it in the help screens or the Forums.  The only thing I've done so far has been remove each of the duplicates individaully, one at a time as THS takes forever, and then another entry is regenerated whenever he visits a new site, so that it will never end.

The only thing I can guess is that, perhaps, its function of Favorites has been altered somehow duromg two transfers between computers. Anyone who is familiar with this type of proplem and have any suggestions on how to fix it?  Thank you.

  • How to add a link to a Web page directly on my firefox home page

Safari has a function which, on their homepage, are small boxes that are links to Web sites, you go often to which is so useful. Can I do this with Firefox? I don't want to type in my goto sites every time, especially if I go to them every day.
    Thank you!!

Fred mentioned using the bookmarks toolbar. See this article on this subject.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/bookmarks-toolbar-display-favorite-websites

I don't use Safari in a good number of years, so I don't know what functions it has. The default Firefox Start Page / Home Page is incorporated into the code of Firefox and has no configurable element of the user where the user can add anything; However, it loads information from a secure server of Mozilla that changes from time to time.

But you can define what you want to be "your" home page that appears whenever you open Firefox relatively easily.

  • I want to add the sites common to the toolbar so I can open them with a single click I can do in Safari

For example, I want access to Google Translate, my e-mail personal, Blackboard, Bank of America, YouTube, etc... and I just click on the toolbar and I opened the page I want. I want to do this in Firefox, but I have not found the way to do it.
Please, look at my attachment to see what it looks like in my Safari browser.

Firefox has a folder in bookmarks called toolbar Bookmrks put bookmarks and they will appear in the bookmarks toolbar. Or if you add a folder or nested you get selections menu drop-down.

There are several methods of adding or moving of bookmarks. They'll drag and drop in the Bookmarks Manager. Or you can click on the star to bookmark and choose or change the location.

  • While trying to search w / Firefox (and Google), typing accesses only toolbar, tabs-F "File" =, E = "Edit."

This morning I was watching "Rachel Maddow" on the site Web of MSNBC and the video froze (a common problem with MSNBC). I closed this tab and tried to do something else (I think that access to a site of my toolbar 'Favorites'). That did not work either, so I closed my browser. When I have opened Firefox, I tried to do a Google search. When I typed "F", the "file" tab dialog box opened; When I typed 'E', open "Edit" (B = H = history, bookmarks, etc.). This happens if I try to type in the search box on the Google page or the search box in my toolbar. Any key that is not associated with a toolbar tab does nothing. I can access favorite websites, but if not, the browser is useless. I can't include s screenshot because clicking on my "Screen Grab" button closes the dialog box. All this seems very strange to me - people do you have any clues? Any help you offer is MOST appreciated-thank you! Mark (trymarx)

  • How can I put the bar that held my go-to site icons?

I am referring to the bar at the address of the site and Google box. In the past, I put a lot of icons on this bar, that I got from my Bank, utility bills, mail, facebook sites, etc.. It was a great convenience. The bar was a sign as well, to add other icons. A window will appear, which allowed to choose an icon and enter the address of the site. Many sites had their own icons, which appear automatically in the window. Now, I tried to follow the directions to add icons to the bar, but it seems that there is very little available and virtually none that I use. I hope that there is a way that can be used to add the capacity bar place very helpful icons, which were so easy to use. I'm sure that many people are also upset. It's a mystery how anyone could think that the new features would be better than the former, at least for the usefulness of this one bar. Thank you, in advance, for your help.

    1. Right-click on a zone empty of the tab bar and select Customize.
    2. Click Show / hide toolbars button near the bottom and make sure that 'Personal bar' is enabled.
    3. Make sure the "Bookmarks Toolbar Items" element is on the personal bar (the bar below the navigation bar, which is the part with the address bar and the search box).
    4. Click on the button customize exit down to the right when finished.
    5. When you want to bookmark the current page, simply drag the icon on the left side of the bar (usually a globe or a padlock) address on the bookmarks toolbar.
