• TextEdit files corrupt

  New Mac Pro cylinder, Yosemite. When I open edit text and start typing, very often what I get on screen is a string of dollar signs. If I open an existing file, which may include the formatting - font sizes, colors, pasted in pictures - he often opens as single row after row of dollar signs. Or older paragraphs may be dollar signs, most recent may appear as in the format. Or vice versa. If I command-shift-T to remove the formatting, plain text is all there without foreign characters.

  I have an important file corrupt and I tried every way I can think to open, but to no avail...

  When I open it with Quicktime, a ' 2048 unsupported format ' error, even if the other videos I made are very good.
  I can't open this video with software like VLC and friends (believe me, I tried LOADS of them)...

  After doing a LOT of research I understand that neither the part header and closing of the file is messed up.
  Is anyone able to teach me how to fix these pieces?
  I am really at my wits end and I am a beginner just to hex-editing @. @ better still, if you are able to take a look at this video for me...

  I'll be very happy if someone can help me on what I really want to get the video, it's for an important friend, thanks in advance!

  It may be possible to convert its defective file in another format and ten you can try to open it again using VLC player or other application.

  If it is possible, then you can try to use the System Restore tool under Programs Accessories System Tools, you should find.

  Experienced same problem with Amazon MP3 downloads.  Could not bring to import into Movie Maker.  Read somewhere to convert WMA of the song, but couldn't find out how to do this.  I wanted to download 3rd party software.  Had already created the CD with the songs that I wanted to use mm.   Ripped from this CD for PC with Windows Media Player, which gives you option to change the format.  Changed the format to WMA format and then imported into Movie Maker.  After all, hope this time it helps you, too.

  Click Start-> run, type &-> chkdsk c: / f-> ok. You will be asked to schedule the scan of the disc, restart your pc.

  If above used to work, start your pc in safe mode and try.

  I FOUND the solution, thanks to Suzukibiker, Chaddington Boomhauer on SecondLife and Pyrografix on Microsoft TechNet.  Long story short, I activated the REAL administrator of my machine through http://www.autoshutdown.org/how-to-enable-administrator-in-vista.html and was able to take in hand the folder and files.  I then renamed the something VERY vulgar folder, only the iTunes Installer ignored later, allowing me to finally completely reinstall iTunes.

  Many files that SFC cannot resolve are not important.

  Start - type in the search box-> find CMD in top - click right on - RUN AS ADMIN

  put the command from below (copy and paste) in this box and her and then press ENTER.

  who creates the sfcdetails.txt file in the folder that you are in when you run it.

  So if you're in C:\Windows\System32 > then you will need to look in that folder for the file.

  I'm running a 64 bit vista Home premium computer laptop sony vaio. and suddenly, I can't print to my network printer. We recently had a nasty virus AV on the desktop (to which the printer is connected) but malwarebytes got rid of it for me. now my two computers laptops cant print via our wireless connection. (they could before the virus) I ran a few free diagnostic software (on my computer vista laptop) who told me I had a couple of registry keys corrupt / & a file corrupted. more precisely

  My question is, I can delete these registry without causing any damage? normally I don't mess with registry files but I tried everything I can think of.

  1. check all cable connections for the desktop, rebooted printer and all machines, including printers, restarted router (cisco)

  2 restart the spooler (all machines) service

  3. restarted the spooler RPC service depends on (all machines)

  4. uninstalled the printer software and reinstalled (vista machine)

  5. download & install usb & wifi & network updates to Adapter Sony (the manufacturer of my vista machine)

  6 made phone calls to both norton & hp (I thought that norton could help since they are the ones who let the virus, called hp since it is their two companies told to call another printer.)

  7 microsoft has sent (last don't use - no response yet)

  any ideas?

  Charles here, I have a new fx mainboard MSI 760 gm - e51 and installed an updated release of windows 7. I have McAfee total Protection antivirus product. Already have a file corrupted in the trash. Not happy with Mcafee. Any suggestions on a good anti-virus product? Also corrupted file attached to the application of google chrome. I tried to uninstall/features of the program but could not find the path of the windows folder. Google app is detained in \User\AppData\Local\Temp\65B3A9~1\ that is not in my temp folder. There is no Recorder program called iso (pushisher alex freiman) that I don't recognize cannot remove or delete.  Any suggestions to remove the wire corrupted in r/bin. I had to re - install windows again, but when I hit install it says 'Save Temp files' is the last thing I want. Is this normal. Save and delete the temporary files? McAfee says not an infection and was unable to help him.

  Open a command prompt run as admin

  

  In the command prompt type this

  RD /s /q D:\$Recycle.bin

  (Where D: is the drive letter of corrupt... yours may be different)
  If it is c type this rd /s /q C:\$Recycle.bin)

  I suggest that you wake the computer with a standalone computer (that is, not a chain of stores) repair facility.  It would be better if you could get repair shop recommendations of your friends or acquaintances who have some experience with the computer.
