File new folder option missing
I spent the last 3 hours with all kinds of prostheses of people trying to figure out how to get the new folder option in Windows 7. The ability to add a new file folder is no longer available. He has simply disappeared.

New folder option missing in vista when right click on
I have vista 32 bit and just replaced my hard drive and reinstalled my OS.
I was not able to create new folders. When I right click on the box, and then click New, "desktop folder" is not there. When I'm in windows Explorer and click on "organize", "new folder" is there, but when I click it, nothing happens.
I ran sfc/scannow, and he said that he managed to repair some files. I then rebooted and the problem is still there.
I also checked the registry to verify that the desktop of windows update component has been installed and matched: {D969A300-E7FF-11d0-A93B-00A0C90F2719}
I also have the administrator rights.
Don't know what else to try.
I saw another thread on this recommendation to copy and paste a few lines of registry, but this thread was several years old and don't know if I should try again. In addition, he was vague. He said "copy and paste the following lines and save the file with the .reg extension. Double-click to add the information to your registry.
Where can I stick him?

"new folder" option grayed out
I was organizing my files photo in year folders and subfolders of months on an external portable 1.5 TB harddrive. I've only used less than 1%, so I have a lot of memory still available. Suddenly my "new folder" option is grayed out. How can I get this working again? (The file is available, but I don't want this kind of file.)
You format your drive Seagate for a Mac? It is delivered formatted for Windows and if you are wrong in the installation of the software on the drive, it will be read/write until the software stops, then you will be able to read the disc.
Select the drive, then the get info (cmd - i). See if it says that the format is NTFS. If this is the case, it is formatted for Windows and OS X can only read the drive natively. You can install a third-party software to read and write, but it is apparently not well maintained and seems to fail to update to OS X.
If this is the case, I would say you move the files to another drive and then format the drive as Mac OS extended (journaled), then move the files back.

Files scanned and stored in the new folder are missing
Original title: documents scanned folder new folder but they aren't in the document files folder, where they are and how access to send them as an attatchment in an ema
The documents I scanned my printer prompted me to save in the new folder, I saved but now cannot find them. The documents file says it is empty. I have no idea where they run and it took me 2 hours to scan so that I can attatch to an e-mail, someone has a suggestion as to where I could get back in?
Hello
Please go through http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/products/features/windows-search to search for a file/folder in Windows 7.
If you know the file names of scanned documents, then it would be easier to find using the search box.
You can also check if the files/folders are hidden or deleted accidentally and are in the trash.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-in/Windows7/show-hidden-files
If you are not able to find the files, then you will need to scan the files once more and take note of the new destination folder where the files will be stored after scanning.
Hope this information helps. If you have any questions, let us know.

Button to create the new folder is missing in Explorer
The button new folder exists when I browse through the directories to backup certain file. But in normal mode, the Explorer of Windows Vista has not no any button to create the new folder. It is present in Windows XP and Windows 7. Is it possible to bring back this button in windows Explorer in Windows Vista.
There is a third party software bxNewFolder which adds a "New folder" button in the toolbar of Windows Explorer. It also provides a hotkey (F12) to quickly create a new folder in Explorer. However, she runs whenever you start the computer, the installation needs administrative privileges and uninstall requires a reboot. It is a Browser Helper Object (BHO)
I suggest that you just use "Alt + FWF" keyboard shortcuts in Explorer, the new folder appears instant ready to rename.
