Files reading TDMS problem in Labview 2010, created in 2009, error-2503

I did my measurements on my laptop with Labview 2009 installed.

The file format has been TDMS v1.0

I can read these files with the TDMS files viewer and I am able to do analysis on my laptop.

On my desk I have Labview 2010.

If I run the vi in Labview 2010 analysis, I get the following-2503 error: specified file does not have the PDM file format standards.

What's wrong?

I can open the file in Excel with the add-in.

I've included a tdms file created on my laptop in Labview 2009

For this problem, it's a bug in LabVIEW 2010 (not in previous versions of LabVIEW), sorry for the inconvenience. While the side R & D to fix this problem, we also a workaround solution, but perhaps a little more complicated:

(1) Please use older version of LabVIEW (like 2009 or 8.6) for defragement file by using the node TDMS defragment, if it works fine, you can then open it défragmentée TDMS in LabVIEW 2010.

(2) if the PDM defragment returns an error, then you can always find your defragmened files in the temp directory of Windows, but under a different filename (randomly generated), you can type "%Temp%" Run windows to open your temporary file.

  • Signal Express version unknown problem with Labview VI

    Hi all

I am trying to run 2010 Labview Signal Express VI. It gives me "unknown version" problem. When I checked for Labview versions, he said 10.0f2 and Signal Express can read the version of LabView 2010. I don't understand this. 10.0f2 is not just a patch for version 10.0? I will appreciate if someone can help me with this.

    Kind regards

    Kanu

    Hi Kanu,

I tried to write a simple VI and its importation to the Express Signal and I have not had any problems. I use 32-bit LV2010f2 and Signal Express 2010. I have attached the VI I used so that you can try it yourself. I followed the instructions of this KB to create a distribution of the source file. If you follow this KB and still can't make it work, can you please post the VI?

  • WAV to waveform - error amplitude in LabVIEW 2010

NOR will table a report with the Group R & D to solve the problem in a future version of the tool, but in the meantime, a good workaround is to use the 2009 version of the svx_Snd VI of waveform of reading, while using in LabVIEW 2010 environment.

  • Error 7 when opening the file auto-LabVIEW 2010

I use Open/create/replace file in LabVIEW 2010 to open a text file.  It works fine until I have compile the code.  Then, I get error 7. I tried the paths that are similar to the following, but no doesn't work.

    c:\\file.txt

    c:\\file.txt

    c:\------\file.txt

    Thank you

You must get the path to the .exe file.  Then remove the name of .vi and the .exe.  Then build the path from there to get your .txt file.  The way you have it, you treat the .exe to a folder rather than a file.  The text is no file not part of the .exe, you cannot create a path that includes the name of the .exe.

Why my executable does not work when you use the constant path of the current VI?

  • a problem with one of the files in the TestStand\AdapterSupport\LabVIEW directory

When looking at the module a LabVIEW VI called for TestStand, I get the following message:

A problem with one of the files in the TestStand\AdapterSupport\LabVIEW directory.  Please reinstall or repair.

I made the mistake of cleaning C: in my computer.  Clean the C:\National Instruments downloads

Why would someone put bits of applications or modules, etc. in such a directory?

I'm not too crazy about restoring 11FR in this folder.  It's just crazy!

If anyone has encountered this before?  No "easy"? outside re - install TS...

Side note: I do not touch anything in the \Program files. National Instruments\TestStand\AdapterSupport\LabVIEW

What version of LabVIEW and TestStand do you use?

In 2012, TestStand, this directory is mapped to:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\TestStand 2012\AdapterSupport\LabVIEW

Have you tried mass compiling the screws in this folder?

I had to create a new 'TestStand - default values XX.llb"file, where XX is the last version of LabVIEW you use, but I have not seen this message before.

    Good luck

  • LabVIEW csv file reading does not correctly.

I try to use the spreadsheet read vi file as follows the attached csv.

    He did some things wrong:

    (1) the first cell in the resulting table has ÿþ attached to the front of it, it looks like labview is striking some special characters, it should not? (Notepad, notepad ++ and excel can open all the file with no problem and no show ÿþ or something like that).

    (2) it is abuse characters from end of LIFE as two line breaks, resulting in empty rows between each row of data. (Looking at the csv file in notepad ++ confirms that the lines are completed with a CR and LF (same as EOL).)

    (3) I read in sub form of string, because one of the columns is nonnumeric, but then I remove this column of and try to convert the remaining string table in a digital picture (failure). It also fails if I shoot an individual element of the array and try to convert it to a number (in either case, using the string fract/exp number), below, I have an example of attempted to read from the 2nd column of the 1st row (index: 0.1) which is being shaped as a string: "1.37238168716431" and conversion which gives 0 as you can see in the snapshot of the façade into a number.

  • LabVIEW 2010 FPGA: problem with the mean and the variance Subvi

The Subvi 'Average, Variance and standard deviation' seems to not work properly. The calculation of the average value is ok but std and variance are bad and the results change with representation in an unexpected way. Everyone knows about this problem? Is there a problem with the use of this function?

    Thank you

    Andrea

    Hello Andrea,

Here is a test for the configuration of your VI (entered I16, 16 samples), saved in LabVIEW 2010 SP1 and the new Subvi. It is relatively simple to adapt it to other configurations, but it does not reconfigure several nodes and constants on the diagram. Let me know if it will work for you.

  • [Beginner] LabVIEW 2010: Vi 'Writing on a text file' overwrite an existing file rather than add new data

    Hello

I want to write data to a text file. Don't ask me why, I have to use the vi 'Write in the text file' and not 'write in a measurement file. Everyone do in my office.

The point is that when I use the vi, the file is always overwritten, if I want to add data in the same file. See attachment for a view of my program. Obviouly, I'm trying to find an option in the property, but no... I sent the vi outside the lopp, but it does not work

Oddly, it works very well with Labview 2009 but not Labview 2010

    Someone has an idea?

    Thank you for all

See exhibit attached - open the file, move it to the end, write the text, close the file.

You can also write at the beginning of the file, or to jobs in the middle.

  • I get the error indicating the niajel.dll missing for HSDIO in labVIEW 2010, can someone help how to solve this problem.

I'm using LabVIEW 2010 and installed the drivers from device LV2010 and try to use the HSDIO functions, while setting the HSDIO function on the block diagram showing niajel.dll is missing, can someone help me fix this bug.

I tried to uninstall and install not able to set several times.

Hello. niajel.dll corresponds to the NOR-TClk, although NEITHER-HSDIO does not specifically use it. You use certain functions TClk?

Also, what other PXI device driver are installed on the system? Could you give a report on the MAX system?

  • reinstall of LabVIEW 2010 problem

    Hi all. I'm new here.

I hope that you all can help me regarding a problem installing labview. I have attached a few screen shot for the error has occurred. The main problem is I'm using the same labview installation program to install the labview to my personal work from the laptop and it is, but when I install in my CPU business, he gave me a lot of mistakes. In addition, I had put out all the wall of fire to window, but it's still cant work.

    Information on my situation:

I made this my CPU company relocation is because the previous program installed labview had corrupted. So, I completely uninstalled all the labview program and reinstall it now. However, I am faced with errors shown in the photos. If I'm not mistaken, the previous version of labview installed is identical to the version that I install the CPU now.

You can uninstall all modules of NOR and do a reinstall. In general, I usually like starting a new installation of Windows (or go back to a clean restore point Windows) when this kind of problem occurs.

  • Read TDMS - calculate the average

    Hello

I have data I stored in a PDM file, I want to do some calculations, such as finding the average of all of my data.

Successfully, I have read the PDM file and linked to a waveform graph, no problem on this part.

However, I'm stuck trying to figure out how can I access data other than just to print them on a graph.

How could I summarize all the values to find the average value?

    I am using LabVIEW 2010.

    Thank you.

Use the Mean.vi function under the probability and statistics.  I'm guessing that you read a wave form and you may need to remove the values of Y by using the function to get the elements of waveform.  Display code if you get stuck.

  • LabVIEW 2010 executable runs under windows xp, but not in windows 7

Hi all.  Here's the situation.  We have Labview 2010 professional development on a computer running Windows XP.  I designed all my programs with this PC.  We have another PC which has Windows 7 with no Labview.  I'm trying to make the executable files and put them on the Windows 7 PC.  I have been here three executable files and move the Windows 7 PC.  One of the executables work correctly, the other two interrupt immediately.

Executables that stop have temperature limits and the program is apparently seen a low temperature and so stop the program.  Yet, these same executables work fine on the PC under Windows XP.  What seems to be the case, is that the program is expelled before allowing himself read the temperatures.  I use the modules of the series C 9213 and 9211 with 9188 Chassis.   My programs are showing 0 for temperatures.  Well, it's certainly in the low temp limit, so the program stops.  However, she should not do this.  I know there is little delay with the playback of all thermcouples in 9213 and 9211 modules, but this was not a problem with Windows XP.  Even if the program starts from scratch on the XP PC, temperatures immediately appear, or appear after a second or two.  Yes, I've rarely seen a temp 0 on the XP PC, but the program doesn't stop; Give it a second or two and the time appear.  Why is it that happens in Windows 7?

An executable that works has no measure of temperature.  It uses only 9481 modules and run the solenoids at a rate of about 0.2 seconds.  This executable works fine on both computers.

So what - this on the modules of temperature reading that is causing a problem in Windows 7?

    Other installation data :

-The XP PC has the updates Labview 2010 is compatible with

-The PC Win 7 not the latest updates of Labview 2010 there are has compatibility problems.  National Instruments has given me the compatible components, and they has several levels down by the most recent (for example MAX vs MAX 5.6 v14.0)

  • Is there an Excel to TDM plugin for LabVIEW 2009

I downloaded the Excel to TDM plugin and could not run. Dialog error usiReg said "this configuration file was created with a new version of the ICU and can not be used with the software you have installed." I installed LabVIEW 2009 SP1 and the .net version is 4.0. Y at - it another version of the 9

the plugin I can use? Is there something else I can do, or am I just out of luck, until I update?

    Hello

the functionality to open Excel files has been added to the ICU starting with version 1.8. However, the ICU in the manner described above upgrade you will register to use ExcelTDM and make it available through the _openWithRoot.vi in LabVIEW 2009. Simply install or DIAdem 2010 NI LabVIEW 2010 as a demo version.

Please see also the comments from readers on the page of ExcelTDM use, a client has requested the use of using Excel in older versions of DIAdem:

  • Error 116 when a string of binary file reading

I try to use the 'writing on a binary' and "binary file reading" pair of VI to write a string to a binary file and read it again.  The file is created successfully and a hex editor confirms that the file contains what is expected (a header + chain).  However, when I try to read the string back once again, I received an error 116: "LabVIEW: Unflatten or stream of bytes read operation failed due to corrupted, unexpected or truncated data.»  A quirk I found though, is that if I put "endianness" to "Big-Endian, network order", the error disappears when I use "native, welcome the order" (my original setting) or "little-endian" error occurs.  Did I miss something in the documentation indicating that you can use big endian order when writing of strings, I do something wrong, or is this a bug in Labview?  Because the program that it will be used for is to write large networks, in addition to channels, I would like to be able to stick to the 'native' setting for speed purposes and must not mix "endianness".

I have attached a VI of example that illustrates this problem.

I'm using Labview 8.5 on Windows XP SP2.

    Thank you

    Kevin

    Hello

Please contact National Instruments!  I checked the behavior that you have met and agree that it is a bug, it has been reported to R & D (CAR # 130314) for further investigation.  As you have already understood possible workaround is to use the Big-Endian parameter.  Also, I am enclosing another example that converts the string to a binary array before writing to the file, and then converts to a string according to the playback of the file.  Please let me know if you have any questions after looking at this example though and I'll be happy to help you!  Thank you very much for the comments!
