FF removes the list of exceptions of the cookie whenever the browser closes.

For about a month, I had intermittent problems with FF dumping the cookie exceptions list whenever the browser closes. Initially, I had a very long list of exceptions and noticed a few weeks he was now totally blank.

After I discovered the problem, I checked to make sure that I don't have a "site preferences" checked in the options to clear the history of FF when closing. I also tried to delete the file prefs.js, thinking that he might have become corrupted.

I thought that the problem has resolved itself - although I could never get my initial list of exceptions, but since a week or more, exceptions have not changed when I closed. However, after having FF set to day yesterday to 23.0.1, the list of exceptions authorized himself again. Now, whenever I close the browser, export the list again.

Any suggestions? I have a long list of sites I would rather not use cookies and and I'm quite frustrated to have to re-create again and again.

You are welcome.

  • When you try to create the new thread in a discussion forum, the browser closes and I'm back in the office.

    I tried to create a new thread in a Discussion forum.  Closing the browser window and I was back on the desktop.  I did a system restore, which not only does not solve the problem, but deleted my internet security software.  Has worked with people of tendency to reinstall the software, but I get a message tht says: «Unable to extract the installer...» ».  I have a class of the internet this week and I need this computer.  Can someone please?

    You can undo the last restoration of the system using: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/76256-system-restore-undo.html.  This may fix your problem with security software that has uninstalled when you did the system restore (using a date that probably existed before the installation of trend).  I don't know if it works now that you have done other things to try to reinstate the program, but it's worth a try.  I sincerely doubt that this process could help with the problem of browser (and there not so undo it reverses your efforts).

    You use Internet Explorer?  If so, please repost your question in Forum Internet Explorer: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/InternetExplorer/threads where the IE specialists will be more than happy to help you with your problem.

    If you are using another brand of browser, please repost your question in the Forum program: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/threads where experts in programs other than Vista or IE will be more than happy to help you with your problem.  You can also try to go to the web site of the Explorer and contacting their technical support staff (or post on a forum if they support a).

    Only trend can help you with installation problems you encounter through their program.  Perhaps it didn't uninstall completely during the restoration of the system.  Check if the trend has a removal tool and use it to uninstall the program, then try to re - install again.  If this does not work, you will need to work with their technical support to solve the problem.

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I stop my list of exceptions of the cookie to be changed programmatically?

    I never accept cookies from Firefox, and I have a list of exceptions specifically allowing cookies from sites of my choice. Problem is this exception list is somehow expanded with sites that I didn't understand, and in some cases, the sites that I've blocked more precisely. For example, I explicitly blocked cookies from Google. Yet, when I check the list, I find the rule I entered the blocking of Google and a new rule that I go by specifying that Google may drop of only first party cookies.

    Question: Which (apart from me, the user) is allowed to expand the list of exceptions and why? Seems to me that what makes the promise of the list almost worthless.

    I am running Firefox 33.1.1.

    Difficulty of pop-ups in browser that support Safari.

    Common pop - ups include a message saying that the Government has taken over your computer and you pay release (often called "Moneypak"), or a false message saying that your computer has been infected and you need to call a number of tech support (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it to be resolved. First of all, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and that your computer has not been assigned. This "hack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so don't pay not money, call number, or provide personal information. This article will give an overview of the solution to remove the pop-up window.

    Quit Safari

    Usually, these pop-ups will not go by clicking 'OK' or 'Cancel '. In addition, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in grey, including the option to leave Safari. You'll probably force quit Safari. To do this, press command + option + ESC, select Safari, press on force quit.

    Relaunch Safari

    If you restart Safari, the page will reopen. To avoid this, hold the "Shift" key when opening Safari. This will prevent windows since the last time that Safari was running since the reopening.

    It will not work in all cases. The SHIFT key must be maintained at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window is displayed again. In these circumstances, after force quit Safari, turn off Wi - Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then restart Safari normally. He'll try to reload the malicious Web page, but without a connection, it will not be able to. Leave this page by entering a different URL, i.e. www.apple.com and try to load it. Now you can reconnect to the Internet and the page that you entered is displayed rather than the malicious.

    How to safely use MacUpdate to download malicious software free software:

    This site has both free and paid members accounts. If you don't have then some software will be distributed in a wrapper for an installation that includes adware/malware, you can not. Such a download may appear on your computer as follows: Firefox installer.dmg. Remove the download and return to the main site where you will find a direct link to the Web site. Use this link to download the software.

    To avoid these downloads to MU simply create a free membership account. Sign in to your account before using the site. You can avoid the wrappers of the installer and download of adware or malware. I continue to use their site without any problems.

    If you prefer not to create a membership account and note that on the download page under the price area will be the link to the developer site. Use this link and download the software directly from the developer work around the use of MU altogether.

  • What can I do to restore the function of the button close browser?

    After using firefox for a number of weeks without problem, today the browser close button does not work! (white cross on red background) The only way to close the browser is by using the Task Manager end task. It is a simple problem but what can I do about it? I tried to update but do not reinstall. I have no further details that I fear, the button does not. I don't think it's a problem with my computer cos for example 'word' closed as expected. Even the Internet Ezplorer. More than that, I have no clue why this is happening.

    Is to close the window button, do not close the browser, and with Firefox, it makes a difference because of the subtasks.

    The following can completely eliminate having to terminate Firefox via the Windows Task Manager, but it will come very close.

    Plug-in and open by Firefox tasks can continue after trying

    close Firefox closes the 'X' in the upper right of the

    Window (same as Ctrl + Shift + W), but even if it's the last window of Firefox,
    It does not necessarily close Firefox.

    The only good way to leave Firefox is to use the output by the
    File menu, not the 'X' in the top right of the last window of Firefox.
    In version 4.0 and upwards with the button "Firefox" which would be Alt + F then X

    Use the Windows Task Manager to remove all the firefox.exe running in the 'process' of the Windows Task Manager tab, then restart Firefox.

    very rare- If Firefox still does not start, remove the file parent.lock profile that is created each time you start Firefox to prevent the execution of the other tasks of Firefox, see

    http://KB.mozillazine.org/Profile_in_use#Remove_the_profile_lock_file

    Avoid problems with closing/restart Choose an extension

    Allows to close and restart Firefox after enabling or disabling an extension, switch to a new theme, or modifying configuration files, then you don't have to worry any delay or have to look in the Task Manager to see if Firefox is closed.

  • How to close all the browser without blemish?

    Hello

    When my script fails, I want to close all open browser windows (in one (try /) catch).

    I tried:-browser.close(): it really does work. Maybe I'm not using correctly.

    I also tried a

    While (web.exists ("[web: window[@index='0']"))
    {web.window (web:window[@index='0']").close() ;} I use a loop because it depends, sometimes, more than 1 window opens

    This second solution seems to work better.

    But there are still cases where a window will remain open.

    Is there another way and the best way to close all browser windows? Perhaps with the browser.close () method?

    Thank you

    Michael

    Hello

    It seems that you are doing the right thing, if there is a browser open is because OpenScript is unclear on this issue. You can try using the following code

    Duration rt = Runtime.getRuntime ();
    String [] callAndArgs = {"taskkill", "/ F", "/ IM ', 'iexplore.exe'};

    try {}

    Process child = rt.exec (callAndArgs);
    child.waitFor ();
    getLogger () .info ("exit code is:" + child.exitValue ());

    } catch (Exception e) {}
    getLogger () .error ("ERROR:" + e.getMessage ());
    }

    Who will use the windows taskkill command to kill IE.

    I hope this helps.
