  Update!

  Eventually the monitor never returned.  So it was out of service until I fixed it.

  Several hours in my resolution of problems, I discovered the problem.   The "monitor Extra I was using was nonfuctional out of the box" once I realized that I concentrated on the screen itself.  With a little research in my monitor (formerly broken), I discovered that there are problems with capacitor.

  Of course once I opened the monitor, two of the capacitors had jumps/bulging upward.  So they had blown... It was a slow burn.  So, as I used it, the capacitor lost ability to work...  So I replaced two capacitors with a bit of sodering. Turn the monitor together and TADA!  Monitor is fully functional.

  In case you're wondering the monitor that I use is a Samsung (apparently a lot of capacitor problems in its monitors) model 906BW.

  Also, I guess I should of mentioned that this is not a laptop. Its a desktop computer.

  Confirmed FIX: Replacing two capacitors bulged/jumps inside the monitor.

  Since upgrading to Mac OS Sierra last night on my MacBook Air (2013, i7, 8gbRAM), fans work almost always, even when I use Safari.  Previously, the fans would go only when I was playing a game, or video edition.  The basis of my Macbook Air is also much more hot he was under El Capitan - once again, just when you use Safari.  As a result, my battery life is horrible - dropped from 100% to 23% in a little over an hour.  Once again, under El Capitan, if I was just using internet, use of an hour would see the maximum of 10 to 15% of decline in battery.

  I turned off my Macbook Air and it turned on again after fifteen minutes, but in 10-15 minutes, fans revived upward and the base (and the top of the keyboard) heated again.  No uncomfortable levels, but certainly noticeable levels.

  Just to remind - I use Safari only when this happens.  Moreover, since the beginning of this question five minutes ago, the % of battery has dropped from 29 percent to 22 percent and the fans are still whirring like the dickens.

  No idea why this is happening?

• My internet keeps disconnecting but easily reconnects when I go in the diagnoses

  For the past few weeks, I had a problem with my internet on my macbook pro (retina, 13 inches, end of 2013 and it runs El Capitan 10.11.5).) My internet is Time Warner Cable and my router is a motorola, arris (I don't have an airport)

  Basically, my internet spontaneously does not work anymore (but is not completely disconnect from the network). I have to go to network preferences and then run diagnostics to reconnect, but still, it reconnects immediately after I run diagnostic tests and press 'always allow' keychain. Everything in the list network state is usually green except for the Internet and the server, who say failed and are red in color. ISP or settings network is sometimes as red.

  It really happens randomly - sometimes all ten or fifteen minutes and sometimes every two hours.

  I never have this issue when I use internet in my school and it happens at home, however, I don't think it's a problem with my internet service provider because my computer is the only device in my apartment which has faced this problem (my roommate also has a macbook pro and we all two iphones)

  I rebooted my computer, reset the router a few times, talked to apple support, and nothing has helped.

  I have a wireless diagnostic report when it happened last week I saved and can send if it would help (but I do not know how to reach it...)

• Time Capsule is slow reading files on mac but fast on PC

  At the office, we have a Time Capsule to share and store files. Each pc is connected to the player via wifi and have no problem with folder slow loading time. The mac I use is high enough spec and works on yosemite 10.10.5 and struggles loading files, it varies from 10 seconds to a minute round to view the contents of the folder. We also have an old mac running osx 10.4.11 and content is immediately, same as they do on a pc. Must be one of finder or a setting somewhere that someone could point me in the direction of it please?

  It comes down to implementing new versions of SMB on later versions of Mac OS X, starting with the Mavericks.

  If you do an Internet search on this you will come with dozens of articles and still more 'solutions '. Earlier versions of Mac OS X used either AFP or SMB according to what the other device supported. Since OS X 10.10, Apple introduced SMB3 with mixed results.

• I want the current configuration of Firefox and watch returned to build 28.0 as default

  I am currently using Firefox 32.0.3 now on my Windows XP machine and I hate the look, and it is difficult to navigate in the customization of the thing. It took fifteen minutes to configure even approaching resembling what I used to have. Even with the classic theme restaurateur, it's horrible. Firefox will be able to restore the appearance of 28.0? I would appreciate it if the next update returned to the classic settings and the default appearance. • Protocol to 'thin out' big project?

  Major project.  Many sequences of 4K.  The project became too big to work with quickly.  It must be ten, fifteen minutes just to load.  Many spinning beach ball that I work.

  I'm trying to figure out how to move this 'finished film' chronology in a new library ... without the scores of old files/projects/etc that I need is no longer.

  If I had to make a duplicate of the library during class and delete everything except the master ' / the project schedule "(and several smaller natures-in-game project related files - like sound FX files)... This would be the way to go?

  I think I remember to do something like this to help consolidate.  But don't remember exactly HOW I did it.  And can't seem to find this question answered in my collection of FCPX tutorials.

  Any help would be appreciated more...

• error code - 36

  When I try to drag a file (photo or video) on my external hard drive USB G-DRIVE. It starts the import stops with a message saying that it is impossible because of the error code - 36. the strangest thing is that it will work at random times. I tried to drag this video it like 6 times it wouldn't let me. Fifteen minutes later he did. But at somethings do not change the message. I watched many old questions as we similar to this and their responses did not help... suggestions?

• How can I copy my camera Sony AVCHD files without having to use Quicktime?

  On my old iMac would be to hook up my Sony Hancam with a USB cable.  I would copy and paste from the camcorder to a file on my computer.  To view these files I would display them through VLC player.  If I used Quicktime I have no sound and video.  After you import, I would then convert the files using Wondershare and would then import into iMovie.

  Now that I've upgraded to a new iMac I can't do that.  Open QuickTime and finally, fifteen minutes later, a Quicktime window opens and displays each of the video files on my video camera but I can't work on where to go was from there.   There is no import option and I don't want to just click on OK as I don't know what he will do.  I have a few 30 GB of video on this camcorder.

  So, I don't want Quicktime for the default program for download via.  How to stop what is happening?

  In addition, how to import these files from my camcorder?

  If that AVCHD you can probably import directly into iMovie, no need for converters either.

  I've never seen Quicktime Player automatically opens the way you describe. Are you SURE it's Quicktime, no Photos or Image Capture?

  Is it different if you take the card from the camera and insert the card into your mac directly?

• Satellite L300-1DI screen keeps freezing

  This isn't the first problem iv met before with this laptop and in each case, I had to restore to factory, removing everything. The problem I have now is that the screen of the laptop freezes after about ten-fifteen minutes from start-up. If im watching a video, the sound will still play, but not the image.
  Anyone know what the underlying problem and if there is a way to overcome this problem?

  It is not easy to say why this is happening. Maybe you should explain the problem with more details.
  What kind of videos you're watching (DVD, avi, mpg movies)?
  Which player do you use?
  This happens on the same format of video?

  Have you tested on different actors?
  What did you do to find out why this happens?

• My Satellite A500 is extremely slow

  Hi guys,.

  First of all my apologies if I'm not in the right sub-forum here.

  For about two weeks, my laptop (Satellite A500) is e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y s-l-o-w. Very often (not always) I get an error message after commissioning (which takes about 15 minutes) on a "JIT debugger" and click ok if you want to cancel the request or Cancel if I want to debug.

  What does all this mean? Where did it come from?

  More information:
  (-) I have not installed any new programs or anything for at least 6 months now.
  (-) Recently, it takes about 15 minutes for the laptop at the start and another 15 minutes to log on to the net (via a usb wireless modem)
  (-) I have one run a virus check (just in case ;)) and nothing was found.)
  (-) I did a "gentle formula" that I found preinstalled on the computer. Apparently, this type of format gets rid of all your mistakes without having to reinstall all your programs. This 'soft' formula has not improved the performance.
  (-) I brought up in the Task Manager to see which application causes the problem of JIT-debugger, but Task Manager area is empty. Nothing of what is running in there.

  Could someone plllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaas sssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeee informed me what could happen and how I could possibly fix this problem? Your knowledge and your help would be greatly appreciated!

  Regarding the PROBLEM REAL being separated for a hardware issue...

  Mine did the same (ran only run stutteringly slow s...l...w.freezes trouble... a lot of time and frustration (battery in and out) caused 3 hard disks lost (shaken baby syndrome).) Lost thousands of precious family memories and important documents.

  So... instead...

  (1) download MALWAREBYTES free version (from a trusted as Cnet site or web page of MW).

  (2) install and run.

  (3) allow to find Trojan horses that slow down your laptop (mine was 300 [and I have Norton 360 installed 2013]). Automatic adjustment.

  (4) re - start normally. Try Windows again. May or may not still be issues. Qoy TO BE SURE a certain...

  (5) start in Safe Mode (pull on the plug and the battery if you are unsure how to do this).

  (6) run Malwarebytes. Get rid of all the Trojans.

  (7) re-boot... It MAY take five or six minutes to start.

  (8) If you have Norton Antivirus or McAfee run it to check that it is nothing... you CAN get a message saying there is a conflict between her and MALWAREBYTES... He told me to uninstall Malwarebytes. So, I did. BUUUUUUUUUUT, on restart computer has had a black screen... (I couldn't even at BIOS)...

  FOR FIFTEEN MINUTES, HE PLAYED DEATH. ]

  Normally I would give 'going bonkers' a little... but I expected as well... and waited and waited... and waited...

  (9) repeat PC programs. It should be much better.

  (10) re-boot... IT CAN TAKE FIVE MINUTES... don't worry... next time it should be good if you had the same questions that this laptop had too many times.

  P. S.
  ALWAYS check if you download Flash ADOBE or a MS C++ Update update, or an update module of any site, make sure that you click Yes to anything... BUT instead, GO to the REAL SITE for these programs.
  NOTE:
  Some questionable sites, to PRETEND TO DO AN updated VERSION OF YOUR plug-in, such as ADOBE FLASH or Adobe Reader or something else... but they have a PREFIX of the name of download with ADOBE in there (or [common] update no matter what he tells you everything)... and then you secretly have a Trojan horse that will unpack a few weeks later and multiplies... and does what it is designed to do.

• Satellite L40 - recovery disk will not be BOOD CD/DVD player

  Hi guys!

  I try to use reinstall on my friends laptop drive... but it bait any of the CD/DVD drive... I tried for two days... Checking the BIOS settings
  1 CD/DVD drive
  2. hard drive
  3.network.

  have pressed the F12 key at the beginning to up as suggests the recovery disc instructions... which brings the startup screen asking where to boot from... I select the CD/DVD drive, the drive makes some noises and then after a minute round and a half... the Vista screen appears as usual. I also tried power on and pressing C, but the same thing happens, don't constantly loading Vista log on screen.

  I've seen it's a common problem, while that research on the net but I have not seen a viable suggestion to fix.

  While attending some user set in Vista I m positive that I saw a boot option that could be changed here and I m this hard drive has been selected... I had this dream?

  I m exhausted guys... .any suggestions pleaaaase x

  The hard drive on my iMac 21.5 mid 2010 "(EMS 2389) failed (SMART error)." He became very disabled, very quickly. Time machine would not work. I consider myself lucky to have saved my most important files manually.

  I successfully removed the old HD and replaced it with a new Seagate 1 TB hybrid. I'm pretty impressed with myself, given my total lack of experience; but now I'm running into trouble.

  When that I start my computer, it goes directly into the recovery of the internet (spin the globe, "it can take a long time"). The spinning globe countdown for fifteen minutes and then goes to a gray screen with the Apple logo. I lost my patience the first time and restarted the process, after about five hours.  I have restarted the process, the world of spinning for 15 min and are now waiting on the screen of the Apple logo for 15 hours. I don't know if it is doing anything at all here?

  Note that I never get information; No Apple ID, no internet wi - fi, nothing. I held cmnd-R two attempts on initialize to top, thinking I could get recovery disk. I think I was wrong about that, because the drive is new and not formatted.

  I don't really know what to do at this point. I couldn't find a good answer to my situation online. Can anyone help? Thank you!

  Well, recovery of the Internet does not seem to work. I was able to start my original install dvd supplied with the computer. I probably should have done this first.  I created a partition and install OS X. But I have a few questions.

  Restart the computer after successful installation. I then get a strong funky welcome intro and she goes into the installer. I enter the wi - fi, Apple ID, ect.  I get to the final screen "create your account" and it freezes.  This happened several times, if I deleted the partionition and started the installation again.

  I'm currently waiting on creating your account again screen. Not sure if it is frozen or if it takes just time? My cursor is not a spinning wheel of color as before.

  I thought installing a new hard drive would be the hardest part. This is getting frustrating. Someone at - it advice?

• Satellite L300-29W - Freezed and crash

  I received this laptop as a gift for Christmas, so the thing is less than three months. It works fine and dandy until yesterday. I went down for a few hours and my laptop is put to sleep after two but when I came it was completely frozen. Ctrl alt delete didn't work so I had to shut it down by holding the main button. I turned on it and everything seemed to work ok until I started watching a video online. I had not touched a fifteen minutes and the browser crashed, followed by the computer, with ctrl alt del does not. I turned off completely and left overnight.

  I come back on it today and a friend recommended I get the battery to see if it was a problem with that. After he touches don't for about fifteen minutes crashing again (so apparently my battery is fine). I have the free version of Avast anti virus and it began there say he had caught a virus, I scanned my computer and deleted with avast and re-analyzed two days. The re-scan said that the computer was clean, so I don't know if the virus is still in hiding there or something. It is not overheating (was a quite normal temperature the last time it happened) and I have no idea what to do next.

  I don't really know anything about computers spent turn on the guys, so that any help would be appreciated but its going to have to be in English or I are completely lost :) Thank you

  Back to your problem:
  I had similar problem after waking from sleep mode and wasn't able to find out what was wrong there. The configuration of your laptop is not known to me and I do not know what applications you use on your laptop, but it can happen that General information during the implementation/application process to problems when your laptop goes into sleep mode. On my laptop, I had always error message appears each time after sleep mode.

  It will be interesting to know if the same problem occurs when standby mode extended (FN + F4).
  Can you please test and validate the result?
