Favorites of PowerBook Mac OS 10.4 lost on upgrade to Firefox 3.6
Just today, I received an automatic update to FireFox 3.6 on my Mac Powerbook G3 running Mac Os Tiger 4.12. Now my favorites have disappeared and some of my Doc icons for programs (iPhoto, iMovie, and iMovie HD have a question mark instead of their icon.) What the hell is happening? ! When I launch the new FireFox 3.6, I get the message that my story will not work because of some kind of conflict of file that is used by another program, most likely a safety program. I installed nothing again... How can I get my old FireFox (3.5) back? He is truly a messssss...
Note: tried to install 3.5, but same problem - without bookmarks. On what file reside the old bookmarks? I never have a backup of bookmarks, but some files keeps track of them each time that a launch of FireFox... Can I find the correct file and "crush" the current defective somehow >?
Thank you!

This may be a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Recently, I deleted my partition bootcamp about 65 GB space. However, after that I restarted my MAC, the 65GB is lost!
The total space in my HD is currently 434GB although it should be 500 GB! Anyone know how to recover my space 65GB?
See below for my disk utility:
Hello waynetay,
Thank you for being part of the community of Apple!
Looks like you want to recover the hard disk space that has been used by Bootcamp. I know how critical disk hard space is, as I understand it want to access it.
The Boot Camp Assistant should have added space on the side of Mac OS X from the hard drive when it has been used to remove Windows. Since that didn't happen, you need to back up the system, and then erase the hard drive, then restore the backup.
First, back up the computer. Your computer has software called Time Machine. It is a fantastic software for backing up your computer. Information on how to use Time Machine is available here:
Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac.
Once you have the backup, you must erase the drive and then restore the backup Time Machine.
You can use these measures to erase files on your startup drive and install a fresh copy of OS X:
- Before you begin, make sure that your Mac is connected to the Internet.
- Restart your Mac. Immediately hold down the command (⌘) keys and R after having heard the startup sound to boot into OS X Recovery.
- When the recovery window, select disk utility, then click on continue.
- Select the volume name back from your startup disk in the left side of the disk utility window, then click Delete.
- If you want to erase the disc safely, click Security Options. Select an erasing method, and then click OK.
- On the Format menu, choose Mac OS extended (journaled). Type a name for your drive, and then click clear.
- After that the drive is deleted, close the disk utility window.
- If you are not connected to the Internet, select a network in the Wi-Fi menu.
- Select the option to reinstall OS X.
- Click on continue and follow the instructions on the screen to reinstall OS X.
Once OS X installation is complete, you should have the option to restore from a backup Time Machine in the first installation of OS X. Choose this option, and the computer will restore everything that was on it before it has been removed. More information can be found here:

Since the upgrade to Firefox 4: 1), I lost my favorites. (((2) if I go into my profile, there is no backups since 21 March (when I upgraded) and if I try to restore my favorites from backups in my profile, nothing happens (although if I look the .json file in textedit, they are clearly there) 3) when I start typing an address, Firefox gives me is more a suggestion of my story 4) (and possibly without) if I browse a site , via a link, I often can't navigate back (the grey towers left arrow). In other words, Firefox loses the story.
This may be due to a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Lost bookmarks and tabs after upgrading to Firefox 12
Against my better judgment, I've upgraded to Firefox 12. Immediately, all the bookmarks have disappeared. Whenever I started Firefox, I got a 'new tab' with nothing else. No favorites. No memory of the previous tabs. I did a restore and thought I had fixed it since everything is back, however once I closed Firefox and it started again is towards the Virgin Firefox with nothing and 'new tab '. I was already on Firefox 10 and with great reluctance ever to level, but I've updated another computer to version 12 without problem so I said ' this the heck, worked once should work again. " Evil. Unfortunately, this is my main computer. Help, please.
One possible cause is a problem with the places.sqlite file that stores the bookmarks and history.

Yesterday, I've upgraded to Firefox 10.0.2 and worked fine... When I turned on my Mac Book Pro today he says I would like to import from Safari? Huh? No.... When it opened I had nothing! It's like a pure installation of firefox.
I searched and everything what I found said I had to get the "Application Support" folder but there is no record of Mozilla Firefox o in there. Im running Mac OS X 10.7.3. Please if anyone knows how I can get back all my data!
see if that helps
copied from:profile folder
Profile folders are in one of the following locations:
~/Library/Mozilla/Firefox/profiles/ < profile folder >
~/Library/application support/Firefox/Profiles / < profile folder >
The character tilde (~) makes reference to the folder of the current user, so ~/Library is the /Macintosh HD/users / < username > / library folder.
Thank you

Customization is lost when I restart Firefox
Recently, my computer blue-screened and directed a memory dump. Since then, all my customization options seem to have been lost - for example:
- Firefox not working when I open a new window
- All my expansion options (each extension home page opens and asks me to agree to ways to addon
- My character returns to the default value
- My menu bar customizations are lost.
Whenever I get close and re-open Firefox, the same thing happens again. All personalization data seems to be temporary.
Check your profile directory that you do not have the additional files for these files as prefs.js as with (1) (2) (3) included in the name of the file if a file cannot be rewritten because it is write protected. To open your profile directory using about: support type in your location bar and click 'open containing folder '.

Download Firefox 4 for my Mac OS10.5.8 and now cannot open Firefox.
Download Firefox 4 for my Mac OS10.5.8 and now cannot open Firefox. The processor is 1.25 GHz Power PC G4 and 768 MB of DDR SDRAM memory. Is it possible to revert to a previous version that worked fine on my Mac?
Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac. There is a third part of Firefox 4 version that works under OS X 10.4/10.5 and PPC Macs, for details, see http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox
If you prefer, you can get the latest version of Firefox 3.6 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
