  This is a video file.  A .avi file.   When you look under explore, there is nothing about it.   When you look physically the disc, you can see he did burn something.

  FWIW, do not change the extensions of file simply by copying the files to an external drive.

• installed the latest updates of windows 7... now the computer does not recognize my video files avi... says "format not supported".

  I have installed the latest updates (02/27/10) and when I open sony vegas to edit some files avi... they were offline... when I tried to read with windows media player it says format not supported... before when I played these files, they would not have to synchronize audio... it never happened with my other computer with Vista... system restore solved the problem of format not supported... but so far has caused this problem? and what about the problems of synchronization? the files seem to sync when played with the hp program...

  Because you performed a System Restore you would not be able to determine which update problem from occurring. You will have to wait for the update to your computer to determine the update that caused the problem. The update does not necessarily cause the problem to occur again. However, you can view the history of updates to updating history.
   
  1. open the control panel (all items view), and click the Windows Update icon.
   
  2. click on the link to view update history.
   
  3. to view the details of a single Windows Update-
   
  (A) select and right-click on a Windows Update list, and then click details.
   
  (B) click on close when finished.
   
  As far as the question of timing is concerened, you can scan SFC on your computer and check if the problem persists.
  
  Steps to perform a scan SFC:
   
  1. Click Start, click principally made programs, accessories, right-click Guest, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on allow
   
  2. type the following command and press ENTER:
  sfc/scannow
  [The command sfc /scannow. analysis of all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions.]
   
  A message appears indicating that "the system scan will start. Be patient, because the analysis may take some time
   
  3. If all the files require that a SFC replace will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Win7 DVD for this process to continue
   
  4. If all goes although you should, after the analysis, see the following message "Windows resource protection not found any breach of integrity.
   
  5. once the scan is finished, close the command prompt window, restart the computer and check.

• DEP errors

  I am a user of writing.com, where I post short stories for consideration.  I noticed yesterday that some links may not work.  Links to writingML tools seem to be most affected.  I have a notification bubble who told me that there is an error in the DEP.

  Everything worked fine since last weekend and then I downloaded Java (TM) 6 update 15 and toolbar MSN and uninstalled the driver Detectivemc.  In addition, there was some windows updates.

  I tried to restore the system to the State at the end of last week and he refuses.  I tried different dates, rebooted and tried again.  It cud just the problem for a few stops, starts think more and then says sorry but there is an unspecified error, so nothing has been changed.

  SIGH

  Something is really messed up, I don't seem to be the only control this, lol.

  Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

  The DEP closing IE errors are usually cause by an incompatible add-on.  You can check this by running IE without Add-ons.  Click Start, all programs, accessories, System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer without modules.

  If you get is more DEP errors then you will know that an add-on or toolbar is the problem.  Close IE without Add-ons and reopen IE normally.  Click Tools, Options Internet, then on Manage Add-ons and disable all the modules and toolbars, then re-enable your add-ons and toolbars 1 at a time until you spotted the add-it/toolbar is causing your problem.  Then, you can just leave the problem add/bar of tools disabled.
   
  You can do this by clicking Start, then right-click on Internet Explorer to enter the upper part of the menu and click 'browse without add-on.

  You can also click
  Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).

  You can also try a clean boot to ensure that software that starts at the start of Vista is not crash.

  I have Windows Live Messenger 2009 (Build 14.0.8089.726)

  No matter if I'm registered or not, I'm repeatedly getting DEP error messages telling me that Messenger has received a DEP closes and then I get the dialog box that he is looking for a solution I ever found.

  My question is, how can I know what is causing DEP errors occur?

  Is a message comes through my firewall that I can block?  Is - this another problem (I have AVG Virus Scan running)?

  Is there a log or something that will give me more information?

  This happened on 02/10/15 and happened again on 24/02/16. We have two printers that depend on this file. HP Color LaserJet 553 and HP LaserJet M604. I have over a hundred of the M604 on my network and the last time that this happened, it dominoed across the print server system.  This has also caused some spools of printing stop on end users. The only way I can get end users up is to uninstall the driver package.

  This issue affects the Windows Server 2008 and windows computers 7 as well.  Try to determine why this has happened twice and determine how fixit before the rest of my Server 2008 and end down as well.

  The error lies in the hpb6sy2917_x64gui.dll.

  

  This time I had to remove the printers and drivers with a regedit. I also deleted all files in all files for 2917 in the

  C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder. But this time, when I reinstall the M604 M553 drivers and it lowers again print server spooler. I'm frustrated to say the least.

  I can't create a new folder under libraries/photos. I have several folders and subfolders, but lately when I try to create a new folder directly in 'photos', I get a "file system 512 error." I can still create new folders in the existing folders, but not directly in the library/images directory. I am confused because I have done this several times before.

  I downloaded and ran an expensive registry fix program and have the latest Windows. Neither helped.

  All ideas are most appreciated. Thank you!

  You're right, I was assuming that the my images from your user account folders was in this library.

  OK, let's try again.

  Go to the images of C:\Users\Public\Public folder. Create a new folder in the folder public photo.

  Now go back to the photo library and see if this new folder appears here.
